Ace Link Armor Level III+ Armor Test & Skeletac Plate Carrier Review
Ойын-сауық
We take the Ace Link Armor Level III+ armor plates and their Skeletac plated carrier out to the range and see how they perform and if the plates live up to their claim that they can stop up to M855 🇺🇸

Commenting on behalf of The Table. If there were ever a table that deserved recognition, this one is it. All the support it has given, in all types of weather, taking everything thrown at it, under-rated for the amount of abuse it has taken and continues to hold its own. Perhaps a poet could dedicate a poem to it, something like "Ode to The Table". Peace.
Thank you for the full review I've been wanting to get a good look at the backpack they can attach to the skeletac. Definitely gonna get the whole rig
As always..Thanks Mike. It's fun but definitely eye opening too
I was genuinely impressed with that three shot burst out of the SCAR. I had to go back and watch again because I didn’t think you’d got three shots off.
No 1 else's gonna say it. But you look like you've been an astronaut, a pizza delivery fella, a doctor, a plumber, a police, a mechanic, and went by the first name Johnny. 🤣🤣🤣. Great stuff man. Love what you're doin for the 2a!
Another great video. Thank you.
thank you mike for the video!!
“Frag grenade or note book”🤣 Or a note from my mom for the frag grenade
Scott would be proud of your table treatment!
Another great test review. But I have to find some of those ought-6 black tips💥😮💥😮
Very impressive. Good stuff.
I have observed several of these types of plate tests where the round is pretty much coming in perpendicular to the front of the plate. In a real-world situation, the plate could be substantially angled to the incoming round. Have you done testing where you use something like Paul Harrell's meat target above, below, or to either side of the plate to see what damage there is when the round is deflected into your body parts? Thank you for another great and fun video.
Thanks!
I think the table falling over made more noise than that ump with the suppressor made discharging the rounds.
One of the few companies that I have seen you review that offers 11x14 plates. Great for my 6”4, 220lb frame lol.

Great video Mike! Thanks brother Plate carrier made in Poland All decked out like you had it looks to be about $ 1200🤔
A buddy of mine died from a ND to the pelvis. Evidently the vast majority of the trauma; that ultimately lead do his death, was via bone fragments. I obviously know nothing, but from what I had envisioned from talking to his family was his pelvis literally exploded, with his bones working as shrapnel. It was a 30 caliber hunting rifle so who knows? As a teen knew a guy that was caught sleeping with another guy's girl at a party. Bf shot my buddy in the groin and he died as well. The guy that murdered my friend only ended up doing 2yrs. Evidently crimes of passion do make a difference when it comes to sentencing. Tbh the BF was my buddy as well, and he's a really good guy. It's crazy. Regardless, I don't think the pelvis is a desirable location to be shot. It's ironic that that only two people I've ever known to be shot, both died over shots to the groin. I wonder if it's a more common location we'd generally suspect?

Best job on the internet.

Good video you should try Polymer plates one of them is called shot stop and others
Good stuff.
Awesome!
Mrgunsngear, what do you put on your receiver threads/barrel to receiver contact for AR builds? What barrels would you look at for 350 Legend build 16'' -20'' length?
Man the way you beat up on that table I thought i was watching a Kentucky Ballistics video.
Hello patriots 🇺🇸🔥🔥🔫😎. Thank you for another great video .

I'd like to see that .30-06 AP on a fresh plate that isn't already compromised.
Can you fit 11x14 111+ plate into a backpack 🎒 & feel comfortable or would it be to heavy?
@mrgunsngear Do you prefer the over the ear from AXIL? Or the in the ear gs extreme’s?
That table is the real Hero😂
Can you review tacticon armament body armor plates? Im sure they would send you a plate to test. They do have their own testing videos but i wanna see what it takes to get thru them.
"General rule of thumb guys" 🤣🤣🤣
If anyone wants a playlist of armor tests (including Mr Guns and Gears) I have one made
can u shoot one of theses plates with just one rifle round until it fails?
Considering black tip 30-06 is pretty rare, would this stop a standard 30-06?
Next video should be a review on tables.

Nobody carries 20inch AR's shooting M193 unless you're time traveling back to the 80's. I wish he tested M855a1 out of an M4 barrel, the current standard issue for the last 10 years. The projectile in the A1 is much harder than m855 (which isn't even being made for military use anymore, only civilians use that like M193) which is why I expect that it probably just goes through every "level 3+" plate out there. So you gotta stick with heavy 5-7lb lvl 4's if you want to stop M855a1 or M995 which is unicorn rare, that shit is only issued to SF guys on particular missions. Needing to stop full caliber AP rounds is also even dumber, that's time traveling back to the 60's. Nobody is facing battle rifles shooting AP rounds, I'm not even sure if those have been made in the last 3 decades. Just a bunch of old stock. I just wish somebody would make a plate that doesn't weigh more than 3.5lbs each that stops M885a1, 7n6, and maybe SS190. All of those are the most common serious threats that anybody faces.
@jimyeats
3 жыл бұрын
@@adamc6371 Actually from a 14.5”-16” barrel all the tests with M855a1 fail to penetrate a 3+ plate. It just doesn’t have the velocity at 62gr, even being a little hotter loaded and having a harder tip. 7n6 is stopped by most level 3 plates, and all level 3+ that I have seen. Ss190 is stopped by any level 3 hard plate. So, everything you specified you want stopped can be stopped by level 3+.
@adamc6371
3 жыл бұрын
@@jimyeats people are conflating m885 “green tip” with m855a1. The projectile is different but flight ballistics the same. That round was designed to penetrate far better which is why is why it’s now the standard issue because armor is way more common if not universal. Even isis is rocking body armor, I’ve only seen 2 or 3 level 3+ ceramic plates that stop m8885a1 but they’re both crazy expensive like hesco and weigh just as much as level 4 so why not just get level 4 for half the cost and they are rated to stop even more?
@jimyeats
3 жыл бұрын
@@adamc6371 I don’t really care which body armor you get. I was just pointing out that level 3+ will reliably stop the three projectiles you mentioned, and you can consistently get light weight level 3+ armor, such as the offering in this video.

COULD YOU PLEASE CHECK OUT CarrabineQuarterMasterArmor? They make great armor, but are a small company. I tested some of their armor, and it surprised me. Their 3A stopped 5.7, and I even posted a video to their FB, of their 3A stopping 6.5 Carcano after being shot up by 9mm, 38spl, and a 12g round. I'm not affiliated with the company, but I really want their name to get out there, and for more people to see what their armor has to offer.

@@derek3154 my only gripe with my L210s is the single curve profile. Ace Link plates are assembled and sealed in China. The dudes at Ace Link are sketchy at best. When they first started making armor and selling plates through Cannae, they refused to disclose where the armor was being made and what materials they were using. There are only like 4 armor manufacturers in the US and companies are usually pretty open about which ones they used. I actually had to contact Cannae to get more information on the company and they spilled the beans on them, but said they are pretty good plates in regards to stopping rounds. I’d rather just deal with the lead times on some good and well vetted level IV plates that are made in the US and NIJ certified. TLDR; don’t trust Chinese build quality with your life.

@@rustyshackleford81 On their Website, they say to be an American product when it comes to the plates. The carriers are Chinese, according to them...but apparently the plates are USA products? 🤷. I have their Quad Release and their LVL IV plates. Love the comfortability. Where it's made doesn't bother me. Hell, Nightforce Optics are made in Japan.
Am I the only one that just truly does not give a shit about plates that aren't at least level 4?
may just strap that table to my chest.
How many chicken nuggets will that fanny pack hold though?
4.55 pounds per plate isn't too bad. I'm no expert, but the trade off with ceramic is lack of durability. Steel is suck-heavy, but far more durable. Choices !

After all these years and all of the boomer memes and trash talk about tWo WoRlD wArs, 45acp still hauls the mail.
for future testing on armor thats Lvl III+, just because it stops m855 - doesnt mean it'll stop m193. Yes, m855 has a steel core penetrator which we all think would defeat armor more than m193 but I have seen very well known plates that claim to stop m855 actually stop it just fine, but m193? which is more common in the US than m855 -----> straight through the plate like it was nothing. Especially the Hesco L210s. Stopped m855 but not m193. Now if I was a LEO and I had Hesco L210s and got into a fight with someone with an AR? Im dead. The armor I thought that was supposed to stop m193 which we all think is less likely to pierce that armor more than m855....will. And youre dead. So for the future (just a suggestion) make sure it can stop common threats before absolutely destroying the plate. I watch these to make sure im making a good purchase on armor and most of these armor testing videos go straight to either m855 or M2 AP when im actually wayyyyyy more concerned with m193 because of its much higher velocity.
Table down!!! Who do you think you are we all know KentuckyBallistics is the table destroyer stay in your lane bro... LMAO

I actually just bought some AceLink LVIII plates and LVIII+ side plates. You should do the AceLink Swimmer Cut plates also. They're NIJ rated but not certified. They are a *slightly* different material; I'm not exactly sure what exactly the difference is though.
