Absolutely loved this pose, I could have stayed in this position for much longer. It feels like my body craved this blissful twist, tension left me in no time. I feel like it physically unlocked something in my lower back and the spine. The word which came to my mind after this practise was ' Free' and the smile followed. Namaste

The left side of my neck felt more strained with the first position (twisting to the right, knees to right and head to right). I will need to explore this posture again for a bit longer to see what it reveals. Thank you for your kind teaching 😌

Will need to try this again, have currently been suffering from pain in my right deltoid and had problem moving right arm forward around the front of bolster...added an additional blanket (2) on bolster for height to see if that made a difference, which seemed to help. How do you know if you need more height on the bolster? After doing left side felt upper back and shoulder blade muscles very tight and not relaxed. Suggestions, Caren...Thank you!

You are a darling. I've got a lovely flu bug, thanks husband, must be bad because he's off his work and he's never sick. This pose was lovely, I did it on my bed and it made me feel so relaxed, helped all the muscles in my back, neck and shoulders to really let go. This is actually one of favourite restorative postures, I like it if my back pain is especially bad, I can do a twist and all my muscles get to let go properly. That's another advantage to restorative yoga, depending on what's wrong with you, you can still do it if you're not feeling great. Like this posture there's so many that can alleviate your symptoms as well. Thanks Caren, love and light 🧘‍♀️💜🧘‍♀️💜 wee side note, I've started to notice my stomach isn't anywhere near as bloated as it was 3 or 4 weeks ago when I started practicing restorative poses every night. It's been proven that restorative yoga is excellent for weight loss. If I'm not mistaken, I'd need to double check, but I'm sure it's more successful than power yoga because of how much it lowers cortisol levels. So many advantages to yoga of all styles, just hatha and restorative are the ones for me xx

So sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather, Kirsty! I think as part of an integrative wellness plan for weight loss, restorative yoga can be helpful. But it's certainly only one piece of the puzzle when it comes to that.

@@carenhope thanks Caren. I did a lovely practice tonight. First did this one, child's pose, child's pose but with my legs out straight and did six mini cobras, I then took my pillows sideways and lay on them so they were between my pelvis and lower ribs, my lower back loves that and finally supta bada konasana. It was heaven. I did a quick Google and a couple of years ago they did studies on how restorative yoga was effective with weight loss especially around the abdominal area in women. I'm 45 so menopause isn't that far away, hopefully this will help in the abdominal weight gain that seems to happen at this time. I knew I'd read it somewhere, I'm sure if I did more research I'd find the article where they did the study between power and restorative yoga, and how the participants that did restorative had better weight loss results. I'm looking forward to putting these videos into play lists, I'll do one long and a few short ones and of course a nice guided meditation or yoga nidra at the end! Thanks again lovely xxx

Hi Dear Caren .. I was wondering if you could help me on getting back to take care of myself, I was into Yoga three years ago and I started to learn it with you as my faivourate resource but some how I lost my way and got overwhelmed with life I fell on a path of neglecting my body and emotions and I even gained like more than 17 kilos of whight.. now I'm trying to come back on the road of bettering my body and spirt, yoga is part of what I try to commit to .. I just don't know where to start with my body being like dry wood😣, I would appreciate any tips from you, with love ❤

Hi Reema, and welcome back to the yoga practice! I'm glad you're here. Start where you are, exactly as you are. Make one simple, healthy choice for yourself every day. A little bit of wellness practice goes a long way. So, maybe that 1 thing you choose to do is the 12 Days of the Restorative Yoga At Home Challenge, and that's it. That is more than enough. When you get the ball rolling, it will become more effortless to continue to make good choices for yourself. Let me know what that 1 choice is that you're going to make today. 🙏🏻
