Thank you Huberman for recording another NSDR protocol. Doing NSDR has been really effective for me in releasing stress stored in my body and helps to slow down my overthinking brain. I hope it will help others to fully relax like it helps me, while still being awake.

This was Wonderful. Much Needed. Thank You, Dr. Huberman! Bless you & Yours actually...it's Very similar to a class i used to teach back in the early 90's, right after our Tang So Do Karate class. Very similar. ...i taught others how to do what i had always done since..well..as far back as i can remember..cos..childhood was not what it should have been & i had to adapt to survive. Getting in touch with every aspect of my body & mind helped me Master Control of this body & mind..and when our Teacher noticed my level of control..he asked me how i did it. Long story short, he asked if i would be willing to teach a class on it..the rest is history. Until everything changed when hubbs died. i shut down. forgot the class..forgot everything..had no 'support' group cos..death makes people uncomfortable & they avoid discomfort like the plague. Right or wrong, not my call to make, it simply is what it is. Now, many years later..i woke up this morning & realized apparently i'm gonna have to live anyway..so..might as well get on with it.. & here i am. Compiling a few external HDs of Health & Wellness videos, Zazen, meditation, brushing up on the newest Medical & Tech, & all kinds of interesting DIY...even gonna try new recipes......got 4 ext.HD's full now, to begin using today..by playing them on my large screen TV, interacting, or following along, as i move around. Your video is leading the pack...#1. Starting point.

I felt nauseous breathing in through my nose and out through pursed lips. I have the same problem doing the kind of breathing where you breathe in to a count of 5, hold your breath to a count of 5, exhale to a count of 5 and hold to a count of 5. The longer it goes on, the more nauseous I feel. I have a lung problem and a problem with gas exchange in my lungs (hypersensitivity pneumonitis), could that be causing me to feel nauseous and do I have to limit this kind of breathing?

NSDR is about focusing perception on different body sensations in order to facilitate deep relaxation in the body then mind. The focus of regular meditation is to increase awareness of the mind. So trying to anchor awareness to the breath but each you notice the mind wander, simply notice where your thoughts went and the emotional consequence of the thoughts, then shift awareness back to the breath as you let those thoughts pass by without judgement. So more based on awareness of your own thoughts and emotions vs facilitating relaxation by shifting perception in the body. Hope that helps!
