Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR): A Science Supported Tool for De-Stress and Relaxation

Ғылым және технология

Certain forms of experience put us into powerfully restorative states, similar to sleep.
Non-Sleep Deep Rest is supported by such studies and can be done any time of day or night to rapidly reset our ability to calm, focus, and, when needed, ease the transition to sleep.
Please post comments or questions below about your experience with NSDR.

Also if you ever actually went to college you would realize that there are many forms of doctors. Not all doctors practice medicine And most higher level professors posses a doctorate degree. They are addressed as Dr. that is their credential. A medical doctor is an MD. Those aren’t the only doctors.

Edit: unfortunate there are now adds in this video. Defeats the purpose of falling asleep to only be woken up in the end of the video by an ad. If you have to run them, do it in the beginning of the video but not in the end.

I like it for the good and consistent audio quality, the speaker speaking in a non-forced and normal voice, lack of music, and most of all for the speaker staying with me throughout because I tend to get lost in thought when there is long pauses. NSDR has been a game changer for my racing mind. Thank you so much! Andrew Huberman brought me here and I'm grateful for both your channels 🙌

    This is an ancient Indian yoga practice that one does after doing yoga! It's called Yoga Nidra

    yeah but without the bullsht that yoga comes with, no namastes, no worship, this is more scientific, not saying some good yoga Nidra but the excessive bs that yogis carry annoys me

    @@javiercisternasnajle To be fair, the elements that have been removed from a regular yoga nidra script do carry their own benefits, but they may need to be adapted to make them more palatable to a wider audience.

    thank You and big thanks to Andrew Huberman about introducing me with yoga nidra and stuff like non-sleep rest. make more videos like this!!! with more scientific details!!! Tips for those who is trying this for first time - make yourself 100% comfortable, i better enjoy laying on bed between pillows than sitting, specially after long day at work. Try not to move at all and at some point you can get at very best rest point for Your body and mind. great work "Madefor"

  • @ANANDJJBBTEC

    @ANANDJJBBTEC

    7 ай бұрын

    The tingling is because your muscles aren't getting adequate oxygen, since slow breathing out techniques increase carbon dioxide in the body. The tingling will gradually stop as you practice nsdr more, plus you'll have greater breath control.

    This is the best one on KZread. Sometimes I only have 10 minutes or even 5. Does anyone know of a video in a similar style but shorter? Or maybe Madefor could do one please? I'm not keen on the nsdr where they, usually women, speak in a soft voice.

    I just had a weird experience. I've been struggling with insomnia and anxiety for the past three months; most nights I sleep for 4 hours and then I'm awake and there's no getting back to sleep. Tonight, I tried this for the very first time. By the time I was mentally repeating the names of the various body parts, I started having visions and hearing things - just as if I was having a dream WHILE being conscious and doing the exercise. Afterwards, I fell asleep and got a nice one and a half hours in - which was like the sweetest nap I've had in a while! THANKS!!
