Your grandfather was inspired by someone helping him. You have inspired that in others. Although you feel embarrassed by people reaching out and helping you, allow them to do so, it’s their equivalent of working in a soup kitchen. It is always easier to give, than to receive. 😉😊🙏

Steve, I totally understand what your saying, your surprise and response. You told a story and perhaps you inadvertently missed one of the morals of it. Your grandfather did not beg for food, but someone gave him some. I was raised in a similar soup kitchen style. "Help those you can - if you can" And it's often difficult to receive than to give. And you know very well that the universe is under no obligation to explain itself🌌.

Good to see you, Steve. Congrats on the 100! Wishing all goes well with your upcoming surgery, and the following recovery. The first week of my freshmen year at Florida State, two guys both brought a beta fish with them from home. They are beautiful looking fish. They educated myself and others about how two males will fight to the death when put together. This seemed to cause much interest among our small group of newly found friends. After about a week the 2 beta owners decided to risk fate and let the battle take place (reminding me a bit about your video that included cockfighting). After much excitement, and a small amount of wagering, the two combatants squared off. Was a bit disappointing for me, as I had never witnessed something like this. I had a lot of exposure to aquariums and tropical fish, but beta fish were new to me. Anyway, when the 2 fish entered the squared circle a small amount of bobbing and weaving took place, then they locked on to each other by the mouth. A type of kiss of death, if you will. Once that happened the match was over. Whomever had the advantage could suck the breath and life out of the other. Sorry about any and all punctuation mistakes that I've made in this comment, as I don't want to piss you off. Am seriously thinking about retiring in Thailand next Spring. If I do I would love to take a trip down to your neck of the woods and have some broccoli while enjoying the sunset. Would like to see the sea turtle sanctuary, also. They are beautiful animals. Will also grab up a Boontong Bar souvenir if you have any in stock. Planning on giving Friday a generous tip.

Thanks John. Yeah, Chamnan's a useful friend. He drove me to Khok Khloi in the rain yesterday in the sam law. Pouring down there and back but I had to go to the bank and he drove without complaining. A lot of the little bottles in the nid noi shop came right off the beach.
Steve, when I suggested a gofundme, it wasn’t for charity. It was a way to pay it back. (For clarity, I wasn’t the dude who set one up). I frankly don’t know how far your voice can ripple in the KZread algorithm. I know horrible people make millions unimaginatively repackaging others’ fears. You are a singular voice who, through you own alchemy, melded my past, present, and future into a monologue I anchor my week around. Over the past three years, I’ve bought a couple dozen, often second-hand books, off of your recommendation. The first time I ate at a restaurant upon returning to America - Mexican, margaritas, pandemic plexiglass - I had Waylaid by the Bimbos in my hands. It was your first of many gifts to me. It goes back to my last comment about Trink. I’ve got a tea-kettle-set-to-boil heart dreaming of a hardboiled, yet whimsical world. The old radio cuts you sent me, the letter from the footloose newspaper spook who built the house I worked a few years in; shit, on the side of this Tennessee road, superimposed over a man smoking his last cigarette on an Iowan porch, you’ve allowed me to find a voice in the beigist blight of rural American life. This is my meandering way of saying I’ll buy one of your cuttlefish klaxons. Blinking neon lights calling out to those waylaid by, what was it Sinclair, time and time? A weary traveler thinking it’s over, and then sees Boontong’s blinking in the night. And then he knows he’s only reached the beginning, not the end, of the night.

I think often that this beach has been here waiting for me for millions of years. Every minute I spent in my crappy cubicle plastic spoons were washing up on this beach. Every time I ate breakfast and lunch over my keyboard they were selling khao mahn gai and gwayteo on this beach. And a million years after I'm dead, the tide will still be coming in and out, in and out, in and out... I find comfort in those thoughts.
Interesting to hear about your Lithuanian background. I went to Vilnius in 2013. Very nice place.
Congratulations on reaching 100! The largesse of others isn't dishonest. Providing Turtle Beach tat, "pet rocks", or other trinkets might be a more meaningful exchange to some, but not having to increase your carbon footprint in the posting and delivery of trash/treasure could be worth consideration, perhaps. I'm so ashamed. This is because the unions are on strike and I'm working with non-union crew.
I like your creativity - very much

Well, those checked shirts are all they sell in my size in Turtle Beach. But wearing checks and plaids also does two important things: it reminds me that I live in a place where Western ideas of suitable dress don't apply, where men wear pink and carry purses will wear sandals to the most formal occasions. And it makes me memorable. I want everybody who sees me here to know who I am. Checks and plaids is my brand, so to speak.
Hey Steve, Nice endshot brother (and every bit prior), warm regards, Leon

hey Steve, i hope you're doing well. I never thought you were asking anyone for money in the prior videos. i know people troll about that and everything else. If anything, you can put my portion into a fund for Tim's hair transplants:) haha don't tell him I said that! The turtle looks great! and so does the shop set. I can't imagine finding al the tiny items to fill those shelves and tables (whether it be on the beach or in town)! Have a great weekend, sir!

Thank you. It's coming along. I just hope that when I finally begin to shoot the video I can get more angles than just straight on. No way I can do a complete reverse, looking out onto the street. That's limiting.
Onya Steve , I like your honesty, your creativity, the Pink Floyd reference and that grill work was awesome . Keep on truckin 🤙🏽 btw ur turtle looks schmick 👍🏽
