In my outlook on life, you are on a win, win, retirement compared to the yatch/condo owners out there who are snobby about how others live. It's your boat to float YOUR way. We look forward to Friday and Sunday each week to enjoy your wit and humour ... not to mention seeing your artwork (those snobs can call it whatever they want). 😊

Thank you for sharing the story about Henry Darger, what an amazing life! I found a quote by Thomas Edison that I really love which goes like this "To invent you need a good imagination...and a pile of junk". I have always loved folk art and I have made thousands of refrigerator magnets using a variety of different materials. Maybe when I die my sister will discover them! Love your stories and am happy to listen to them every week! Keep going! Happy Trails, CZ

I enjoy seeing your life in your "nirvana" of Turtle Beach. While I am still searching for mine, I have long discovered my purpose in life that gives it meaning. I am an English teacher here in Thailand now, with eight years in China as a teacher. My current Nirvana is in Chiang Mai, but it is difficult to see past all the smokey haze in the air...ha ha. You and Tim are permanent fixtures in my week. Deal with that reality. Seriously though, thank you for bringing me a smile and good feelings with your presence in my life. With so much content to choose from online, and only a limited time to watch things, I have gravitated to two "grumpy old men" who provide something special to my life. Many blessings to you both.

@@steverosse I have said similar things on his channel. I always find it funny how you both collaborate with each other, yet you remind us viewers that you are separate. You in particular concede to the fact that it is Tim's channel, and you are just lucky to have Tim ask you to participate. Many viewers do not see it that way when we see you and Tim working together. We see you sharing a common platform. That platform could easily be transferred to your channel, and no one would think otherwise. It is still an equal partnership of Steve and Tim's Grumpy Old Men. If either of you would be replaced for some reason, Grumpy Old Men would no longer be what we expect. The original is always better than any reboot. One final note: Tim gets many questions and comments about you on his channel, but how many people ask you about Tim on your channel. I wonder who is the real favorite of the Odd Couple?

Then when I was living in Switzerland a few years later I made a “pilgrimage” to a very famous Outsider Art museum in that country (oddly it was NOT in a major city although I think now it’s been relocated). Anyway, very rabbit hole worthy subject And yes, Clooney or perhaps that other actor with the giant black eyebrows to play you. Was it Richard Benjamin or something

Ignore all the doubters Steve if you can! What matters is that you are having an interesting and fulfilling retirement. I am retired and attend a men's shed twice a week where we make 'stuff' out of old wooden pallets. It is mentally stimulating and keeps the old brain box ticking over. We also get to 'play' with workshop tools. What you are doing with your retirement maybe only suits a small minority of single guys but in my humble opinion shure beats the hell out of propping up a bar all day and grumbling how s@*t life is. You actually have the best of both worlds as you have your freedom to go exploring on your bike, potter about in your studio getting your hands dirty and if the notion take you then you can head off for a few days of 'adult' fun. Rock on Steve 🤣. You are the man! 😆 Good luck in the Turtle Festival. Hope you enjoy it and don't fall asleep due to nervous exhaustion 😟.

Since Mr. Darger never showed his work to anybody during his life, society can't be blamed for his obscurity or poverty. As soon as society was introduced to his art society placed great value on it and on the memory of Mr. Darger. I see it as a hopeful story.
