That is not true. Some people still caravan sh*t on camels today but they are accustomed to the dessert and the change in weather (due to climate change) and you wouldn't really want to rob them because it's not really worth it.

San fransisco has a new policy that if you steal less than a grand it's considered a misdemeanor so you could probably rob a bank for just under 1000 and, they would have to turn it over to you and, the police wouldnt show up.

@@Greksallad but it's recommended not to be prosecuted in many areas of States. So if there is no sanction what's stopping anybody? There is plenty of illegal stuff but nobody is enforcing the law. I guess robbery or more precisely shoplifitng fits that category now as well.

@@startingoverpodcast I think you should start being a bit more sceptical to things you read online because that's simply not true. Proposition 47 isn't a legalization of theft under 950 dollars. It simply raised the dollar amount by which theft can be prosecuted as a felony from $400 to $950. It does not mean stealing things worth $400 or $949 isn't a crime. If you get caught shoplifting, you can be prosecuted, regardless of how much you steal. The purpose of the proposition was partly to decrease the number of prisoners in the already overcrowded correctional facilities in California. It's a response to decades of building up the prison industrial complex and the useless war on drugs. And let's face it, a prison sentence for petty crimes like petty theft and personal drug use isn't helpful or necessary. If I were you I would demand to have prisons be left to the government instead of private companies. Private companies *only* seek to increase their profits and they hold immense political power, which they use to influence policy so as many people as possible are kept locked up for as long as possible.

I too would not steal fentanyl unless it was made of gold. Stevie is a real thief with style!

I'm a retail worker and it's so annoying. We had a guy with a cart full of miscellaneous crap that added up to $800, and an employee that was carrying a bow for him that costed like $1000 (they're in a case so they have to carry them up for the customers so we know they didnt break into the case), and he just walked out. We called the cops and took our stuff back, but the cops couldnt do anything about it. And then the next day a group of four people tried to steal, we stopped one guy but the other three got away with it. And then the next morning we had a woman walk out with her bag full of shit. Its Christmas time, we're so busy with a fucking mile long line and then we have to watch out for those who try and steal.
