Straight up self-gaslighting. Early on you don't even consider it, because why would you? But as you get increasingly desperate, you begin to wonder if you could actually do something as bonkers as put your keys in the fridge. That niggling thought consumes you, and finally you check just in case. And they're not there, and yet you managed to get yourself to question your own sanity enough to actually look. It's pretty interesting, and also pretty funny.
