No trickery, no sneaky tactics, you got enough molecules to have a whole-body experience - they didn't gate key content like your knees or thorax behind Day-1 DLC, or drip-feed you your organs in a "Pay-to-live" subscription model. Not only that, but owning/finding the original cuts of films. It has continued to piss me off to no end that, when I watched "The Death of Stalin" right when it came out, it was hilarious, well-edited, and a very well done film. I loved it. Then like 2 months ago, I decided to watch it with my parents and realized IMMEDIATELY, from the get go that it had been edited from its original cut (the opening shot from the original had been removed), there was no indicators that it had been edited from Amazon (like remastered, re-edited, changed from original for x reason... NOTHING. They treated it as if it was the original film which just UUUGGGHHH boils my blood), and noticed all sorts of re-edits and scenes cut or using alternate shots and it turned a wonderfully funny film into a less than mediocre film that was hardly a comedy. It was such a disappointed I apologized to my parents because the film we just watched was not the film I watched. So now I am on the lookout for this re-editing bullshit, and I'm going to have no choice in the future, I know it in my bones, that I'm going to have to pirate original cuts of films because I have no idea if a film has been changed/edited/ or whatever from the original cut. I think it's utterly disgusting and egregious and a complete disservice to both the customer who is being bamboozled and the director who's work that is being chopped up/destroyed from its original vision.

    Subs are fine when its like playing an ever updating mmo or a gym membership kinda deal. Owning even a piece of that is expensive after all. The issue is when you have to sub to things just to use stuff you should own. Like if you are only after a movie you should just purchase a copy for yourself. Not need to subscribe for an entire month just to watch the movie once and then never again because you aren't subbed at months end. Also it should never be hard to unsub but they somehow get away with making it literally impossible at times. Subscribing to the ongoing development of upkeep of something is fine too. Just not when it gets scummy.

  • @paulszki

    @paulszki

    @@nmoney000 yeah, the smaller titles are the main draw. There are so many indie games that you can simply start playing on gamepass to see if you like them and if not, no biggie, play something else, and if you like, great another awesome game to play. Or slightly older titles that you may have skipped. E.g. Farcry 6 or the Dead Space remake and a bunch of other EA-titles that tend to come to EAplus (and thus, gamepass) within a year of release. And in ADDITION you get games like the latest Yakuza, Remnant 2, Lies of Pi almost immediately after release. It's nuts really. Gamepass completely changed my gaming habits and also my purchasing habbits. Like why would I even consider buying Jedi Survivor if I know it's going to be on gamepass in the next couple month anyway, all patched and good to play? My PS5 is basically an "exclusive games"-device. Why would I buy ANYTHING but God of War, Spider-Man etc. from Sony when every other relevant game is one gamepass. Only a select few tripple A titles you'll actually have to buy (e.g. Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, upcoming GTA. Those kinds of releases.) if you want to play them but even then gamepass just throws so many games at you that you're never in a rush to play the "latest and greatest" and you can wait for a sale and a bunch of patches. I wouldn't be surprised if Baldur's Gate 3 came to gamepass the moment Larian has finished their Series S port.
