Nicola Sturgeon DESTROYS Anti-Trans Arguments

As the anti-trans movement zones in on Scotland - which is planning to reform a humiliating, medicalised gender recognition process - the SNP First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has fought back, comprehensively debunking their arguments.
I discuss her truth bombs with Guardian columnist Zoe Williams, who eloquently dissects the tactics of a movement which has become increasingly radicalised and obsessive - with terrible consequences for trans people.

@@dustygania2425 A decent amount are autistic, yes. Autism is not a mental health condition. Legally and medically autism is not a mental health condition. Also, the fact that a lot of autistic people are trans doesn't seem to make people go, "oh, you're not autistic, well, we're going to doubt your trans-ness more so because you're not autistic", and that I find so stupid and funny. By the way, because autistic people don't tend to conform to society in anyway, they're less likely to feel that they need to make their gender conform, and therefore are more likely to be open to accepting if their gender is different from what was assigned, making autistic people more likely to be open/knowingly trans. Are you autistic, and are you trans? Because if you're not, you don't get to a say in what autistic trans people are feeling and are, as you cannot physically feel what they feel (I'm talking more than empathy, I'm talking about sharing nerve systems sort of thing, like literal feeling what they feel).

No-one should be tormented for living in a way that doesn’t hurt others, but at the same time, only a fool thinks that this isn’t being politically weaponised and pushed in our faces, especially when young children are being programmed to accept blatant misinformation on biological facts, laws are written imposing compelled speech, and the little guy (that little guy that the left pretends to care so much about) has little to no say in the matter. In the apollo missions they referred to cis lunar and trans lunar. Trans lunar was the dark side of the moon. Cis lunar was where they made the landings. Trans means the other side of . Trans people can be straight so your understanding is incorrect. If you are straight you are heterosexual. If your straight and not trans you are cis het. Cis has been used for a long time to describe someone who is not trans. It's used in peer reviewed papers and also occasionally used by the media. These are the 2 words, cis and trans we use to describe 2 demographics. Then if we apply other descriptors we get overlaps. So we would get overlaps with say, straight, bi, gay, lesbian, women, men etc.

I remember at the time thinking the reaction to my friend coming out at trans was a non issue for me personally but being appalled by the other friend who couldn't cope with it and felt betrayed. I guess I was just ahead of my time being a straight ally who believes people should be what they want to be and they feel most comfortable being. It does not involve or impact me at all. It's refreshing to have cis allies speaking up. So much of our media here in the UK favours the anti trans activists & sidelines trans people & our allies. Between the anti trans groups, our anti trans media & the Tory party it's becoming increasingly difficult to stay in England. I've been physically assaulted so many times over the last 7yrs I now have PTSD & agoraphobia, I came out around 13yrs ago and it's gotten steadily worse since equal marriage came into force. Around the same time it was announced by the women & equalities committee that the GRA was outdated & in need of reform. All this announcement did at that time was give right wing media a new target now that they'd lost their fight against equal marriage rights. We had years of the press flat out lying about what the GRA actually did & why it needed reform & press watchdogs did nothing but ignore complaints about these press lies. In the rare times papers got called out they'd print an easy to miss correction hidden many pages away from the front page weeks later (even though the lies were often front page!). Then as time went on they increased the scope of the discussion, now every facet of my life is deemed suitable for "public debate/discussion" as I repeatedly get kerb stomped by groups of men who now feel emboldened to commit acts of violence. Late 2020 I was attacked so frequently I was unable to play my acoustic guitar for over a year due to repeated shoulder injuries

Most of my lefty politics aligns with yours, Owen. However, you have come to the wrong conclusions on the politics of how to deal with trans ideology. Men who say are women and therefore enter women's spaces does increase the risk of sexual assault because the majority of assaults on women are by men. The idea that's trans people are only a minority is true, but safeguarding procedures are entirely in place to act as a safety net for those minority cases. Statistics matter and I fail to see how safeguarding women can be trumped by someone's sense of self whether it is true or not. I welcome more unisex individual cubicles but women's spaces should be women's spaces
