My Left Eye is Past the Point of No Return - Endmyopia 12 [Day 64]

!!!WARNING!!!: In this video, I was not doing the correct things to improve my eyes and was under the influence of blur adaptation, a condition where it's easy to think you're improving your eyes when you're not. I have since started doing the correct things and have made real consistent improvement in my eyes, but this video is not to be taken as an example of what to do. Please see my explainer video here where I tell you everything wrong with my older videos: • My Biggest Vision Impr...
Original Description:
I talk about how my left eye will likely never stop improving until it reaches 20/20. My myopia has reduced to the point where active focus is working without my normalised in that eye. I give a warning on plus lenses, talk about eye bulge, and play Crash Team Racing (while patching, of course).
!! FUN HOMEWORK !!: Try watching this video and look at my left and right eye. You know that fleshy red part near the end of the eye socket hole? Try noticing how there's more visible 'fleshy redness' in my left eye than my right. At a strong guess, looks like the axial length of my eye has been physically altering the dimensions of my eye, and my more myopic (physically bigger) right eye is taking up more of my eye socket.

    Hi Nott, I always appreciate people who are "going all out". That is what I was doing at a young age, as an Engineer. I thought that any minus lens screws your eyes up - badly. More power to you! I always appreciate people who attempt to tell me honest scientific truth.

    Interesting stuff. I bought, and read, Dr Bates’ book before finding the endmyopia channel. I only used glasses for driving (which I do very little of), and found that my weaker, but dominant eye (R -3.75) improved somewhat. I now use two pairs of glasses: for indoors, walking, gardening etc, -2.5; for reading, either no glasses and use slight blurring, or use -1.5. My left eye is -3.00. Glad I started on this journey, and wish you every success!

    I can't see a reality where I stop. Not to get all evangelical, but endmyopia has produced an objective, huge improvement to both my eyes and to my quality of life as a whole. And nobody knows about it. What the heck.

    While I do argue for an intelligent plus lens wearing. I think Jake is great. But a person, must reach, and read 20/50, both eyes, BEFORE, he thinks about the plus - as the last stage of recovery. This is a very person choice! You are very brave to continue with this scientific process!

    You are improving super fast. I can relate to the feeling of the active focus happening in your eye. If I feel that, I know I'm not locked up. I discovered that early on. I would practice active focus holding a book in front of me and I noticed that as I moved the book away from my face, it felt kind of like it was tugging on the lenses in my eyes. Kind of a weird feeling.

    @siemenssx1 Sounds like it is active focus :). It's a term used at 'endmyopia'. Have a look if you haven't been there! The tugging and slight tearing is the closest thing I've come so far in about 3 months to improving my sight so I may be wrong.

    I think it's a bit early for plus lenses if your normalised are at -1.75. Maybe steer clear of plus lenses altogether until you're deep into the last diopter and it'll be +0.25 or +0.50, not more than that intermittently.

    Hi NottNott, Nice report. You want more science. Then get your own Snellen at 20 feet. Tell us you read the 20/50 line, more accurate than license plates. We trust YOU. OD measurements are excessive, bad and not necessary. Consider buying a few test lenses. That is empowering. Just reading 20/40, both eyes open would be a success marker for you. We all support you and your goal!

    Have you experienced any experience of double vision occurring over the course of your reductions?

  • @NottNott

    @NottNott

    5 жыл бұрын

    A fair bit, definitely. I've been going really quickly obviously, so my visual cortex is always playing a little bit of catch-up. However, the double vision is in no ways overwhelming, I can definitely live my life with it and my levels of general blur are decreasing all of the time, so no problems about it, even if I do have it. Should get less of it after I'm at a lower prescription and get used to the same focal plane.

    Regarding your asymmetric eye protrusion - your orbital and socket structure may be asymmetrical, or not. Don't assume it is. I know my skull structure is imperceptibly asymmetrical and didn't discover it until I was in my 20's.

    plus lenses help to reduce eyestrain while reading phone or book. I also use them but only cca half time of close up looking. As for minus lenses I currently use -0,75 but only two to three times a week and while driving.. With active focus and without lenses I can read any sign outside, distance is not an issue :) I started with -1,75 right and -1,50 left eye.. 5 month ago..
