My First Day Being A Full Time Gig Worker for Uber Eats, DoorDash, Instacart & Skip

So it's officially my first day doing full time Uber Eats deliveries, full time DoorDash deliveries, full time Instacart deliveries and full time Skip the dishes deliveries. I didn't have it planned to be a full time gig worker in this gig economy but it looks like it's happening now. So I am now going to be also making full time ride along videos, mainly Uber Eats ride alongs since I do deliveries for Uber Eats in Canada the most. If I am going to be doing deliveries, I am also going to be filming the content!

I really enjoyed this video! And I agree with you on pick ups at the mall. I hate them. They are NEVER ready and I always have to wait. Not to mention having to park too far away from where the restaurant is located and walking through crowds to get there only ….to wait. Hope you’re having a wonderful Wednesday!

i do pretty much the same thing for taxes. i keep a spreadsheet and then at the end of the month i just move the tax percentage over to another account. this way when its time to pay the tax man, ive got it. same thing for car maintenance/repairs. this helps me to know what my true profits are at the end of the month (after taxes, repair budget, gas, etc)

Love seeing someone else doing this! I find it helps that I have the money on the side, if I didn't have the money, that would be a different story and a tough pill to swallow. I am unsure how long I will keep it up this way, but if I see it's working out more I will keep it up. I also know due to the recession, I am making way less so it's best to keep money on the side during those tough times in case.

Heck I even quiet using a pirated video editor and bought it....lol I still pay for Epidemic Sound even though I rarely use it. That I should look in to dropping since it's not something I use much anymore. I have another channel too. Actually two other channels but I let one go dormant....never post to it anymore. So yeah, I really understand the passion for making videos. Anyway just keep on keeping on!

Haha here's to freedom Patrick! I love the freedom of being a gig worker but my favourite part is the freedom now to make my videos whenever I want. I couldn't before due to my full time work schedule so I think it's worth being paid less to do what you love, when you love it. If it wasn't for me being a paid KZreadr...yikes lol it might be VERY difficult lol

I realize my strategy has to be different when I'm available during the day in the week. Food delivery is ok during the busy times (breakfast, lunch and supper). In between, it would be groceries. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are horrible. Also, I can't be as picky during the day as I do in the evening.

Hey Ash! I just found out recently that for Doordash the best way tho schedule my shift is at 3:00 pm on the dot, 6 days in advance! I was worked well for me and I now have an alarm on my phone for 3 pm every day! I barely do any uber eats anymore. In my area Doordash pays more per order and less km!

Wow, thank you for sharing that. I know that's not easy to share. I am a parent myself and I know it can be hard. This job will help you with the schedule but without working dinner hours it's hard to make truly good money but I know with kids that's not too easy of a option. I wish I had advice for this but I can't put myself into your shoes. I will say this, if you can multi app more than DoorDash then do that and take the best offer from the company who pays you the most. It will help you make more.

When I left the company I worked for. They gave me a large lump sum of money because I didn't quit. It was a choice due to my department closing so they paid me to leave because of that , I took some of the lump sum of the money , put it into savings to hold to cover my taxes when tax season comes along. Not many people have that choice but I do, due to that lump sum.

Yes that's right, I put a couple of thousands of dollars on the side to cover the taxes. With the amount I am making anyways, it shouldn't exceed 15% but additionally I will be claiming gas, oil change, tire change, anything to do with the car, even my cell phone bill because of the features needed like data. Regardless I have money on the side to cover everything. I am not worried at all.
