Today where I am is absolutely horrible weather. We have about 60 km winds and rain mixed with snow and I am going out to do the supper shift. Usually uber is pretty good in my area when the weather is bad but sometimes it really doesn’t make a difference. I will let you know how I do and what they’re going to throw at me.

Update: my orders were definitely a little bit more money than normal. Uber was offering me anywhere from $2.50 to $3 per kilometer. I found that the tips were much better last night during this horrible storm. The theory about getting more money when the weather is bad is definitely true. I even had a few customers raise their tip 🤗 It was a good shift

During our last snow storm Uber Eats constantly sent me triple stacked orders one after another . I refuse to do triple stacked orders unless it pays at least $30 for low Km so I shut the app off and went home.

That's my minimum for triples to, I will give in to maybe $27-28 but during a snow storm. Nope. I barely do regularly let alone a snow storm lol

Hi Ash, maybe a stupid question but why only the uber eats, doordash, skip and not also original Uber to carry people? It doesnt pay as much?

So I don't do Rideshare or UberX because I don't want others in my car. It gives me anxiety I guess like the whole "stranger danger" thing but I am the one driving. So instead I say no. It pays more but I won't do it. It's also my personal car so I don't want anything to happen to it.

Yeah that day was a lucrative night. 11 orders online 3h07m active for 2h39m 223.96$ which includes 50.02$ of tip so yeah an average 20.36$/order 84.51$/hr but in return clients were charged higher fees since no drivers that night

Yeah that's the only thing, no matter what, it's always the customers paying sadly.

With the exception of inclement weather, the vast majority of times that Uber sends out an order to me paying like $30 and up, the restaurants closed or it’s already picked up by another driver, especially after 9pm so I would be cautious Ash. That is definitely a topic that I never hear gig KZreadrs talk about with Uber eats that I want to bring to your attention in case you’re not aware.

That's some craziness lol i sure wouldn't mind seeing some payouts like that. My best day was during a snowstorm (about 5-10cm to you lol), and made over $270 in about 8 or so hrs. Hope you're having a good one Ash!!

@@DashWithAshinCanada that amount shuts us down lmao I think I was about the only vehicle on the road that day. The roads weren't really bad at all (at least to me, they weren't). I have to look it up and see it lol I'm assuming I could watch it without logging in, I hope.

Here in Vancouver, the land of almost no snow, orders are about $20 -$40 /delivery (not order) when it does snow, and the offers are none stop (which was extra nutty when trip radar came into effect). However, the traffic comes to a grind well into the night, with lots of accidents, and when you break down the pay to hourly, it ends up being about the same, more dangerous, and required a vehicle that consumed more gas. Also, downtown during events, the pay for orders is also amazing. But it is next to impossible to drive, and definitely impossible to park. It may be worth it on a scooter, but never tried it. I don't have the patience for that kind of traffic when I am under pressure to get deliveries to people in a timely fashion. I get super grumpy and I feel that impacts my customer service, and that just strikes me as lose-lose. So I don't bother. I usually try to very pick specific areas to work during those times, that are different than my typical preferred areas.

I would have to say I'm similar to you Carman on the rush to have to get things done. Makes me feel over consumed and it becomes beyond stressful. I rather stay home lol but I think many have realized that by now about me lol

This week has been wonky....Uber paid well whereas dash was complete garbage...I applied for skip long ago(2 months ago) and haven't heard back. I called and this message says well cause your zone doesn't need couriers etc.... I don't get it. But I'm delivering for the others no problem? Does skip think they are premium lol

Skip did that for me for 3 weeks but not 2 months. I'm barely on their schedule anymore lol I find they do think of themselves as higher for sure.

Ashley, I’ve been getting some shocking trip request that like $58 to pick up 15 things at Walmart and to go only like 8 km. That was one day another day I got something similar at Metro for 11 items and 5 km and I got paid out like $47. I have snapshots I could be off on the numbers, but it’s something like that. I have the snapshots happy to email it to you. I was shocked. I don’t get to them in a day but I’ve been getting that this week. I got like three or four of them Not complaining and the reason there was nothing happening. I guess they’re just putting them out spontaneously. And I missed one it was a match. The other ones were I think sent to me and then there was another really good one match but I was too slow and it was like in the 50s to go like 6 km so I don’t know what’s going on. But I’m not complaining they need to send more and more of those in a day. I’m not just one. Weather was OK like perfect temperature but I usually Uber and at night till morning but sometimes I will start like around 4:30 PM but the rest of the times I was starting at like between 7:30 to 9:30 PM.

The problem we have in Brampton is a lot of drivers have actually No clue how much it’s costing them and even when it’s pissing (pardon my French ) it down they still take the 3 dollar and even 5 dollar for 12 kms plus tak on coming back so 5 bucks for 24 kms . Total losers

Yeah there is a huge gap in the gig world for new drivers and offers. They need to stop taking that crap.

Usually Quest when it’s bad weather but Uber know that in Brampton drivers will take anything lol so No Quest

We never get Quests for bad weather here. Those only happen for me on super quiet days.

Well let me jog my memory a little bit i recieved an order of $30 and actually it was that exact price $30.18 the only catch was that the drop off location was in another town about and hour 1 hour and maybe 15 minutes away. That was a very rare order because majority of the order i receive are garbage so against my better judgment i took it because again those are dollars not the usual pennies uber cheats usually try to pay.

Yeah it's rare and majority of the time, it's because they hike up the price on the customer in fees for that day. So even then these companies don't respect us enough to pay us.

From what I've experienced, Uber isn't paying out more money. To that driver sure, but the money won't come out of Ubers fat bank account. They'll skim money from other drivers to pay these.

So you're right on this, they increased the delivery fee / service fee that day to $15.99 per client. You are spot on.

Uber eats has become completely horse shit in Toronto since I started one month ago.. no decent jobs left in Toronto as most are taken up by international Indian students😢

Yeah with deliveries you also need to get side income just to support doing this kind of work , it doesn't pay enough on it's own

​@DashWithAshinCanada, that's just the issue. I just moved over here from London England and trying to find a normal job is near impossible atm.. cuz most have been taken over by international Indian students, which leaves nothing decent for the new Permanent Residents... true doughs canada fml!
