Tiny Little Girl Our tiny little girl with the grownup voice will be 17 on Jan. 10, 23 and is now 6'1" tall and could be a super model, but I hope the major portion of her career will be dedicated to her music and taking the world to a better place. I don't think she even realizes this power she holds over us and the need to hear that signature voice to fill that empty void within all of us. Angelina Jordan is in fact the "Benchmark" for all other vocalist to try as they might to achieve.

This song was written by David Foster - It just so happens that David is a fan of Angelina, I understand that he heard her singing What a Difference a Day Makes in Singapore 2015 (age 9 ) - Angelina's team did not accept what ever he was offering, then in 2019 Angelia was invited by David to take part in a Charity event - it looks like Angelina makes quite an impression with big music producers...

Angelina the goddess of voice/music is pur magic in this performance, so gorgeous, better isnt possible. She is singing in E but in original G she made easy when she was 13 (many million likes). She is the diva from heaven, what a gift for the musicfreaks on this planet 👑♥️🌹🌟 great reaction 😊

You are right about the keys. And there are some singers out there that can sing the song in the key of G (with ease). The belting pop soprano's! Whitney on the other hand preferred to sing it in the key of F after a while when she had to perform live, probably to avoid vocal cord strain or even dammage. Angelina is more close to an alto and has a warmer tone then those soprano's. Now that I heard her singing it in this key a couple of times, I'm convinced that it's the best for her and it helps to make the song her own, as she so often does.

Yes original studio was G but on stage, Whitney Houston sang in F, just a half tone above AJ But whatever Angelina must sing as she feels, Personally I love the two versions of those two great singers, I dream seeing WH and AJ on the same stage singing this song 😍♥️

Yeah not dumb at all, how about her hum in the live version? Or in her recent very short tiktok doing a man's world? That one was probably a bit too beautiful. She smirked after as if she new she got to us again. You better make sure to catch that one if you haven't. That's always been a big thing for the best soul singing. Blues, Jazz, gospel, r and b. It's better to switch up your runs and riffs with a different texture sometimes and she's unreal at it.

I was sitting here while listening to Angelina sing and realized that Whitney Houston was not present. That Angelina took full control of this song and that her interpretation became valid to me. Mind you I was one of Whitney's biggest fan and that will never change but Angelina has an ability to create the change in a song and include you in it if that makes sense. She might not have jazzed it up but she did use jazz influences to spice it up. She did an outstanding job. Thank you for your reaction and support to this incredible young artist.

It is a BIG song, and as with everything, she does it soooo masterfully! She delivers the power notes so incredibly and yet, as you say, never over sings them. Her breathy quality is unmatched, IMO. It was a beautiful song in 1992 and this young woman has given it new life in her own special way. Despite their different vocal qualities, very emotionally sung just like Ms. Houston's version. She did make me envision Kevin Costner from the movie though. Yes Jeff, the little girl has grown up quite a bit. Brought a tear indeed.

Angelina can change her delivery for every song. she is a very special artist and performer!

I think that every once in a while Angelina decides to give us something to show that she’s not constrained by the type of music she has handled so well in her career. I love her as a jazz and blues singer, and here we see how easily she can knock off a difficult power ballad. After many years of hearing her, you think you know her comfort zones, but then she decides to step outside those-and often it’s with an iconic song that most other singers would decide not to touch. Despite hitting the power notes so cleanly and with such depth, you can see that she is actually using some restraint-that’s there’s more in the tank. She stays true to the song. She doesn’t need to show us everything she can do, and the result is her complete control, giving us a beautiful cover with the confidence and ease we’ve seen ever since she walked onto a stage at seven years old.

I stand and applaud your 'reaction" Sir. I have enjoyed this more than any I can think of, in the recent past. No pausing to talk or explain your every thought, or speak about things that have nothing to do with the video (like so many do). This alone earned my subscription. I look forward to seeing many more Angelina reactions. Well done!

(just a couple weeks before turning 11) There are a lot of rumors surrounding this video (audio only) but no facts or data to back them, even though some will still try to keep those rumors going. The song was written by 'Baby Fuzz' aka 'Sterling Fox' real name Brandon Lowry, who grew up about 20 miles or so from where I was raised, albeit years later. The only real facts that can be agreed on is, "IF" Angelina had released it, it would have been a hit, and is some of her best work. The demo was "Leaked" to the internet a month before Baby Fuzz released the 'original' or his cover as many like to say. The name of the song is "I'm Still Holding Out For You" kzread.info/dash/bejne/dqpsz8x8mJjPmag.html If you check Baby Fuzz's version and then Angelina's, you will see how much more popular her version is, by the views and likes. Every time I hear Angelina sing with power, I still feel she has more that she is holding back.

Angelina at her last concert in Norway, dedicated this song to her grandmother Mery who has been battling health issues and was unable to travel to Norway. That makes Angelina's performances of this song much more emotional. In the description for the original video, it mentions that Angelina owns the copyright to her version.

I attribute every superlative and compliment in existence to this beautiful and extraordinary talented angel.

If Angelina likes the song, it doesn't matter who's sang it or how big of a song it is she's gonna sing it the way she imagines. She even sang a highly-rated Japanese song in Japanese in Japan.

Cole McCarthy provides Angelina such a beautiful and complimentary video story. His UCLA studies really paid off. The acoustics in the antique store are amazing. The high ceiling and chandeliers provide rich and varied depths. "My Funny Valentine", "I Have Nothing", "Suspicious Minds" and more, I hope, all benefitted from the venue.

A vocal coach meant, that Whitney was a soprano and Angelina is a contralto (the deepest key a female sings) also after "measuring" her Reach, it was said, 2,5 octaves at this moment with more to come. As I am a almost deaf elderly guy, I don´t know about that, but this was from one of the more serious vocal coaches. God bless you. Elmar from Germany.

You pronounced it correctly, it is pronounced as if the I is not there from an English point of view :-) She is certainly growing up and still only 16: unimaginably she still has about a decade to go before her voice fully matures. The video certainly looks great. It is the same director as for Suspicious Minds. Have you done that one yet: I like that one even better…. She certainly does make it seem to be easy, but this is not an easy song: singing this song is hard work! She sings this so breathtakingly beautiful! Comparing it to Whitney: she sings it a little lower than Whitney did it in the studio and choosing a pitch fitting your voice is the only sensible choice. Where Whitney’s voice is more crystal clear, Angelina adds more depth, warmth and stuff like vocal fry, breathy voice and wonderful hums. During her latest concert in July she dedicated the song to her recovering and absent grandmother with whom she has a special and strong bond. This gives the song a very personal and emotional context. I also gave you the link where she sings this song sitting down crosslegged and it still sounds amazing. Thanks for this reaction!

Chuck, try a couple of her rehearsal videos so you can see what she can do without the engineer’s interference. Lovin’You when she was 11 was very good. Fly Me to the Moon rehearsal for Quincy Jones birthday celebration is amazing. And the raw studio recording of I’m a Fool to Want You will blow you away.

You most definitely can record in several takes even when then breathing is prominent in the recording. The amount of control you have for editing these days is incredible. Back in the old days you had to physically cut the tape with a razorblade so you had to be really sharp to do that perfectly (I won't even get into talking about crossfading, hahaha).

I enjoy your comments. David Foster (and his ex-wife) wrote, and own, the song. Check the credits and you'll see that Angelina has copyright to her version. She worked with Frost several years ago (it seems strange to use those words for someone so young 😉), so he could have assisted her in that regard. You noted the "harmony" phrase. Is that possibly a clip of Whitney that they've pasted in? Since Foster owns it, she possibly avoids copyright problems. Whatever, great reaction. Keep it up!

The harmony was originally unexpected by me. Because it was so brief, it felt out of place. I had to listen a dozen times to conclude it is AJ rather than WH. Now it has grown on me, I expect it, and it feels fitting.

I was a Whitney fan from the beginning of her career to her tragic end. Whitney was great, but Angelina at 16 is far better than Whitney ever was at making you feel each word, and phrase. AJ changes every cover to make it hers and far, far better than the original. AJ is the greatest STORYTELLING ARTEST I have ever experienced in my 75 years.

this of course is Angelina at 16 years old, lip syncing to her own recording. go back and watch her in a live studio recording of this song when she was 13. you will see more of the Whitney Houston power ballad. in the video Angelina is wearing a white shirt. she records the song in one try, its a bit rough but damn well worth listening to. she hits the powerful notes better than anyone else. while recording her first version of this song at age 13, Angelina used a track of the original music, so it was a bit faster and stronger than this one. please give it a watch . you wont be disappointed.
