My opinion is Mariah's vocal characteristics and capabilities will always put her on top. Also, she is not just about singing. Celine and Whitney are/were great singers but Mariah is the real TALENT.

I don't know how, but I had sincerely forgot just how INSANE Mariah's range was during this period...The fluidity & ease in which she moved between octaves was just not of this world. Perfection.

The transition to that whistle though. Crazy!

When I was in high school, I listened to this song about 20 times in one night after I got my heart broken for the first time. Mariah helped me get through that pain.
