Is. You guys can compare your Selena to someone else. Mariah Carey is one of the BEST VOCALISTS OUT THERE! Like Beyonce and Adele barely reach 1/4 of Mariah’s level. Let’s be honest here, Bey and Adele may be the contenders of this generation but don’t think that they reach Mariah’s level even today! Beyonce makes up for her dancing and Adele can stick to mid-belts, but Mariah doesn’t stick anywhere exactly because of the versatility and colors in her voice! A sick Mariah can obliterate most of the music industry today. If you say “Mariah lips” then try having nodules all your life. Mariah can sing your faves under the table tbh.

I was actually at this concert!! July of 1993 at Proctors Theatre in Schenectady, NY...It was 2 concerts on 2 nights in a row, and taped for an NBC Special for Thanksgiving in 1993. I still have the concert t-shirt from being there! Brings back so many great memories!! Also, I am in this video!! At 3:03-that is me and my gf at the time!!

I am a vocal coach and I've been studyin' singing for over 20 years.... I really know the human voice. And I have to say, everytime the demon of "selfishness" tries to tell me I'm the best singer in the world, I just have watch Mariah perform to realize I'll never reach that level so I calm down and keep my feet on the ground again HahHHA OMG! She's the best!! No doubts about it!

OMFG no-one else in this generation of pop singers even compares, not Beyonce, nor Ariana. Her vocals are so effortless, her lower register just glides into her higher in like .1 of a second. Her head voice is light like a fairy then she goes low like a bear, any trained vocalist would struggle with. She's like some kind of vocal freak.

My god her voice is just out of this world. I honestly have not heard such a range and depth and pretty much the whole package in singing talent. I get goosebumps over the goosebumps I already had. I pray the Lord to protect mariah Carey and give her long life. Wouldn't want her to end like other great artists like Whitney Houston. When you think about it this generation doesn't have a singer with this kind of voice. Some people said ariana grande but her voice is simply too flat. Mariah has range via surpass every key note in the pentagram. Ariana just feels like she just raise the volume. And you can tell she's not a complete artist because use has to bust her ass moving dancing in the stage to compensate her lack of singing talent. Mariah didn't have to do any of that shit even when she came out she only had to stand there and belt her voice and blow everyone away.

Mariah was put on God's earth to sing. A world where Mariah isn't blessing us with her voice, is a world I don't want to be part of. Y'all can keep your Ariana. I would literally take Mariah 100 out of 100 times. That the two of them even get compared is pure clownery to me.

God I wish I was old enough to have experienced young Mariah live. I still love her now but it isn't quite the same now.

this is so underrated!!! not a #1 because..???? We aren't just witnessing a beautiful face or astonishing voice, this masterpiece of a song's message is so fulfilling and restoring
