It’s just in terms of her overworking her voice throughout the years... and maybe it has to do a little bit with life choices (aka Alcohol, etc.), but I think people should watch her most recent performance from GMA (Vision of Love) and she sounds better than 2018-2019 imo

Since no one wanted to say it, I will. This is the best vocal performance a woman has ever done. Incomparable Mariah Carey.

joangocha Mariah sang the song almost exactly the way Harry Nelson sang it. She just brought the song to a broader audience. Harry Nelson version was in 1974 so it was almost 20 years old so most teenagers didn't even know the song so that's how they only relate to Mariah Carey singing it because she's the only one that they have heard sing it. Just like I will always love you by Whitney Houston everyone considers that Whitney Houston song but it was written and recorded originally but Dolly Parton.

Analytical Vocal coach yes people tend to forget, being in her presence is undeniably the best experience ever. I went to her caution concert and it was the best thing ever, the crowd mesmerized by her presence and voice. The media may have gotten a little better but seeing her in person shows you how much has yet to be uncovered

Actually, “Without You" is a song written by Pete Ham and Tom Evans of British rock group Badfinger, and first released on their 1970 album No Dice. But we can’t contest her voice and talent. Mariah Carey version of the song was best and her voice was phenomenal.

You can find the Badfinger version here too. Nilsson version is for me, I can just feel his pain. Both writer committed suicide, which makes the song even more painful.
