Absolutely right. I love MOS and BvS. Justice league should have been left in Zack Snyder's hands. I hate that god awful cover version in the opening credits and Danny Elfman' score was so weak. Extremely disappointing way to wrap things up.

Good review, the film suffers because there's Zack's vision, many of Whedon's out of place scenes, and WB's horrible management over what gets cut and what gets left in. I genuinely feel for Snyder, imagine watching something you've been working on for years and having it mauled apart by those clowns, screw WB.

We seriously need Zack Snyder's original cut of the movie, before Warner Bros. executives & Joss Whedon got involved.

I have to vent this out. Thats why I am reposting my comment from other posts. Here it is. My fellow DC fans I don't think there will be a Snyder's extended cut. Because I think they hacked his vision, desnydered half of the movie and reshot almost all of the superman scenes. Vital character building scenes missing were 1. Cyborg's college life and accident 2. Aquaman taking the costume of King Atlan 3. Cool Batman scenes (like Batman throwing trident to Aquaman) 4. Entire history lesson 5. Most of the Amazon battle scenes 6. Flash's scenes with his girlfriend etc etc I think we can imagine what transpired. WB wanted to make more money. Wanted Justice League to be like Avengers. KevinTsujihara asked who made Avengers. The 'Yes' men said it was 'Joss Whedon'. The executives said fire Zack and hire Joss. By that time Zack had finished 90% of the movie. Zack and his creative team was removed. And Joss was brought in. The new team had no respect for Zack and Terrio's vision and philosophy. They reshot the entire Superman's arc. They practically destroyed Snyder's work and patched up an excuse of a movie out of the shredded pieces of Zack's work. The most annoying part for me was the utter disrespect they had for the DC comic materials especially Batman. Batman is supposed to be the smartest guy in the room and is always respected by the league members. Here he was a like a Birthday clown cracking jokes and getting mocked by his team. You can just imagine why Ben doesn't want to play Batman anymore. Whenever Superman came on screen, I was shaking my head with disappointment. Even a 10 year old child with minimal photoshop skills could have done a better work than this technical team who worked on Superman. I heard Zack has not seen the movie. I hope Snyder doesn't see this pile of crap they botched up. I know that this will break his heart. And what we saw on screen was not the Justice League story of Zack and Terrio. Though I saw MOS and BVS multiple times, I don't think I will see this movie again. I am not a hater. But I don't think these WB team deserves the respect and money of us fans. And the pathetic part is that these WB execs made trailers and promos with Zack's visuals and Junkie XL's music, and sold us a Joss Whedon "trailer" of a movie with Awful Elfman Score. And they have the audacity to still beg to us for money with more promos, after knowing that fans have been betrayed. Atleast these WB executives could have let Zack complete his vision, and then do a flashpoint or some other comic book event to do their 'Marvelising' job. I feel sorry for fans and Zack Snyder. We did not deserve this. I expected a finished product at the theatre, not this mess. I don't mean to hate. I vehemently defended Zack and his vision for MOS and BVS. I liked WW, but did not feel it was something visionary. I liked Suicide squad, but the plot was too weak. But still they all were finished product of some form. But Justice League is something which I cannot defend. I think WB head and executives did a big mistake by meddling with the creative process. They destroyed the integrity of this movie to 'Marvel'ise it and it ended up being something undigestible for DC fans, Snyder fans, critics and general audience. They tried to service fans and general audience and ended up being buffoons with no critical and box office success. Sorry for the rant.

I agree to all points, we didnt feel a connection to the characters. Also sups was a bit overpowered. It's like nobody else matters. WW's strength and centuries long combat experience should atleast give her a chance. And Flash is supposed to be the fastest man alive. He runs too fast so that he can affect time. With that type of velocity he should be able to hurt sups. And coming to batman, the best thing about animated series is that the characters of Bruce Wayne and Batman is entirely different. Bruce is a billionaire playboy who enjoy life(day) with girls (sometimes), doing business and having a confident smile while batman is moody talks less and is always serious. Nowadays in movies, the only difference is the costume. He is the smartest guy in group, he is good at combat as others, gadgets and tech, he solves things before JL worries about them. He doesn't need superpowers he saves them, manages them and is emotionally stronger than all of them. Batman jokes are not said funny, it's like a serious comment which makes it funny. Also Flash was running funnily in the movie(like a dog-sorry) he should be the fastest one always, faster than light, he always talks a lot, pointless things, you know, like a kid. All other JL members are dead serious, they don't say joke, they only insult each other. There was no story for each character, no emotions shown, also batman doesn't show emotions. He is in a different maturity state than others. Seriously the direction should be better. No offence but animated series were way better in dialogues, visuals and characterisation. JL respects each other no matter what, they all have great moral code.

Bharath Shankar V K Nair I totally agree with except the part of suicide squad in the trailers they showed a lot of scenes that weren’t in the film. Now there were more scenes not shown in the trailers that would be in the movie. So it’s the same as justice league.

Literally ALL of my problems with this film has NOTHING to do with Zack Snyder. 1) The first 30 minutes felt rushed as shit. That’s on WB for once again cutting the film. 2) I didn’t like the score. That’s on Joss & Elfman for not realizing we’re in 2017. 3) It felt mcu at times, & I know damn well that wasn’t Snyder & Terrio. That’s Joss’ writing all day. It’s like he couldn’t help himself. 4) The reshoots were embarrassingly obvious. Especially with the cgi in the 3rd act. Thats on WB, Geoff, & whoever the fuck decided it was a good idea to fuck up Snyders vision. This film did do a few things for me though. First, I LOVED the scene where Supes fights the League. Secondly, Deathstroke & Lex🔥🔥. Third, this film made me appreciate what Zack did with MOS & BvS even more than I already did. I don’t give a fuck what anybody says. I don’t give a fuck if this film technically says “Directed by Zack Snyder”. This is NOT a Zack Snyder film.

It's like you said this is no way a Zack Snyder film but a film made by a bunch of suits who were clearly thinking of nothing but money and look how that turned out. It's sad that this quite possibly is Snyder's last movie in the DCEU because instead of going out with bang like I hoped, he'll leave after getting stabbed in the back by the people he thought he could trust to carry on his vision after he stepped down.

What does 2017 have to do with the score? There are still classic traditional orchestral scores that sound great today, it's just that Elfman's score for the most part wasn't great and was mediocre. Junkie XL and Zimmer's score for BvS was better but that has nothing to do with modern scores or anything.

The re-shoots cost a reported $50 million extra. This is now a $300 million movie, no wonder it's 93.8 million opening is considered "disappointing" within the industry.

I agree. I think that Snyder was going for an overall arc, that at first it’s dark, and then, as time goes on, the light emerges with the Justice League.

It was so painful to watch. Also being a fan of Man of steel and BVS, the film made me cringe. the most beautiful shots of batman and the flash where there but was tarnished by studio interference and Whedon's aweful editing and direction.

You are absolutely right about everything with this film. ESPECIALLY with the return of Superman. It is such a blah reemergence because it gave a feeling of "is that it?" . As you mentioned, why is Superman upset with everyone? This film is beat for beat, plot wise, the Avengers except in a DC Skin and I would say a little bit goofy. It is quite sad really because aside from giving the public a safe and friendly popcorn film you sacrifice a truly amazing Justice League story from a filmmaker who had a complete vision & arch starting from Man of Steel that continued with Batman v Superman, an added chapter with Wonder Woman to Justice League. There is ONE complete Zack Snyder sequence in this film and i believe it is that opening montage credits. It is fitting given the song and tearful knowing that might be Snyder's farewell to this DC universe. I am sorry, Superman was very corny at the end. If this is the Superman you always wanted then keep it.

Like the digitally removed moustache made Justice League better. They'd might as well left it on, with all the other shit. Aquaman got no proper entry, he just had to stand in between a bunch of fishermen. WTF?

There was a part of me that disliked BvS, but now seeing JL, I realized that BvS indeed was a better movie.

It's as if they hired Whedon knowing he'd fuck up the film. I mean, seriously? Replacing Zack Snyder, the one director in mainstream Hollywood that isn't afraid to challange his audiences and to give them complex deep, serious movies (even if they don't apreciate them), with Joss Whedon, a dude that makes trendy, hip, harmless and goofy films with "witty" dialogue? That was a bad call, a really, really bad call.

iamthatroby I totally agree with you. I took my kid to see it and she came out of the movie confused. She literally said well, it started out slow, but it was too light. Her actual words after that were...."Honestly, it was a forgettable movie because it is back and forth build-up, then they win in literally 10 minutes. Btw....she is 12. She said the same thing about Superman. What's the point in bringing him back like that. When I explained to her about having two different directors, she was literally blown away to learn why Zack had to walk away for awhile. While I hope Zack comes back, I cant even begin to fathom what he's going though. His daughter had a lot going for her.....so thank you for posting this donation link. Before her suicide, his daughter did some inspiring things trying to help single mothers in poverty. All in all, I agree with you on the movie brother. Maybe it can all can be pulled back from the brink if Warner Bros make the right moves, but this isnt the Avengers. And THIS isn't supposed to be 1978 superman.....yeesh. The race at the end.......I cant handle cheesy superman anymore. I prefer Christopher Nolan type heros. Doses of reality rather than cheesy puns.. .."now I wish I really had died???" Ugh. Not that it didnt need some comradary, buuuuttttt, they went kinda overboard and lost their TRUE anchor.

I really enjoyed the film and I thought that it was really good but I have to agree that the Whedonization of the film made it worse, not better. As Klorg Lork below denotes "Joss Whedon is a fucking joke". His mentality of putting a damn joke in EVERY fucking scene to lighten it up destroys films.

My thoughts exactly. A movie so tonally disoriented. And I thought the fight scenes were bad as well. I mean in BvS, the car chase, the Knightmare, the warehouse, all of those were breathtaking. They were made even more powerful by Zimmer's violent score. It looked a lot more like a plain exchange of punches in Justice League, except for a few exceptions

It's not just what was reshot, it's what they forced Snyder to change before and during principal photography. They clearly made him redo his whole method of rebirthing Superman. It was clear from end of BvS and Snyder's comments that there was going to be some mystery surrounding Superman, that his body would disappear from his gravesite, and the recovery of his body was going to be part of the original subplot. Instead Snyder gets forced to change the entire method. Stupid.

I don't know about you, but my theater went crazy on almost every alternate scene. I felt like i was sitting in a sports stadium.

Yes THANK YOU for calling out the casket scene in BvS not lining up with Superman being dead. Like it was clearly suggesting Superman's powers still worked and that like the Death of Superman comic arc he was just in a weird Kryptonian healing coma.

JL was a really fun movie, but it was disappointing . This was not the film I had imagined after seeing the trailers. 1) I feel WB departed way too much in the tone. This movie should have felt like a conclusion to the Superman arc from MOS and BVS. I would have liked to see things from MOS and BVS tied into this. The luthor demon painting and knightmare scene hinted at something more sinister but we got a silly throw away villian. There were no stakes, Doomsday was more of a threat than Steppenwolf. 2)The score was weak IMO. One thing DCEU had going for it was its themes. Compare MOS theme, WW theme, Batmans theme and a beautiful lie from BVS to JL. I hate that Joss fired Junkie XL and got such a generic score instead. 3) This movie didn't feel epic. The fight on Krypton in MOS, the warehouse scene in BVS was better than any action in this film. It just felt really simple and basic with no real stakes involved. Compare the superman montage scene from BVS or Supermans first flight in MOS to JL it just seems really generic. 4) My biggest issue was with supermans resurrection. I wanted to see more of how the world was reacting without Superman. I wanted to see how steppenwolf and the para demons were cauing havoc in the real world, which would have made Supermans return that much more satisfying. It would have been amazing if Steppenwolf was the one who revived superman and set him on the JL. Imagine supes with long hair and beard and black suit against the JL. I wanted to see superman flying through metropolis at the end after really saving the world from Steppenwolf and the hope in lois and everyones eyes when they see him alive again. The dream scene of clark in the trailer with lois had more of an emotional impact than the scenes we got in the movie.

You're right on all accounts, and all of that is to blame on WB having Whedon take Snyder's movie and just braking it, changing it completely. We won't get to see the final part of the "Superman trilogy" that Snyder was doing. JL certainly has nothing to do with it, WB decided they didn't want that, and they completely fucked the movie because of it.

I think the "everybody knows" scene added to the hope, since as Lois said you can't have the hope without the dark. It is also establishes characters troubled past and grief that they struggle to move forward from. I think it could have been added onto with Batman sadly looking at Joason's suit, and cyborg being created.

Totally agree... Zach, the acters who made these films, and THE FANS (the ones these films were made for) HAVE BEEN ROBBED! I agree with Vishan Silva. The reason I didn't like MoS and BvS is that these movies totally butchered Superman. It's his dark, destroying, killing, unrelatable and unlikeable doppelganger, not Superman. And I felt totally nothing when he died. Justice League finally brought up Superman who actually IS Superman, not Batman in colorful tights, not destroyer of Metropolis, not brooding parody to himself...

Dog96Soldier Superman is here for almost a century now. There's reason why he is called beacon of hope. He and Metropolis have always been the opposite to the darkness of Batman and Gotham. It's a contrast which makes these characters so interesting. Zack Snyder destroyed that contrast. I won't say Snyder made Superman a villain, but he was certainly very close to actually do it. I almost began to laugh when the newspapers in JL said that with Superman's death also died hope... What hope?? Such character as Snyder's Superman could never be symbol of hope. People would fear him! You say Superman was great in MoS and BvS, because it was change... That's ridiculous. No change is good just for the sake of change. And you can't mess with such well known characters that much. You could, in some parallel world, not in mainstream movie. What would you say if Batman began to go out on day, wearing light rainbow outfit and making quips every 30 seconds? That change is good and we should not be such traditionalists?

Dawn Of Justice is the best superhero movie since The Dark Knight. Does it have issues? Yes Does Luther not really fit the role? Yes However I have watched it maybe 10 times and I’m gonna watch it again tomorrow. The soundtrack alone is on par with Star Wars originals. The soundtracks saved on my phone and I listen to it more than chart music now. It’s 10/10. JUSTICE was worse than Suicide Squad and that was crap. JL is just utter trash. Sorry but it’s just terrible

Frankenstein monster nails it. Saddens me. I loved BvS. Loved MOS. But this movie could have been amazing. I was so hyped I couldn't stop thinking about it. JL isn't the worst super hero or movie ever. It does some things right. But the truth is, it doesn't know what it wants to be. And to think that these pros who are doing the editing and directing are supposed to know these things in homeschool film class. Grade school errors. I still had a good time at the theatres but after my second viewing I can't unsee the CGI mustache removal and it takes you away from the film. Poor poor decision making.

This film is shit, i hated it. It's not a snyder film and it triggers me so much

The scene of Superman fighting the JL does add something to the scene, it shows how freaked out he was from coming back from the dead. He did know Wonder Woman, as well as Batman - he hasn’t met Flash or Cyborg, so don’t get your point. This doesn’t go against BvS or MoS, he was shaken up BY COMING BACK FROM THE FUCKING DEAD.

I found that most of the problems come from Josh wehdon. Zach Snyder's vision was better for this movie but again Josh wehdon screwed up the film if he had just left it as Zach Snyder's vision it would have been a lot better

This movie hurt me from the very start, that first scene set the tone for me, and not a good one because that wasn't Zack, he would never start a movie like that.

This movie is an example of how character development, direction, and writing is so important

I absolutely loved Man of Steel and Batman V Superman but I can't put into words how disappointed I was with Justice League. Superman was basically turned into a cringe inducing cartoon.

Got to say I love that overseas Blu-Ray cover of the ultimate edition you have because 1. It doesn't have Wonder Woman 2. Armored Batman posing with Superman on the cover

What went on in WB meeting: Let's put all the heroes together like Marvel did. Who is the bad guy? Put bad guy number 2, reserve the big one for JL part 2. Should we add story to the bad guy? Nah...cut it out, people are too dumb to bother with that. Lastly, make it like Marvel, put more jokes in it. *Concludes meeting with a brunch

You know what, im actually grateful for this movie because it made me realize how great man of steel and batman vs superman are. I watched them both after watching JL and i thought to myself, wow these movies are Awesome! Compare to justice league. Sure BvS has its flaws like the annoying portrayal of lex luthor but if you see past them, it is actually a great movie.

7:00 I think that would have been too much of a deus ex machina, I agree the scene he comes back has problems though. Maybe he could be at low power when they revive him, and then spend hours in the cornfield to recharge his cells

I was so broken hearted leaving this film. Just broken, and defeated. As a massive fan of Zack, his two preceeding films, and the DCEU, I was ready to see the seeds of his vision grow to fruition in this film. Joss ruined that, and not only ruined it, but his selfish interference makes Batman V Superman's allusions to the universe's future events to come, seem Ludacris in retrospect, because Joss Whedon changed that future. Zack trusted him to finish his film when he was in mourning for his teenage daughters passing, and add the little levity the studio wanted, while carrying out his story and vision; and instead, Joss just did his own thing, erased half of Zack's story, an effort that took over 4 years of Zack's life I might add, and replaced that story with another story that was Not earned or built towards properly. Essentially drawing fun cartoons on Zack's Sistine Chapel ceiling. It's heart breaking to me. My eyes began to water in theatre I was so upset. And it's frustrating how many people think that Zack is some kind of hack because they have no understanding of the brilliant complexities of his work. I felt like a rug had been pulled out from under my feet by Warner Bros. and Joss Whedon. I see every DCEU Movie in theatres multiple times, I buy all the films, I'm a massive fan of Snyder's work and DC Comics, I Have Been On Board Advocating This Brand and Singing It's Praises from Day One, with a whole hell of a lot of other people who have too, about 50% to be exact, and then they go and do THIS for the Other 50%. Because they know I'll see it anyway. It made me sick. I watch BvS and how awesome it is, and the Justice League that it promised to follow, and it hurts more because we're never gonna get it. And people think 'Calm down, it's just a movie.' And maybe to them it is, because Snyder's films didn't speak to them, and they don't really care THAT much, they just wanted to have a good time. And that's what's really messed up. Because now Justice League is like this FOR THEM. And they don't even really care. And WE'RE the ones who have to swallow this movie now. And they wonder why it didn't make over 100 Million Opening Weekend. Because they created a fan base. Alienated and burned that fan base with a weird CGI lip and bastardizations of the original foundations. After having continuously burned the "casual movie goer" with preceeding instalments who might have actually dug the previous films to begin with If They Hadn't Have Meddled With Their Directors Vision's in the FIRST PLACE for their theatrical releases! I felt so betrayed, as I imagine Zack does, shown in the fact that he won't even watch this movie. I have hope though. And it's a hail Mary. But I hope.. That ONE day, SOMEONE will see what a grave INJUSTICE this was, and they let ZACK do what they let Richard Donner do for Superman ll: Go back, decades later, and do what he never got to. FINISH. HIS. MOVIE. Put it out on whatever the blu ray is of the future, 30 years from now, and sell it to saps like me, and anyone who looked back at history and said "Damn. But wouldn't Zack's movie have been great" to buy and cherish in the film nirvana of better Late than Never, FOREVER. There. There's My WRITTEN essay of how *I* feel.

I like all dceu movies, even JL. I do think it had a lot of problems, but I found a lot of things to like. I don’t want to get hate, but I enjoyed it more then Thor 3. Thor 3 got a 92% so after I saw it I was disappointed ghat it was fine.... then JL got bad reviews, but I was surprised that I enjoyed it.

I was actually depressed leaving the theatre, such a missed opportunity. Luckily The Punisher is also out and it was SO GOOD

I had the opposite experience, I had fun and absolutely loved Justice League! It was an escape for me from everyday life. But then I tried to watch 'The Puncher' and got a smacked back to reality by its dark and grittiness and started to feel a little depressed

Justice League left me in a good mood and I still am. I'm gonna enjoy it for a little longer before I dive back in lol. And when I do, I'll be ready to check out The Punisher

I'm excited. DC, and DC Fans got exactly what it deserved, and exactly why you asked for by supporting the garbage films they've put out so far. We tried to tell you the DCEU was a dumpster fire, and now there is no denying it.

Man, the whole reason why WB messed with Justice League so much was that they just could trust Snyder's vision anymore. If MOS and BvS were good films we would have had Snyder's Justice League. The studio didn't mess with Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, because he managed to make good films resulting in good Box Office numbers. Nolan can make dark gritty films well, Snyder not so much. If he could we would have now dark and gritty JL film. It's as simple as that.

The cuts didn't allow any development of the villain whatsoever, the Superman rebirth didn't have the gravitas it needed after his dramatic death in BvS

Feel the exact same way. I’m legitimately heartbroken over how fucking awful this turned out.

Idk who's to blame whether wb or jos whedon. This movie seemed cut to shreds. No story... just a bit of action and some cheesy attempts at humor. Even Marvel comes across more serious these days and DC is meant to be dark... not this shit fest... even bvs and mos were better.

So Joss tweedon was the only director they could find to finish the movie. They couldn't bloody find anyone else.

MoS, BvS were great movies.. As a fan of those movies, I was let down by Whedon.

Zach Rowe not nearly that bad, JL was much more enjoyable than I expected, but as a fan of MOS and BvS, it is frustrating the way they have tried to lighten up the tone, and clearly at least 30 minutes has been removed, which is disappointing considering the epic feeling long runtime of the previous films.

Zach Rowe JL is far better but still pretty lackluster for what a JL movie should be. I was expecting an Avengers type movie except without the jokes and a much darker tone.

It’s worse than suicide squad in my opinion

Wb got scared of marvels numbers and instead of sticking to a well constructed vision tried to re edit the film into a marvel ripoff. Nothing plays through. They set up plots and emotions and builds interest then two minutes later immediately closed these pieces of story and did this like 30 times over and over. There was no rise of tension. And by the halfway point there was no real threat to defeat. No arcs and no emotional connections to be made. Lots of joss whedon joke scenes that didn't hit their mark and a substanceless mismatched story in the end. I don't blame joss or zack. I blame the disney juggernaught scaring wb and their reaction to recoil on zacks original vision.

BatFleck was obese, Gal Gadot was pregnant, and you could kinda tell they didn’t wanna be in the reshoots . If you really watch.

This is the result of Geoff Jones ' light, hope, love, fun! There you got a fucking mess!

Sapo Barranquero - Geoff tried to curtail a lot of what Snyder did in MoS & BvS but he had no power. Once BvS was slammed by critics then Geoff Johns was given more power. However, Snyder was already filming JL while BvS was getting ripped by critics. U really won't see what true Geoff John's governance is till afterJL. This was the last Snyder script for the DCEU. So just hold on guys - we are gonna get what we want. Just be a little more patient.

You know what surprised me the most, all of the butt shots of Wonder Woman....- I thought I was watching the Fast and the Furious

I feel like if we got Zach Snyder's cut of Justice League, in hindsight, Batman v Superman would be praised. I feel like Dawn of Justice was meant to be part 1, and Justice League was meant to be part 2. Like they were meant to go hand in hand, But Joss Wheddon tried really hard to separate the two. I don't think he's a bad director necessarily, I mean I really liked the original Avengers (it's a little overrated imo) and while I didn't like Age of Ultron it had some good things in it. But I don't think he understands these characters, especially the way Snyder envisioned them

Okay but MoS was good i agree except the last fight scene didn't feel like a final fight...it felt more like the fight was from middle and too much lengthy...so MoS was average. BvS was crap but ultimate edition was good and by good i meant really good. JL was sure too rushed and villain had flaw but i still believe it's the best out of three...and all those who says Superman is interpreted badly ...hell no!! He is a one liner at times even in comics okay.... It's not bad to portray him as some funny one liner. I loved his entry and through out THE WHOLE MOVIE...No complains except few cgi and rushing and villain flaw.

I somewhat agree with you. Also, not that you explicitly did it, but I do not like the BvS argument that "you need to watch the ultimate edition." I'm sorry but if that is the case then why wasn't that the movie that was released? Making a movie better is fine, but I shouldn't have to go out of my way to make a crappy movie good.

I think if you were to watch the Zach Snyder version you'd have a lot more 15 minute subplots than you think. My guess is Whedon cut out an hour's worth of unnecessary 15 minute subplots.

Thats the thing: at first everyone was complaining about snyder having "too much influence and control over the style of the DCEU" (something I actually agree with in both the good and bad aspect), being too serious and dark, about it being just about death and "marvel talks about deeper themes, being double the fun and enjoyment,making better choices" Now, everybody wants fucking Snyder back and complains about the whole thing being too funny and enjoyable.

But the undeniable fact is that the majority of people DO like Snyder's take on the DCEU. Man of Steel has a 75% audience score on RT, a 7.1 on IMDB, and a user score of 7.5 on Metacritic. Similarly, BvS has a 63% on RT, a 6.6 on IMDB, and a 7.0 on Metacritic. These scores demonstrate quite clearly that, no matter how hard the haters try to convince themselves otherwise, the majority of people enjoyed Snyder's first two DC movies.

Whedon sucks. He RUINS everything he touches. And now, we've lost probably one of the biggest superheroe movies of all time. And don't get me started with the horrible music that Elfman used for this. Absolutely horrible

It's clear that WB does not have a vision about their DC Universe and their movies clearly suffered from it, from day one. Everything they do is just a reaction to Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel has Avengers, well we'll have Justice League despite having no foundation to build the team-up upon! They have Civil War, here we shove Batman v Superman up your ***! I'm pretty sure the only reason they chose Zack Snyder to helm their universe at the beginning is because he was the furthest director they could think of from the MCU. And once they see that it doesn't work, what's the first thing they did? HIRE THE GUY WHO MADE AVENGERS.

I completely agree. It was years of buildup to this film and then all those threads were abandoned and deep themes ruined and instead we get silly jokes and a family living in Chernoble.

Paused the video 2 mins because I have to say: I love Superman and what Zack has done with the character, yet I hate Justice League. One of the worst things about this film is how they handled him. In fact, most of the characters were handled poorly, but I think Batman and Supes were the worst as they were so vastly different from the previous movies without any reason to be. Anyway... back to the video.

EXACTLY my thoughts. Spot on.

This is how I felt about bvs, it was a complete joke and really wish someone who cared about these characters worked towards making a good film. (not to say Snyder doesn't care about his films but I can't stand them)

Devon Palmer Agree 100% Snyder doesn't care about the characters and the source material. Superman is not the Superman from the comics at all. Batman from the comics never kills if he can help it. How many people did Batman kill in BvS? Snyder said in an interview that if he were doing Batman's origin story that he would have him get raped in prison. This guy does not care about these characters or what they've represented to so many people for so many years (decades really). Does he care about his films? Yes. Some of his fight scenes are incredible. He's a great cinematographer. Some of the comments have talked about the allegory that Snyder and Goyer and Terrio tried to do with MoS and BvS. I don't think they quite pulled all of that off, but I give them credit for trying. But ultimately, I think Snyder is trying to do his own take on the DC universe and I've never liked it. However, it also seems to be a very consistent theme that the reshoots are glaringly obvious. If you have a bunch of Snyder scenes and you're doing reshoots, you want those reshoots to reflect the tone and continuity of the Snyder scenes, irrespective of what you think of Snyder. I'm still looking forward to seeing JL for myself, but it sounds like DC screwed up a good opportunity to do better. I'm really hoping they fix some things and move forward with better movies in the future. Also, DC is making a mistake by trying to accomplish what Marvel did in 15 films with only 5 films. That's a big mistake. They should take their time and do it their own way. Marvel's way works for them and DC should have their own different way of doing things that works for them.

WB should’ve postponed & let Zack Snyder have his time to morn the loss of his daughter until he could come back and finish JL. I really wanna see what Zack Snyder’s original vision for this movie was, before the suits got involved.

The moment when you actually love Justice League. I love Zack as well. But we need to let him go.

I've been mulling over this movie all weekend, and you really articulated how I felt about it. The reshoots were completely unnecessary because they were just replacing slightly humorous lines from Snyder/Terrio with ... slightly humorous lines from Whedon, and often, the replaced dialogue makes less sense for the characters/context. There were parts I loved about JL, but it was so rushed and so obviously done to eliminate Snyder's sensibility that it's hard to look past those flaws. At least we'll always have MOS and BVS. :/
