I have a friend who believes Marvel paid Rotten Tomatoes (which Warner Bros owns 30% of) to give Justice League and other DCEU movies bad reviews I asked him for evidence, his response was "As if Disney would leave evidence." You gotta agree no matter what side you're on, that is some flawed logic right there

I Am a hardcore marvel fan. Been one since i was a kid. But i also grew up with the justice league cartoon and i have a fondness of DC in my heart. You summed it up perfectly my friend.

Especially with that background music lol but honestly i enjoyed the movie. It's not perfect but it isn't that terrible. Hopefully DC movies will get so much better after this. I'm tired of Marvel fans shitting on DC every chance they get. This is coming from a big Marvel and DC fan. I want DC to be great too.

Redfyre Fox I don't think those "Marvel fans" you speak of are genuine marvel fans I'm pretty sure they're just people who watch the movies exclusively I feel true marvel fans love DC alot and true DC fans love marvel alot we read the comics we see the animated shows and films we know what's best for each universe better than any of the live action movie only "fans" could ever know. They never bother to look at the other side and see all the potential is holds and how great it could be they only see competition. I feel those are the same people that refuse to acknowledge any problems in their respective universes and prevent fixes that could make everything better. You saw it all the time with people who said that batman vs superman was "too mature" for people who were pointing out how horribly written everything was. You saw it with people who refused to acknowledge that age of ultron wasn't that great and that ultron was portrayed horribly in that film. These people by choosing to ignore these problems make things worse in the long run there's no way they're true fans no true fan would want the worst for their most beloved characters.

Exactly. It's so weird, I liked the movie, and I feel like it set the films in the right direction, but when I look back at Batman v Superman (which I hate) I realize how inconsistent justice league is. There's no tone at all, and the cgi was very spotty. At least batman v superman was consistent to what it was. Justice league feels like a bunch of random sequences edited together to make a story that could have been so much better

Rhett S I think the problem is and many in wb realized is that unfortunately the general tone of bvs turned a lot of the general audience off which is the main source of profit. I think many thought batman vs superman in this era where comic hero movies are very popular would be enough even we darkened them a bit or a lot. But it is not. The main audience doesn't care about that stuff ,they see a trailer,they think it could be an interesting movie,they go watch it,if it is interesting they will come back for the next story based on that,if not then most of them are done. So since a lot of people myself included who went to see the movie at the cinema and didn't like it,we are highly unlikely to go back for justice league. It is simple. Now at a critic's point of view you are right that seeing them side by side they are inconsistent but the fact is if that general tone and this more hopeful story was a part of bvs instead of what they used a lot more casual viewers would be with them. Most of the people didn't know about snyder or whedon,in my country many were the bvs was bad why would I bother with jl instead of seeing a movie I will probably enjoy more.

First, Barry Allen complains to Batman when he gets recruited for the Justice League about brunch. He says that he doesn't "get" brunch because people stand in line for an hour for what is essentially lunch. In the post credit's scene when he races Superman, Barry Allen agrees to take everyone to brunch if he loses.

Polaris Castillo I knew from the trailers that he was gonna be very awkward and artificial. I didn't like the trailer much because I love Flash and Miller disappointed me. Most of the blame is with writers but Miller was never a good choice for Flash. Now we have to live to see him in yet another shitshow

I had problems with Superman. BvS Superman and JL Superman are like two completely different characters. One is too serious the other is Two Corny. It felt off putting to me.

In my opinion, this is the most painfully 7/10 blockbuster I've ever seen. It never once strives for greatness and was perfectly fine being "okay" but there was nothing that stands out as obviously "bad" about it either. Disappointing but as a fan of the DCEU I'm just glad it wasn't horrible.

snyder was making another batman v superman. that joss whedon, surrounded by a committee of clueless warner brothers executives, was able to improve it as much as he was was kind of a miracle.

You pretty much summed up what I felt about Justice League. When I was three, I fell in love with superheroes for the first time...I loved Superman's animated series. Then I saw Justice League and Batman the Animated Series. I started liking Spider-Man after I saw these guys. With all of the meh to bad movies in the DCEU (except for Wonder Woman... It has a pretty underwhelming climax, but is really good), I ready wanted Justice League to succeed. I really hoped that it was amazing. But it wasn't. There were only a few good moments in the movie, and I can count them on just one hand. A lot of the characters were out of place, Superman was likeable but made the villain into a punching bag and made the league useless. There are barely any standout moment for the main characters. For example, in the Avengers, you can take each character and think of at least one standout moment they had. The villain was terrible, the CGI was weird, the battle was so..... meh. I honestly blame WB. They fuck around with the director's vision and property too much. That is why so many directors leave the DCEU

That's a meh excuse for DCEU's failure. WB is probably responsible for making the movie watchable, because Snyder's cut was huge, from what I've heard. Now it's the directors responsibility to write a decent script, well placed dialogue, make a character's backstory understandable, manage the time of the movie, and make us feel emotionally connected to the characters, create empathy. Snyder and co. didn't manage any of that except in a very few scenes. Also, if you think WB is the problem, look at their track record this decade: Wonder Woman, Book of Eli, Blade Runner 2049, Lego Batman, The Nice Guys, Creed, Mad Max, Her, Interstellar, etc... If they were bad producers, why would so many movies they produce be nice movies? All a producer does is try to make a film better. Watchable. They will tell you which scenes don't work well, and do their best so that you don't screw up. And if you have a good vision, a producer will generally understand and believe in your vision. Now, what I see from BvS, for example, is that Snyder's vision is an absolute mess, and there's no point in blaming the producers, when your Director's cut is just as bad. At one point, you have to take responsibility and say - I'm out of my league here, I shouldn't be using these characters if I don't know them this well, and don't know how to write them.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that felt this way about the movie. I wanted it to succeed so badly, but it did the exact opposite. Batman made these jokes that were uncharacteristic of him based on the Suicide Squad and BvS. And yes, superman made the JL completely redundant. I just found it stupid how it took the Amazons, Atlanteans, mankind’s army, at least one Green Lantern, and a few gods including Zeus to put away Steppenwolf, but superman made defeating him in the end a complete joke. The scene where superman out does Flash when trying to save people perfectly illustrates why the JL appears to be redundant in the movie. Flash had a big head start leaving the town to save its people, then superman somehow catches up AFTER beating Steppenwolf down AND saves more people than Barry. Also, the Flash runs so awkwardly at the end. I actually busted out laughing by mistake.

Daniel Azevedo Comparing 'Justice League' and the whole DCEU to the films you've mentioned seems unfair. 'The Nice Guys' wasn't a 'Warner Bros.' film, it was a Shane Black film. 'Blade Runner 2049' was directed by Denis Villeneuve. Those directors handled their respective films so well, the studio didn't have to cut too much with it. Snyder certainly ain't as great as Villeneuve but try putting those films in a cinematic universe and under a schedule. Producers don't always try to make films "watchable", they try to make it commercial. Martin Brest intended 'Gigli' to be a black comedy, the producers wanted it to be a romantic-comedy. Producers ruined the first cut of 'Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid' and the US version of 'Once Upon a Time in America'.

They adapted from the 90s comics aka one of the worst decades in comic history if not the worst. Dark Knight Returns is not a bad comic but the edginess it brought (plus it's sequels) were toxic to the comic world. Death of Superman, rad Aquaman etc are famous things but are not looked back good, more like an attempt to sell as much as they which looks like is exactly what the DCEU is trying. The reason knightfall exists was to prove that a Batman who kills is a bad idea and they made him a murderer in this universe. Terrible, just terrible

I just thinking that the DCEU is bad. I honestly think that DC comics, you see the Injustice 2, you see the Justice League Animated Series, Batman Animated. WHO SAYS DC don't understand their heroes?! they DO! But the WB doesn't get it, and involves too much in the movie production, and hired a wrong guy Zack Snyder, who only knows how to adapt, but don't know how to create new things in the movie that tonally aligned with what should be DCEU own direction.

DC doesn't do character development.... You can't pick random characters and make a movie because you want to make a movie like Avengers (Every Avenger got their movie before Avengers) If someone from Cyborg, Flash, Aqua Man or (new) Batman dies you will not even feel for them because you don't know anything about them, they don't have proper back story you can relate to.

He just started really using his powers more. He's new to it and hasn't had much time to practice. Doubt you'd get the hang of being a speedster quickly, and that's saying something for a speedster

I honestly felt the same way, Flash was really poorly written and the superman at the end. I honestly wanted them to finish the whole battle at the end without Superman. Maybe have the rest of the team defeat Stepphenwolf by themselves and have Superman save the people. I mean you have a powerful demigod, an atlantean, the fastest man alive (or kid), a guy fused with alien technology that is constantly evolving, and the greatest detective. And they only won because Supermam showed up and had to pretty much do everything for them.

How can anyone had high expectetions for this movie after BvS and Suicide squad? I had such low expectections that this movie didn't dissapoint me at all.

Thor ragnarok was a way better movie I was entertained and felt like I wanted to be there but justice league just didn't do that

Water Vapour Thor was a average marvel mediocre at best. At this point it’s popular culture to bash DC movies. Thor is not as great as everyone is making it out. Justice league is not as bad as people are trying to say. I had some real issues with Thor and it just reminded me how people are so easily influenced on what to like and hate.

The Lemming no it’s not that someone’s “disagrees.” It’s about the hypocrisy of movie goers and how we judge media. The complaints about justice league are valid but they nothing I haven’t seen in other marvel movies which for most of the time most people seem to look over and be fine with. I mean it’s not that hard to read reviews and internets blurbs. Now it seems to be the “popular” thing to diss dc movies. Not much they could’ve done you follow marvels formula you get called out for trying to be marvel. You go against the grain and do something different you get BvS, which most people hated. You try and compromise and make a justice league family friendly movie and correct mistakes from last movie being to dark amongst other issues. Now everyone hates justice league for the same reasons they seem to love marvel movies. It’s cool your opinion but you are an obvious fanboy. I love both dc and marvel I’m just not in the mentality to always stroke and suck marvels cock for mostly mediocre projects. I’m also not afraid to call them out for it either. Maintaining balance is some thing I need you seem to like fueling the fire of dc v marvel and the whole “watch dc burn” comment these are movies at the end of the day lol. I’d rather see both properties strive and push for better movies because in all honestly I’m tired of these jokey jokey superheroes movies we’ve been getting beyond Logan

I don't care how new The Flash is to being a hero. The Flash shouldn't be getting shot with a bullet. Quicksilver in X-men literally runs around multiple bullets and pushed them while listening to music.

I really hope they dont do Flashpoint. Ezra Miller just is not Barry Allen in any way, and I just cant see this character as a lead

The two things I laughed at were as follows: - the concept of the person claiming her husband was abducted. I didn't like the execution. - the concept of Batman murdering Barry when he throws the batarang because he turned out to actually be an ice skater without powers.

I really liked the movie and I can definitely see why you pretty much hated it. I do respect your opinion but you gotta admit, when Superman looked behind and fought flash in super speed it was pretty awesome :)

This movie was terrible. I hated it. Batman is too open with his identity. Steppenwolf is a terrible villain. I hated the CG face Superman's face had. Sometimes Flash was annoying. Cyborg works better as a Titan. Make John Stewart the Green Lantern. Other times he was good but overall I hated it.

Dude I love dc just as much as marvels. Marvel is making great movies but dc, I’m kinda sad. I want dc to be as good as marvels and maybe at some point, marvels and dc do a collaboration. Yo I feel like crying not even joking. I hope it gets better.

I agree with Da Cam that they just need good writers and director and let the director realize his vision (not rush the stories, no wb interference etc). that's not to say snyder did a bad job. i love his works, but maybe experiment with new direction (with his input too) and see how it goes. i have hopes for the next dc movies, i'm optimist they will be better. i cant wait for batman's solo movies.

I agree with you on flash. But for me the worst representation of a comic character in the new movies has to go to Lex Luther. He is nothing like Lex, with a borderline unpleasant performance. It honestly dwarfs Flash in my opinion. At least he has a red suit and runs fast. I think they could have just changed his name to Wally and it would have been closer to acceptable. I don't know what they could have done to make me accept this new Lex. Its not like I hate any deviation from the comics. Heath Ledgers Joker did not remind me of any Joker I am familiar with, but they blazed a new trail and I came to like that incarnation. I was ready to accept a shitty young rich tech kid Lex, but I didn't get that in the movie. In terms of villains, Steppenwolf is forgettable, but Lex is something I wish I could forget.

I’ve only read the New 52 Superman(unchained) and Superman Doomsday. I don’t really find Superman interesting in the comics I haven’t felt too compelled to read a whole lot of him. The original Christopher Reeves Superman Movies I found to be a bit boring. The only one I remotely like is Superman 2. The reason I love Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel is that it made me feel like I was Superman, none of the other movies made me feel that way or the comic books.

WilliamFilm Dude, New 52 was not a great Superman era. Maybe New 52 Action Comics... Grant Morrison's Superman, Action Comics and Superman Rebirth. If you wanna know how you make a proper Superman with problems: Kingdom Come and Superman Peace on Earth by Alex Ross, Whatever happened to the man of tomorrow and All Star Superman. You can come back and tell me if you think the edgy Zack Snyder's version (Injustice wannabe) is a good character.

Yes, Wonder Woman is so overrated! It's good but it's not deserving of this freaking legendary status that it has now.

Wonder woman was a good film, but they could've made Ares make more sense. Guy takes out Zeus.... to what? Not rule the other gods(he kills them too) or the human race? 'Cause if all the guy wanted to do was "whisper" in people's ears just to see them fight, than I'm pretty sure Zeus would've had no quarrel with that. The greek deities were infamous in myths for messing with human kind.

It's legendary because 1)it wasn't expected to be good at all , 2) No hype like man of steel or BvS where famous characters were the hype generators themselves . 3)The director names were not as big as previous DC movie makers like Snyder or NOLAN , 4)The actress was trolled and literally had been made joke for being cast as Wonder Woman on the Internet by many people including me . 5)It was not very big budget movie so it was expected to fail like Mos, BvS had been. 6) It was a female centered Superhero movie , a thing which has not been done properly , remember Halle's Cat movie . And When the movie came , it broke all the things that I've listed above . Literally like Wonder Woman gracefully shutting every negative thought we could've imagined . That's why it's legendary .

I want to keep watching the DCEU because I want to see where they are going with it, no matter how bad it ends up being. I watch the MCU because I’m a huge Marvel fan, but I watch the DCEU because I’m a huge DC fan. The MCU is able to get away with certain things that the DCEU isn’t able to because it’s been around for almost a decade, whereas the DCEU has been around for only 4 years. And I feel that Disney and Marvel Studios made Spider-Man great again, because Spider-Man is normally a joke-y character, but at the same time he is a normal kid with normal responsibilities, and when you put his life on the line, that is where Spider-Man is at his best. He puts the lives of the innocent above his own, but when he’s on his own, he’s able to rise up and face the challenge head on. Hell, Willpower is actually listed as one of his powers. And now I’m scared to see this movie because of seeing how bad Flash was done. But I also love the Justice League tv show and comics. And the animated Flashpoint movie is among my top 10 favorite DC animated movies. And my most favorite one has to be Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. As someone who has walked between the lines, I have some form of hope for even the worst that Marvel or DC has to offer in terms of movies... Except Fant4stic. I never saw it in theaters. I avoided that fucker like the plague. I knew that film was gonna be bad from the start. And I hope that Disney and Fox make good on their Marvel deal so at least we can get a faithful version of the Fantastic Four (Which is one of my favorite superhero teams ever). But leave Deadpool alone. I fucking loved the Deadpool movie and I’m so excited for the sequel. I’m also excited to see a horror film set in the X-Men universe, which is what The New Mutants will be :)

Three years later. The Snyder Cut is finally upon us.

I'm not gonna lie I clicked on this thinking it's gonna be another one of those videos where someone talks about how X movie changed their lives and how critics suck. I had blast watching Justice League but in retrospect it was deeply flawed. I love everything you had to say. I wish we'll get a longer, more cohesive, version at some point... with maybe finished CGI.

They could have just made a Superman 2 movie with him being revived again and still could’ve had stephanwolf in it and made him better with a better background and reason why he conquered worlds and did things for Darksied to me it would’ve been a little better just saying 👌🏾

Yes. The best thing WB could do now is run with the new Superman (the bright and confident one) and make a great epic movie. But I fear they will fuck up again and make a bunch more bad decisions. I honestly don't think Aquaman will do very well. But that one is already on the way, so I guess there's not much they can do. Wonder Woman 2 will come along and hopefully be good like the first one. And ideally we would have a new Superman movie to come straight after with this new, improved Superman. Give Cavill a chance to actually enjoy himself in the role finally. Oh well. I don't have faith in WB to make the right call.

I have a question - was Joss Whedon involved with this film in writing before Zack left production? A lot of the character interaction screams Whedon to me but I don't know if it was reshoot stuff (I guess I'm really bad at spotting the reshoots or whatever).

Wow using that back story for Steppenwolf would've been so good. It could be explored the idea of him killing worlds for his own freedom and outcome, and could've explored how it's no different to us humans on a smaller scale within earth putting humans above every other species etc.

That backstory of Steppenwolf was in the movie. The film mentions after he failed to conquer earth the first time he was exiled. So he's been conquering worlds, and wants to conquer earth to go back home.

ezra's flash is the biggest example I've ever seen of taking wally west's personality and slapping the name 'barry allen' on him. it's what many modern interpretations of barry do, and I hate it, as a fan of both characters. but even then, the amount of terrible jokes from him in this movie cannot be justified by red hair and a name swap. the character was just god awful, and it's so disappointing as I'm a major flash fan ( I honestly think grant gustin's flash is better, and that's saying something because I hate his portrayal too ).

Hands down best true DC fan take on justice league. I'm a huge marvel fan, and I always said once Christopher Nolan is done bringing batman from the dead, watch WB trash the rest of the movies. That's the biggest difference between Marvel and DC, It's not because Marvel beat them to the punch, it's because Disney is letting Marvel take care of their movies, where WB is taking full control. Like leave the god damn movies alone, just supply the money and step away. When your animated films are better than your movies, that's a problem. Hell their video games are better than the movies.

I agree with much of what you say. warner brothers should stick with the comic book version and not ruin the movie with their own version. this movie was all about superman and did not let the other characters shine like they do in the comics

Also, the studio interference thing I ABSOLUTELY agree with. If the Ultimate Edition of BVS came out in theaters, imagine the positive critical reception it would've gotten. At the very least it wouldn't have gotten as much hate.

You guys know when every now and then a great movie comes out and raises the bar for all other movies. Well justice league is the opposite, it comes out and lowers the bar for all movies. It's a below average movie with honestly a single good scene. You know the one, the one with superman against flash and the league. That's it. It's a shame but this universe needs to just be rebooted and get this over with

I can't call that scene good, because the whole time I was just thinking 'which one of these grabbed the Mother Box? Where did they put it?' And then it turns out all 6 (including Alfred) just forgot about the super-weapon the whole invasion is based around and for which the protection of is paramount, especially over Superman, as his return was just in case the Box was claimed.

This is the result of studio interference and a corporate view on what they think will sell. The revival of Superman was lazy, and you’re right Superman comes and beats Steppenwolf easily.

I think Jl was better than BvS because they got the characters right. Even though I think BvS did not take batman right by the character motivations.
