Great video, I doubt they'll restore it, but I REALLY hope they can do one more movie, just wrap up the Darkseid stuff, consider it the end and do whatever else. That will make the Snyder fans happy while also not pissing off the Snyder haters since it isn't going to be back totally.

Im gonna play Devil’s Advocate here because yes, I think every director should have the opportunity to see their visions through with little interference. That being said, a bit of studio notes shouldn’t hurt the final product, but should in fact aid in giving a more streamlined story. It’s what keeps us from getting films like Heaven’s Gate, which I am admittedly a fan of despite how messy it is.

I have no idea what it is about Zack Snyder that has built a fan base like this. It’s mind boggling. To this guy, this isn’t just a movie, it’s validation. Like a movement or something. 😬 If this movie solely existed on its own - like a condensed version of this was released in theaters back in 2017 - then it wouldn’t be getting this kind of praise. It’s only getting praise for being an improvement.

I think the reason why Zack Snyder is such a divisive filmmaker is that he's the type of artist where the audience has to be the ones to adjust to him, rather than Zack having to adjust his style for the audience. When watching a Zack Snyder film, one has no choice but to simply allow himself to be on board with what Zack is doing. If they can't get behind Zack's approach, then that's when they start to dislike the film. But the thing about Zack is that his films are usually ones that the masses are very much into. He makes films about superheroes, zombies post-apocalypse, animation, and even historical epics. These are subgenres that the masses are very much into. So there are times when a person goes into one of his movies and the film starts to roll, and they find the style of the film a bit too much, and they're thinking, "Wait, I don't think I signed up for this." And that's why Zack's films are typically divisive among audiences. His films and his approach to filmmaking are not for everyone but the stories he chooses to tell are supposed to be for everyone. Personally, I'm completely on board with Zack's take on storytelling but I can understand why some people aren't fans. That being said, I think people who enjoyed Zack Synder's Justice League but weren't fans of MoS and BvS should try and give those latter films another shot. They'd find that a lot of things that they weren't a fan of, such as the more somber take on the characters and their stories, are addressed in JL through clear arcs and character development. They'd find that Zack Snyder's take on these characters wasn't dark and serious for the sake of being dark and serious, but because their journey through their story is about them starting from the dark and finding their way into the light.

how dare you invoke nuance!! don't you see that people need like 20 solo films before something substantial actually happens in the universe? seriously, that's one of the biggest critiques I've heard about the Snyder Cut. "oh it's too long owo. they should've saved Flash's and Cyborg's backstory for their solo movies". Marvel has spoiled people into believing that going to see the same movie repackaged for more than a decade is ok.

I loved Snyder’s Justice League, and it’s my personal favourite DCEU movie. The best part for me, is Bruce Wayne’s character arc. In BvS, he was broken, hateful, and alone. But, Superman’s sacrifice showed him that there’s still good in the world. In Justice League, he’s rejuvenated and enjoys the company of others. He believes in the team, the people around him. Compare and contrast the scene in BvS of Bruce down in the bat cave, scowling at his suit before he left for Luthor’s fund raiser, to the final shot of JL, with Bruce standing outside, smiling and looking off into the sunrise. He found peace through his new family.

After, watching the Snyder cut, man he was a great pick, he truly came in clutch at the end. Ray Fisher as Cyborg became one of my favorite dc characters now cuz Snyder depicted him to be like a “digital god.” You can see why Fisher was so upset all this time, Whedon screwed him. Mind blown. The amount of hate this director gets from the "good willing" people is staggering. Is it the amount of spectacle or violence in his films, or the Randian subtext... still, don't get it. Zack? woo boy. the "good willing" people are only like that with things they approve of. they reveal their true, ugliest nature when they try to tear down Snyder's work. like even directors like Lars Von Trier don't provoke as much hatred, it's unreal.

@@riteousrighthand6144 Completely agree! I think BvS is the perfect middle chapter in this trilogy and I can imagine people hating The Empire Strikes Back if Return of the Jedi turned out anything like Josstice League and then they had to wait a furthur 4 years to get the true finale. Funnily enough a lot of people didn't like TESB when it initially released just like BvS. While it is overall still my least favourite of the trilogy, I still love it and I do think it has the most interesting story, dealing with how the world would react if the Superman existed in our world

The film’s overarching theme of fatherhood and how deeply it explores it through their heroes’ journeys is done exceptionally well - especially they way Cyborg and Flash’s arcs are fleshed out. It’s every gut wrenching and emotional at times. Cyborg’s line “I’m not broken. I’m not alone.” is almost heartbreaking because it’s almost like Zack is talking to his daughter through that line. I’m so happy him and Deborah got to realize their vision and create this beautiful film for us. I don’t think people will ever forget about this film - and it might have just revolutionized the genre and industry as a whole.

Your words just made me teary eyed. As a long time fan of Zack Snyder, I’ve been all in on his projects. When JL came out I was just sad because I knew this was not his vision, but I understood that what he was going through in his personal life and the outcome of that movie really didn’t mean anything in the scheme of things. For anyone who has ever lost something in life, that crushes you, destroys you, leaves a hole in your soul, you’ll understand what this man has gone through. For him to come back and say here is my heart and my message is we can get through this together is an act of self healing for himself and the world.

I watch a lot of film essays KZread channels and you've basically been the only one that's ever been positive about Snyder and the potential the Snydercut could have. I know they were polarising, but I've always been a massive fan of them. BvS UE is one of my favourite movies of all time! The Snydercut has made me feel so much validation for being a Snyder fan. It feels like people finally see what I see in them and appreciate how passionate he is about film making. Even people who were saying there was no chance this movie could ever be made have changed their tune and are acting like they were fans from the beginning. Even the story of how we got here just makes me feel so happy. How the fans together and started a movement to have the vision of a truly talented filmmaker come to fruition. He went through one of the hardest things anyone ever has to go through, but always seemed so positive and appreciative of his fans. There's a reason people who work with him always hold him in such high regard, and I'm so glad people are starting to come around to his movies

Zack Snyder’s “YOU ARE NOT ALONE” references on billboard snd Cyborgs scene at the end of the movie come from his heart. Not many Directors have that passion and of course I know the tragedy of losing his daughter. Other than MCU fans who follow Zack related movies around online so as to spit their hateful venom at Zack, most people loved this movie and generally like most of his work. I was indifferent towards Zack before and well hated him when Justice League 2017 came out because I thought he was responsible for that horrible pile of shit. Having watched The Snyder Cut and rewatched both Man of Steel and BvS Ultimate Edition I have discovered his genius and how much he loves and respects the characters and actors in these films and I have become a fan. #RESTORETHESNYDERVERSE #ATT/DISCOVERYCLEANHOUSEASAP!

I feel like there is a better 3 hour cut in here somewhere, but overall I enjoyed it. It has everything that I like and dislike about Snyder and it definitely feels like he's swinging for the fences. As much crap as I give to Man of Steel and BVS, those flicks are the very least memorable for better and worse and I can't always say that about the MCU(Ant-Man and the Wasp) as much as I love it overall. It's too long. The slow-mo overused takes away some impact. Some song choices really don't work. It's sometimes trying to be edgy, but there is surprisingly a lot of passion put into it. It felt like Snyder was trying to make his Lord of the Rings and while he doesn't hit the mark, gotta give him credit for trying. There are some moments(Flash's moment ya know what it is) that are genuinely great and inspired. I think there is a lot to chew on Cyborg's arc which sort of feels like Clark's arc in the first film, but handled much better.
