@@DopeDevastation I do know the lore, but knowing the lore has nothing to do with how something is portrayed. It's all about the execution and aesthetics, in order to make something stand out with such raw intent. The games didn't really give me that much of emotion. The only thing that came close was Scorpions Revenge. This movie will deliver a whole new level of emotion. I don't know why people have to play the lore card to what they think is gaining points..

@@abrimfulofasha how can u say knowing the lore has NOTHING to do with it, completely dumb to say first of, it might not be all of it but it definitely is apart of it, SECONDLY the games are about EVERYONE in the TOURNAMENT, it wasn't until mkx that they started making it more movie like, if they were doin that back that then it would have always hit, my point irs its always been there in the games and comics, but to say its refreshing makes it sound like its something they never done or tried like no its always been there, idk why people have to play the dumb card😒

I'm not going to explain it all cause I'll be here all night with you, especially if you're not understanding my first comment. I'm speaking of how the emotion is portrayed, not the initial story. It's how a story is shown, for it to be effective. Yes the lore has something to do with it because of the story, but I'm talking about how filmmakers can make the emotions have a lot more impact. Games feel unrealistic, hence the emotion is lost. And comics are read, so how on earth do you get emotion from that, and yes I read the comics of MK 1994 - 1995, before you throw the lore card again. Also I said refreshing cause in my 'OPINION' non of the Mortal Kombat products that came before scorpions revenge wasn't that emotional. My opinion, deal with it.

It's got to be his great great great great great great grandmother, cause the hanzo vs bi han fight is in 1600s! And the movie is set now!

2 theories, based on this first 13 minutes. Somewhere down the descendant line of this baby, Cole's mom / dad hooks up with a member or joins the Lin Kuei without knowing anything about Shirai Ryu, and that sets up 'Cole Young' aka 'Kuai Liang' as a descendant of the Shirai Ryu but with Lin Kuei ties / cryomancy powers, so he sort of serves as the synergy between both clans, living embodiment that ends the blood feud. OR Cole is the movie iteration of Takeda. Maybe Cole's mom is the baby or descendant of the baby, ends up hooking up with Kenshi, but like in the games Kenshi's off doing Kenshi things, and Scorpion discovering Cole in this movie sets up a rediscovery of his Shirai Ryu roots. As with any super hyped up fan theory, we're probably not gonna get either and be disappointed with who he actually is, but it'd be nice surprise

I cannot wait for this movie, your description got me more hyped especially as a huge Scorpion fan!!!!

Ninja/shinobi are assassins or mercenary from fuedal Japan. The only reason the lin kuei aren’t considered ninja is because they aren’t from Japan. They both function the same though.
