How do you know cars that have already had a label applied will be grandfathered in? There's not much info on the referee website. Thanks for the really informative videos!

Once a car is labeled it’s grandfathered as long as it stays in the same configuration. It’s the same with a full engine swap that’s been labeled.

I'm trying to find your level 1, 2, and 3 cat converter protection videos, are they still here?

I have an aftermarket installed that was put in last year but the owner never got it approved the shop simply passed it, i failed yesterday for visual its test group number is for ulev not sulev so will the ref deni this cat even though it was installed last year?

If it is a ULEV then you can install an aftermarket without needing a BAR label. It sounds like the part that was installed by the previous owner is simply the wrong one. I would find out what shop did it. If it’s a licensed shop with the Bureau of Automotive Repair they are responsible for switching it at their expense.

What would you recommend for a 2015 Lexus ES 350? Do I have to bring a security device I've bought and have you install it, or do you have options at your shop to choose from? Thanks.

Do you think that spray paint will deter thieves? I just got my 2003 Honda sulev cat stolen Friday in Rocklin California. Can I make an appointment?

In our experience spray paint and engraving don’t work. We have some great options that are highly effective when we do your repair and we offer discounts on it when we do the full replacement. I bought an aftermarket converter last year and had it approved by the state ref. It went bad like 2 months ago. If i were to buy the same part once more will it be able to pass still or fail? It was under 400 dollars this aftermarket converter.

As long as it is the same part that is on your BAR label your good.

So I have a 2007 honda accord sulev and my cat got stolen and i was wondering what the average cost is to get it replaced.

With stolen parts there are variables such as what is missing and what was damaged in the theft. It also depends on what state your in. Our average on an SULEV since the state has removed the aftermarket option is $2-4k

What if there is no SULEV on the engine? Does it still need original cat?

No. You had to have the referee label the car prior to August 1st. Sorry, that’s a bummer.

It is not legal to register a car in a different state if you reside in California.
