My body hates heat. I can’t get in a hot tub it’s almost painful. I get dizzy and nauseous when I get hot. I’m really sweaty if it’s like 75 degrees and everyone else thinks the weather is great

ME TOO. 🥵 W. TN gardener. I hate this heat/humidity, and it hates me. Bleh. I'm comfortable in weather that most people hate, because it's so cold, but it is refreshing to me. This heat is oppressive, and makes my heart beat oddly.

Wow I needed this one, they tested my for hyperthyroid, then stopped, I want to be tested for Vitamins I''m lacking, I'm taking B1 but still having extreme heat intolerance & am dizzy, I don't drink milk & know I am most likely D lacking thanks for pointing these things out, I have a direction to search in. A Fireman I was working with pulled me out & told me to sit down he feared I was going to have heat stroke, it was really bad. Thanks again, Vitamins are your friends.

Oh I'm so glad you mentioned the carbohydrates. I have noticed, for more than 25 years now, that if I eat too many carbs - I mean a LOT - that my body heats up - I can tell you that Summer in Australia for a carb addict is intolerable! So I knew that one caused the other for me - now I know one of the reasons WHY - Thank you! 💖

I want to take more than 100 because I have lost so much hair and my skin got awful and I keep getting so hot even though it’s 40* outside. I also stopped eating gluten so that’s been helping

Yeah, that's what drs have told me for over 11 years! Supposedly I'm post menopausal now, but I still have profuse sweating, especially right after I shower. And the inability to tolerate temps above 70°F, without dizziness, weakness, & nausea. HRT did little to nothing for these symptoms. I recently started on sublingual B complex & I'm on 50,000 IU of Vit D3 once a week so maybe this will help. I also stared seeing a new physician that's not only an MD, but also a "D.O." - "Doctor of Osteopathy".

POW!!! Hit the nail square on the head with that one, Dr. Berg! I've given up all carbohydrates during a trial time of eating only carnivore for 45 to 90 days, and am taking nutritional yeast in as many of my egg dishes, and on the steamed broccoli I (thankfully!) can eat. Heat intolerance has already greatly reduced already, so hearing this just now is most helpful, showing me I'm on the right track nutritionally.

OMG I have struggled for years and years with overheating and hyperhydrosis and embarrassment and what to wear and not wanting to be around people in summer (we get very hot summers in Victoria Australia). It’s been a cold winter yet I have recently started overheating and sweating without any exertion again and you have just explained why and it’s because of higher carb intake and not enough fats even though I have been doing intermittent fasting for months. Thank you so much Dr Berg, you explain things so simply every time. So glad I came across your videos years ago as mainstream GPs just prescribe drugs without ever looking at the cause…

Dr. Berg is one of the few docs who actually understands POTS. I did a low carb diet for 2 months and felt horrible. Once I added healthy carbs back in, I felt immensely better. POTS patients are very difficult as we’re hypersensitive to most everything. I suffer from severe heat intolerance and I didn’t notice any improvement while eating low carb. I’m going to try the B1 and hope for the best. I do have a severe Vitamin D deficiency so maybe correcting that will also help with the heat intolerance and POTS symptoms. Thank you for making this info freely available!

I used to have heat intolerance so bad I'd get a low grade fever, now I mix up a liter of water, 1/4 teaspoon Redmon fine salt, 1/2 teaspoon nusalt(potassium), 1/4 teaspoon of FOOD GRADE Epson salt (magnesium). I do a B1 tablet that is thymine and benfotiamine which is a fat soluble B1 I take that about three times a week I also take magnesium glycinate it has brought up my deficiency where is other types of magnesium did not anyways my point is I can be out now in 90 and 95° weather and I feel a lot better now with drinking the liter of electrolyte water in addition to my plain water.

About a year ago I started doing cold training. This summer, my first summer since starting, I noticed a benefit I hadn't anticipated. I no longer suffer from the heat! I used to go into a flop sweat when the temperature reached 70 F. Now I don't begin to perspire until it's around 85 F and I am more comfortable in warm weather than I've ever been in my life. Also, thanks for the great, informative videos!

@@nikkyshairades9078 It's not for the faint of heart, but the benefits are many. I got into it through the Wim Hof Method. You can research it at your leisure. My advice would be to learn about it and then take it slow. You're body will need time to strengthen itself. I think that most of us spend so much time trying to stay in our comfort zones that our zone finally shrinks down to almost nothing! Doing cold training has allowed me to expand my comfort zone, not to mention the positive influence it has on my physical well being and emotions in general. Good luck to you!

I developed heat intolerance with tachycardia: every time I go outside during hot weather my heart will start racing. It's been like that for a few years off and on. The cause of all of that was due to caffeine intake (I usually drink a coffee once a day). I quit drinking coffee and in less than 5 days I was able to get rid of tachycardia due to heat intolerance. Some people might be under this situation, and coffee could be the culprit. For my case heat intolerance was so bad that I had to wear icepacks to avoid tachycardia in only a few seconds while outside. I'm finally able to go outside without being worried under heat but I still do pay attention to hot weather. I am not really sure how coffee can develop heat intolerance with tachycardia, and this is a horrible feeling that gets you handicapped, but if someone experiences on of those problems, then it could simply be due to coffee intake (even with 1 cup of hot or cold coffee in the morning). Be safe everyone, cheers from France.

But in my case I feel like my heat balance is biased towards higher heat output, because I tolerate the cold weather well, I tolerate air leaks very well (I aways sit next to leaking window). My body temperature is nonetheless 36,6 C but I still feel like I tolerate cold better than other people at the expense of overheating in heated environment more than other people. I grew up in NYC and didn't get away from east coast humidity until 3 years ago (I'm retired now). What a difference! Still, anything over 60F is too much for my comfort unless I literally sit still and do nothing. My former students were almost exclusively from the more tropical parts of the world and couldn't understand why I kept referring to the weather as nauseating.

I have Dysautonomia and POTS (POTS is a type of Dysautonomia). There aren’t a lot of videos (if any) with this valuable information. Heat intolerance doesn’t get talked about enough. It’s debilitating for me and has been for many years. Thank you for the video Dr. Burke! I will look into vitamin B complex and vitamin D3 supplements, and reducing carbohydrate intake.

I've had problems since the age of 14, pots symptoms, then neurological symptoms that resembled MS and I was also diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in my early twenties, no further investigations by the gp were given about why I had hyperthyroidism. I have sleep apnea and autonomic neuropathy now and been heat intolerant for many years with erythromylalgia. It's been horrific going though this all this time and then not taken seriously by the gp and then neuros not even testing me and dragging their heels taking years to give me one appointment. I nearly took my own life due to the ataxia and symptoms waiting a year for help. Then I was denied tests and scoffed at for explaining to a neuro I took b1 and b12 and he said it was placebo I'm already suspecting b1 deficiency and it's strange how it's all linked and listed here as connected

This started very suddenly for me, Dec. 30th, 2001. Ran out onto the snow/ice covered deck BAREFOOT to cool down. I had been cold-intolerant previous to that. They checked my hormones & said I was completely over & done with menopause (hysterectomy 1988). I've had every test for MS due to extreme weakness in my limbs, esp. right leg. = no MS tho. I have had several nerve studies, the first 4 were abnormal, (2009-2012) (they thought maybe ALS) but last year they said No to that. although I was told something was going on at L5-S1 level. I have DDD. I take a B Complex daily. Still barely walk...and still suffer severely from heat. Dizziness, nausea, feel like I'm going to black out, and I did black out behind the wheel of my car when it started...I never go w/o air conditioner on and the car cooled down now. ps...I don't sweat much, maybe just a little damp armpits and low back. THANKS for this video!!

B1 thiamine tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide or benfotiamine in 100mg - 500ms megadoses along with a good form of magnesium helped my mother with her Beriberi and POTS. Same like your sister none of my mother's doctors offered no help but to give her more meds that only made her worse. Strangely I came down with POTS myself and found that I needed to supplement with calcium and magnesium since I didn't think my POTS was B1 related

I had heat intolerance since my teens. I'm now 66 years old. Throughout most of my life I couldn't take 2 steps without breaking out in sweat. Even in severe cold, I only wore a windbreaker. My Grandfather and uncle were the same way. After I started utilizing Dr. Berg's healthy Keto/IF, things started going in the opposite direction. Nutritional yeast brought me to a more normal response. My youngest son (37) is like I used to be and soaks his clothes with sweat. As a baby, he wouldn't tolerate anything more than a onesie in the winter. He was always sweating! He won't do Keto, but I'm hopeful that he will take a supplement.

I sweat profusely awaiting Dr Berg latest video uploads!! Anyway here are the excerpts: Heat intolerance can be a symptom of: 1. MS (multiple sclerosis) 2. POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) 3. Dysautonomia 4. Hyperthyroid conditions All of the above conditions have a common thread. People with these conditions typically have low vitamin B1. Increasing vitamin B1 may help improve the symptoms of the above four conditions. You may want to take a good amount of vitamin B1 for these conditions. You would also want to find a natural B complex. Nutritional yeast is a good source of vitamin B1. Vitamin D3 may also be beneficial. But, if you have POTS, you may not want to take more vitamin D. Something else to keep in mind is that the more carbohydrates you consume, the more vitamin B1 you need. Consuming more carbs may aggravate a vitamin B1 deficiency causing you to have more heat intolerance.
