8 Signs Your Body Is Begging for Vitamin D

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

What are the signs of vitamin D deficiency? Vitamin D greatly influences the systems of our body from ensuring calcium supply to our bones to strengthening our immune system. We normally get this vitamin from foods, supplements, and the sun’s rays, but when something goes wrong and we face vitamin D deficiency, our body systems may break.
For example, sweating that seems a little excessive or not brought on by anything particularly obvious, however, can be a sign that you’re lacking vitamin D. So what other signs show a deficiency, how serious is the problem, and what can you do to get more of it? Here at Bright Side, we’ve studied the most common symptoms of low vitamin D levels and we want to tell you what we’ve found.
TIMESTAMPS:
You sweat excessively 1:01
Your bones often ache 1:35
You have muscle pain 2:11
You get sick all the time 2:47
You can’t seem to stay energized 3:26
When you get cuts or bruises, they take forever to heal 4:03
You notice more hair falling out of your head than usual 4:52
You can’t shake the feeling of sadness 5:25
What can you do to get more of vitamin D? 6:26

FORT MEADE, Md. Sweat drips down the face of a U.S. Army Reserve Soldier from the 200th Military Police Command during a Spin class as part of a Performance Triad program organized by the command and hosted on Fort Meade, Maryland, May 9, 2017. The three-week fitness program took place from May 5-25 to help Soldiers who had either failed the Army Physical Fitness Test or had been on the Army Body Fat Composition program. The camp focused on the triad of overall health: physical fitness, nutrition and sleep, by providing education and personalized coaching to Soldiers in all three of those phases of life and more: By Master Sgt. SUMMARY:
- Without vitamin D, your bones can’t absorb the necessary amount of calcium to create healthy bone tissue, causing a weakening of the bones known as osteomalacia.
- In addition to aching bones and muscles, a lack of vitamin D can cause chronic pain throughout the entire body. This debilitating condition is known as fibromyalgia, and it makes life a living nightmare for those who suffer from it!
- Suffering from your 4th or 5th virus this year? It may be because a lack of vitamin D is causing your immune system to work poorly.
- It’s 4 pm and you feel like you have two bricks as eyelids and barely have the strength to get up from your desk. Sound familiar? There could be quite a few reasons for this feeling. But it can also be due to a lack of vitamin D.
- Does it seem like your small wounds and injuries take longer to heal than everyone else’s? But this kind of slow healing can also be because of a lack of (say it with me) vitamin D!
- The average person loses anywhere from 50 to 100 hairs from their head every day. But if you suffer from a lack of vitamin D, you can lose way more than that, at least enough to notice that something’s definitely not right.
- According to Psychology Today, vitamin D is the only vitamin that is also a hormone. In studies on the relationship between vitamin D and depression, scientists discovered traces of the vitamin on cells found in the regions where depression resides.
- Vitamin D can be attained by spending time outside. According to The Arthritis Foundation, spending 10-15 minutes in the sun every other day or so can help replenish your vitamin D levels. Even sitting by an open window can help give you more vitamin D!

I had been getting new muscular pains that were taking over my life. Felt like new injuries and I didn’t know why . Started taking liquid Vit D3 amd saw huge improvement. A special side note! My primary dr said I just needed 800IU/ daily. I have a naturopath doctor and she said no take about 4,000IU a day and that when I felt a huge difference. Of course after 8 weeks I will be testing my Vit D levels !

I'm 27. Ever since I was 13, I've had extremely debilitating shin splints. It was so painful to run or jump. Simple exercises like jumping jacks were not an option for me. I've also gotten sick more than other people normally do all my life. Looking back, I didn't spend much time outside and didnt get much sunlight. Let me tell you, after I started taking 5,000 IU a day of vitamin d3, along with a calcium supplement, my shin splints went away almost completely. After a few more weeks, they had vanished. They never came back because I keep taking my vitamin D3 and Calcium every day. I also used to have joint pain, particularly in my knees. That's gone too. I never thought 20 dollars worth of vitamins from Walmart would have improved my quality of life so much.

At my last physical, I got diagnosed with a Vitamin D deficiency. My doctor wrote me a prescription for Vitamin D pills (5,000 ICU), though you can buy those over-the-counter. I did notice that it helped my mood, though I'm also taking Zoloft at the moment to help with that. My parents also take Vitamin D supplements. In fact, their doctor told them that people in the Midwestern United States (we live in Ohio) have a high tendency to have Vitamin D deficiencies. So, if you live in the Midwest, you might want to get checked for this.

@Ash Rav I'm great right now, my doctor gave me vitamin D3 pills to eat , I think each capsule is 6000 IU, also I've made a complete change of my diet, I only eat organic healthy foods now, and eat 150 grams of protein daily. The effects of these steps are that :- 1. I don't feel general weakness anymore. 2. I have surplus energy, even though it's time to sleep, I feel like I can run a marathon. 3. My body's endurance has increased a lot, even though I don't even exercise at all, I can lift heavier than I could before for a longer time. Do you have vitamin D deficiency as well?

  • @shubhamsurana6538

@Ash Rav I took Vitamin D3 capsules of 6000 IU, it's a measurement of how much vitamin D 3 there is in a capsule. I would suggest to consult a doctor who will better understand your condition and how serious it is. A vitamin D 3 test cost me just about ₹150, I guess. It would be better to consult a doctor first. I'm from India too.

Bed ridden for weeks because of the fatigue and pain x

Just curious, did you find that you had chronic neck pain/fatigue or headaches or really that you could barely keep your head up? I got my blood taken and I was at a 22- normal range 30-40 and the doctor ordered another retest off my vitamins for a month. Still waiting on the results but knowing I’m slightly deficient I’m wondering if others have similar symptoms. I’m hoping the fatigue is because of the severe lack of vitamin d.

Mandee Blain - you can get a blood test from the Dr that measures how much vitamin D is in your system. Ask your Dr to get the test done so you will know for sure. Also, it takes a very long time to build it back up in your system if in fact you find out that you are deficient- especially if you live in a colder climate.

I have the exact same symptoms! I sweat in the winter when it's snowing, and when I'm in air conditioning. Plus, my hair is so thin and I have bald patches, and I had my levels checked and they were low. So I need to get in the sun more, and my doctor prescribed a blue gel pill I have to take once a week. Oh, I'm 39, and I started losing my hair at 35-36. I thought it was because I stopped taking my birth control pills, and went on an IUD. So who really knows what's causing all these things? I hope it's as easy as getting more vitamin D!

Tom is right. Vitamin supplements can’t be tolerated by the body in high doses as it can be toxic. Rat poison for example used to be made out of vitamin D. Never take more than recommend daily value of vitamin D as it will calcify your body even if it brings your numbers up.

I have fibromyalgia and I take vitamins d, b, magnesium and calcium. Plus I'm a dog walker so I'm outside for hours a day, I believe it's down to all these things is the reason why I can still function well and manage my symptoms without medication.

May be an estrogen/progesterone issue too. I used to sweat excessively, out of my face. I started taking Flax seed, Shisandra, ashwaganda, and Chasteberry, in a smoothie, the sweating has stopped.

About to get my friend on some 5,000u Vitamin D, I was concerned not for his overall health, but as well as his mental and sleep as he lost his job last year. Convinced him to start going to the Gym for the first time in his life. I suspect he also has some Vitamin deficiency effecting him as well.

ALL that's mentioned are also typical symptoms of EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome = connective tissue disorder)..... a greatly ignored illness in medical health care systems more or less worldwide..... often EDS'ers have big problems absorbing the right dosage of medicin, vitamins, minerals, food supplies, and so on, due to gastrointestinal issues.... just thought I'd mention it if someone reads this and the video doesn't help with the mention issues..... Thank you🙏

I’ve had ALL these symptoms, but my doctor kept on saying it wasn’t anything in particular. Then she sent me for blood tests, after at least a year of me going through a horrible time, not sleeping, waking up sweating, hot and sweaty every day, having numerous ‘down days’, falling asleep randomly many times daily, and more. Then she called me to say my vit. D levels were extremely low and she prescribed very high vit.D dosage capsules for once weekly. After the first 7 weeks there was a slight improvement but now, towards the end of my repeat 7 weeks, what a huge difference! I’m becoming my ‘real’ self again! Wow, it’s vital to check this and not give up pushing the doctor for blood tests!
