8 Signs Your Body Is Begging for Vitamin D
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
What are the signs of vitamin D deficiency? Vitamin D greatly influences the systems of our body from ensuring calcium supply to our bones to strengthening our immune system. We normally get this vitamin from foods, supplements, and the sun’s rays, but when something goes wrong and we face vitamin D deficiency, our body systems may break.
For example, sweating that seems a little excessive or not brought on by anything particularly obvious, however, can be a sign that you’re lacking vitamin D. So what other signs show a deficiency, how serious is the problem, and what can you do to get more of it? Here at Bright Side, we’ve studied the most common symptoms of low vitamin D levels and we want to tell you what we’ve found.
TIMESTAMPS:
You sweat excessively 1:01
Your bones often ache 1:35
You have muscle pain 2:11
You get sick all the time 2:47
You can’t seem to stay energized 3:26
When you get cuts or bruises, they take forever to heal 4:03
You notice more hair falling out of your head than usual 4:52
You can’t shake the feeling of sadness 5:25
What can you do to get more of vitamin D? 6:26

FORT MEADE, Md. Sweat drips down the face of a U.S. Army Reserve Soldier from the 200th Military Police Command during a Spin class as part of a Performance Triad program organized by the command and hosted on Fort Meade, Maryland, May 9, 2017. The three-week fitness program took place from May 5-25 to help Soldiers who had either failed the Army Physical Fitness Test or had been on the Army Body Fat Composition program. The camp focused on the triad of overall health: physical fitness, nutrition and sleep, by providing education and personalized coaching to Soldiers in all three of those phases of life and more: By Master Sgt. SUMMARY:
- Without vitamin D, your bones can’t absorb the necessary amount of calcium to create healthy bone tissue, causing a weakening of the bones known as osteomalacia.
- In addition to aching bones and muscles, a lack of vitamin D can cause chronic pain throughout the entire body. This debilitating condition is known as fibromyalgia, and it makes life a living nightmare for those who suffer from it!
- Suffering from your 4th or 5th virus this year? It may be because a lack of vitamin D is causing your immune system to work poorly.
- It’s 4 pm and you feel like you have two bricks as eyelids and barely have the strength to get up from your desk. Sound familiar? There could be quite a few reasons for this feeling. But it can also be due to a lack of vitamin D.
- Does it seem like your small wounds and injuries take longer to heal than everyone else’s? But this kind of slow healing can also be because of a lack of (say it with me) vitamin D!
- The average person loses anywhere from 50 to 100 hairs from their head every day. But if you suffer from a lack of vitamin D, you can lose way more than that, at least enough to notice that something’s definitely not right.
- According to Psychology Today, vitamin D is the only vitamin that is also a hormone. In studies on the relationship between vitamin D and depression, scientists discovered traces of the vitamin on cells found in the regions where depression resides.
- Vitamin D can be attained by spending time outside. According to The Arthritis Foundation, spending 10-15 minutes in the sun every other day or so can help replenish your vitamin D levels. Even sitting by an open window can help give you more vitamin D!

I'm 27. Ever since I was 13, I've had extremely debilitating shin splints. It was so painful to run or jump. Simple exercises like jumping jacks were not an option for me. I've also gotten sick more than other people normally do all my life. Looking back, I didn't spend much time outside and didnt get much sunlight. Let me tell you, after I started taking 5,000 IU a day of vitamin d3, along with a calcium supplement, my shin splints went away almost completely. After a few more weeks, they had vanished. They never came back because I keep taking my vitamin D3 and Calcium every day. I also used to have joint pain, particularly in my knees. That's gone too. I never thought 20 dollars worth of vitamins from Walmart would have improved my quality of life so much.

Thank you for creating and sharing this extremely well done and informative video. Only wish it hadn’t taken me a couple years to come across it. Personally want to thank you for not only sharing honest and well researched information about the topic but for also being crystal clear about using this video as a tool for information. Information that should then be discussed with your doctor, otherwise self treatment could become quite threatening.
I grew up without hearing any of my parents told me about vitamins. I don’t even knew it was a thing til I started learning them from school.
All of them!!! And I have fibromyalgia!! The doctors already told me, I just have to get on it. This was an EXCELLENT video!! I honestly think that it’s literally the root of ALL my problems!!
I had blood tests recently and was prescribed a vitamin D3 and calcium supplement. I had no idea I was lacking in either. I started taking them 5 weeks ago, not thinking much of it and my energy and brighter mood have increased so much! I've suffered with moderate depression, on and off for years and low energy the past few years (I'm 40) and I'm shocked how different I'm feeling at the moment. I've gone on to buy my own supplements now and I wouldn't want to be without them!

VitD3 +K2. With magnesuim cutrate supplement.
At my last physical, I got diagnosed with a Vitamin D deficiency. My doctor wrote me a prescription for Vitamin D pills (5,000 ICU), though you can buy those over-the-counter. I did notice that it helped my mood, though I'm also taking Zoloft at the moment to help with that. My parents also take Vitamin D supplements. In fact, their doctor told them that people in the Midwestern United States (we live in Ohio) have a high tendency to have Vitamin D deficiencies. So, if you live in the Midwest, you might want to get checked for this.
After staying home for months my feet starts sweating heavily and I also feel sleepy all the time. Simply going out helped to recover.
I saw my doctor, and told her about sweating more then usual, bruises take longer to heal, being tired all the time. After she checked my blood, yes, I needed vitamin D. So I'm glad we resolved it

Must have a better Dr. than me. I have deficiencies in B12, folic acid and severe deficiencies it D3 and my doctor said I was normal. I am right above the 300 range in vitamin D, which is the lowest i should be and she thinks that’s OK. I have left her practice because all she wants to do is throw drugs at problems and when I try to discuss these kinds of things, her eyes roll back into her head. I can’t believe how wonderful KZread is in what great doctors are here to help us with these problems. Thank you thank you for all your help. I am convinced now that my lower back pain, muscle problems and hair loss are associated with my vitamin deficiencies. ☀️🪴♥️
I love you guys! I have all of these symptoms except number 4. I learnt from a blood test report a few days back that I have crazy low levels of vitamin D as I am a vegetarian and also I don't go out in the sun much. The doctor has ordered the tests as he suspects I have nerve damage in the right scapula region, because of which I have a winged scapula or forward bending shoulder. This content is one of the most factually correct ones I have ever come across. Keep making such good videos!👍

@Ash Rav I'm great right now, my doctor gave me vitamin D3 pills to eat , I think each capsule is 6000 IU, also I've made a complete change of my diet, I only eat organic healthy foods now, and eat 150 grams of protein daily. The effects of these steps are that :- 1. I don't feel general weakness anymore. 2. I have surplus energy, even though it's time to sleep, I feel like I can run a marathon. 3. My body's endurance has increased a lot, even though I don't even exercise at all, I can lift heavier than I could before for a longer time. Do you have vitamin D deficiency as well?
@shubhamsurana6538
4 жыл бұрын
@Ash Rav I took Vitamin D3 capsules of 6000 IU, it's a measurement of how much vitamin D 3 there is in a capsule. I would suggest to consult a doctor who will better understand your condition and how serious it is. A vitamin D 3 test cost me just about ₹150, I guess. It would be better to consult a doctor first. I'm from India too.
Thank You for adding the channel breakdown for quickly accessing symptoms. Very helpful and considerate.
Was told I was both b-12 and vitamin d deficient last week by my doctor. I just realized I had at least two of these symptoms for months! I would sweat profusely even when sitting down and withjust a t shirt and shorts as well as having severe muscle pains almost daily. It made no sense to me because I had neither worked out or over strained my body. Now that I have watched this video, I think it could have been coming from my vitamin deficiency.

This really did help me out. I’ve been losing hair for some time. And I’ve told my husband at times how my bones hurt. I don’t think he believes me. And I do sweat and I’m hot when no one else is. I will be getting this checked out. Thank you so much 😊.

I have the exact same symptoms! I sweat in the winter when it's snowing, and when I'm in air conditioning. Plus, my hair is so thin and I have bald patches, and I had my levels checked and they were low. So I need to get in the sun more, and my doctor prescribed a blue gel pill I have to take once a week. Oh, I'm 39, and I started losing my hair at 35-36. I thought it was because I stopped taking my birth control pills, and went on an IUD. So who really knows what's causing all these things? I hope it's as easy as getting more vitamin D!

Hey Brightside! Do a video on vitamin K2. Vitamin D helps absorb calcium from your gut, but it's vitamin K2 (different from K1 found in leafy greens)that puts it into your bones and prevents calcium from stiffening arteries. K2 also helps mitochondria.

Right Laurie ...K2 and D3 go hand in hand. Without vit K2 MK-7, it would be quite useless to consume vit D3.
@Kim-jo8px

K2 is required only if very high Vitamin D dosage taken. Say 60,000 IU daily for many weeks. If you take 60,000 IU per week then K2 is not needed.

Your comment was now 2 years ago, I'm wondering did your symptoms improve? I hope so. All the best from England ( mini heatwave here at the moment ironically! )
Did you know that a magnesium deficiency causes low D levels. So all those symptoms could indicate low magnesium levels and a serum magnesium test won't tell you cause it's the magnesium in your cells, not your blood that matters.

Tom is right. Vitamin supplements can’t be tolerated by the body in high doses as it can be toxic. Rat poison for example used to be made out of vitamin D. Never take more than recommend daily value of vitamin D as it will calcify your body even if it brings your numbers up.

I realized i wasnt getting enough vitamin d about a week ago and started taking it daily and it has solved the problems i was experiencing. Seeing this video now confirms that for me. Kids take your vitamins! Lol
I’ve had ALL these symptoms, but my doctor kept on saying it wasn’t anything in particular. Then she sent me for blood tests, after at least a year of me going through a horrible time, not sleeping, waking up sweating, hot and sweaty every day, having numerous ‘down days’, falling asleep randomly many times daily, and more. Then she called me to say my vit. D levels were extremely low and she prescribed very high vit.D dosage capsules for once weekly. After the first 7 weeks there was a slight improvement but now, towards the end of my repeat 7 weeks, what a huge difference! I’m becoming my ‘real’ self again! Wow, it’s vital to check this and not give up pushing the doctor for blood tests!
