I just found your channel after going to the doctor this past Friday. He mentioned POTS to me and until then, I had never heard of it. I went home immediately after and started doing research. I'm 43 years old and have been trying to find an answer for over 30 years. Not one doctor has believed my symptoms and I had gone to the top doctors at Shands and Mayo. I live in Florida and life has been very challenging with how hot it gets. Anyways, your channel has helped tremendously and I finally don't feel alone in this anymore or that it's all in my head.

You're helping me so much, Aimee. I had Covid in March of 2020 and I think I now have POTS. I spent all day yesterday out in the sun and I thought I was dying all day today. I had no energy, I felt so weak, I was so clumsy, and just felt awful. I ordered an ice pack and I already have a portable fan. Hopefully I can get through the rest of the summer.

I feel your pain honey. I deal with it myself. Been suffering from it since i was like 14 or 15. Its hard to get through a day of work in the spring and summer. Got a doctor appointment monday, maybe they can find a diagnosis or something.

Great video. Thanks. I have many autoimmune disease and just cannot tolerate heat. Besides the things you mention, if I feel overheated I begin getting a rash on my chest and arms. It’s strange because it happens even if I have not been in the sun. Besides everything you talked about another thing I have to do when I start feeling really bad is this. I have a larger flat rectangular ice pack. I keep it frozen (or probably a large package of frozen peas) and when things feel bad, I bring it out, cover with a thin towel and lay down with the frozen pack on my neck. Placing it on the back of your neck helps cool everything down and helps you feel better.

I am going to get one of those little fans! I always thought it was a little silly idea as I have only seen them on people who looks like drama queens (not, because they have the fan, but for all the other actions). But now I realised I NEED IT!!! My heat intolerance is pretty bad so this can be so HELPFUL! Thank you Aimee!

I have a heat intolerance as in humidity in the weather steam from the shower or heat in the kitchen while cooking I have heat exhaustion and fatigue. I need water and air sometimes I wonder if that is all I need to help me with this. When we travel I can't do all the outdoor activities I would stay in the room or do the crafting activities instead

I got diagnosed of Fibromyalgia 4 months ago, after a month I have this flu like symptoms no coughing of course just the elevated temperature and its really hard to sleep at night and I really feel the sun is biting or burning my skin terrible even just for few seconds. I have mention this to my doctor but he just listen. I have LABS done and shows no infection.

Just googled 80F and it is 26 Celsius! That is a great temperature limit for going out! I do not think that I could move anymore in that heat. I start having trouble when the temperature goes to 65-70F. Basicly sunny days are not great. Luckily I live in West Coast of Ireland where the rain is a norm 😁 💧☁🌈 Maybe that's why my tolerance is so low? My body haven't build up slowly to tolerate heat.

That sounds amazing! I'd love to live somewhere that rains a lot. My husband and I have considered it for my health (also we both love rainy weather haha). But with family and his job here it's hard to make such a big move.

I have fibromyalgia, p.o.t.s, sjogrens, diabetes, arthritis, tmj disjunction and high blood pressure. I cope with it all fairly well most of the time. It’s the passing out all the time that I hate. Even when I have sat spandex tried to prepare myself to get up, it still happens. Who has any ideas on this?

I would just take exercise lightly. You might do best with weightlifting. That's what I do! Cardio makes me SO sick! I have a video about how I exercise with orthostatic intolerance. Those ideas may help!

I know I'm two years late, but I have anhidrosis too, and I recommend a spray bottle filled with cold water. It works as artificial sweat. Just spray yourself down, especially your face. It feels so nice and helps keep you cool. I use it when I play sports. It gets over 100 degrees Fahrenheit where I live.

Hello! I haven't seen a doctor recently about my POTS, because I have been able to control my POTS very well on my own, and they never seemed to help me. I know most people around here see Dr. Cortez at the U. She has great reviews from my POTS friends! :)
