I don't like electric heat. I actually find indoor heating a lot more uncomfortable than a hot day outside.

I’m watching this while it’s 82F. I can’t stand summer, high temperature, strong sun and exercise cause me sweating easily and I don’t enjoy going to the beach in the summer neither. :( I just take a walk in the early morning and in the evening and stay mostly inside during the day. :(

How can someone manage at work during the summer?

  • @ricardo9013

I think my issues are more enviormental. Mainly the high humidity effecting my core tempature. I live in extreme climates sometimes hitting -40c in the winter and +40c in the summer. I've been waiting for the seasons to change so i could get some work done. When i go outside in this high heat and humidity i feel like i can't breath and there's 0 breeze and i get hot flashes. I've travelled in south America and i've also driven accross the country with no ac in the summer so i can handle some heat but last 2 years specifically have felt extra difficult.

I have cerebral palsy and have had heat intolerance since I was 16. This year I have been possible diagnosis of polyneuropathy and it has spread all over in the matter of months. Once after a shower during a workout I was feeling fatigued and sweating too bunch I tried to rush to get water I had blackout a little with my heat on the fridge my head was really cold and I noticed I couldn't hear that was the first time that happened and I had fallen asleep waiting for my hearing to come back

I have primary immunodeficiency, so chronic inflammation, infection, and fevers. I was overheating when the room was 74°F. It has gotten to much worse this year, it's only March, and I am dreading another summer in Texas. Showers are the only way to cool down, because the air conditioning does not keep up. I used to go to doctors offices, since they are usually cold, because the home and businesses stay too hot.

  • @WritingFighter

Sounds similar to me! 74°F is too much for me. Also in Texas. Heat and humidity. I have to melt an entire glass of ice cubes while I'm in a restaurant somewhere if it's mildly comfortable; but often I have to outright refuse. Me and my roommate will jump place-to-place sometimes, even if he's paying because I can't do it. Sometimes direct sunlight or the heat of a car sitting outside burns, stings, and pins and needle pain are on my skin. 64-68°F in moderate or low humidity is my room temperature, and I can usually tolerate 40. I can walk barefoot in the snow and lay on an ice rink with my skin touching the ice without issue. Even winter isn't great because so many places crank up that heater. I get signs of heat stroke even high in the mountains where there's no A/C. Feels like I can't go anywhere to get away.

That is a difficult question to answer since MS is different in every person. Some don't have symptoms until later in life, some have symptoms in their teens. It varies.

It's about time, LONG overdue in fact for severe HEAT intolerance, and the absolutely APPALLING suffering it causes some folk, to be properly and officially recognised as a DISABILITY which it most certainly IS! And I should know as I've suffered with it for well over 38 YEARS and it causes me such appalling excruciating brutal torturing hell that I can't go out in the summer sun in a heat wave here in England and going anywhere hot abroad is unthinkable and I also cannot work because of it. Yet just about everybody in the broadcast media here in the UK just keep selfishly glorifying the brutal frying heat and those in charge of our public infrastructure just keep putting more and more dirty great skylights on our public buildings and now public transport as well making them ultra-EXclusive all in total breach of the so-called "equality" act which isn't even worth the paper it's printed on as it's never enforced anywhere near properly like it SHOULD be. And I suffer absolutely APPALLING EXCRUCIATING uncontrollable POURING sweat all year round even here in the north of England and it's not caused by anything medical treatments can deal with. And such people suffering such absolutely appalling brutal torturing hell MUST be recognised as disabled and properly considered and consulted BEFORE sticking yet more and more dirty great greenhouse roofing on so many public structures. And in my case it never shows on any thermometer either! In fact they only show way BELOW normal.

Yes, I totally agree. I live in southern California (USA) and I used to love summers here when I was young. In the past 10 years, I have to get away and go as far north as I can. I hate summers now, and just thinking about summers makes me want to get away. I do not cook in the summers and if I do, it has to be late at night or a cool night. I heard that vitamin B1 maybe helpful. I'm going to try this. Oh, when I exercise, my entire shirt is wet with sweat after every workout. I also cannot do any outside activities during the summer months-unthinkable!

Have had heat domes here last 2 years (very out of the ordinary and NOT used to this heat at all) and I did horrible. I’m really worried about this year because I just looked it up and it looks like it’s getting hotter this year and hotter year after. Before the heatwaves, I actually tolerated heat exceptionally well compared to others I haven’t been able to do much so I’ve only stayed at home.. didn’t go to cooling centres because had no energy and I don’t think anyone thinks it’s that serious at all to aid me there since I am a healthy body weight, young, and because they manage better. It’s not serious like a cancer or a stroke. It was much slower. I did survive obviously but those few months were the worst thing I’d ever experienced. First year took me by surprise and was in shock, second year I corrected some things but it was still bad. Would it be a bad idea to just stay in a cool tub all day?
