Gap Diagnostic IID tool EAS re-calibration | Land Rover Discovery 3

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video I run through the process of recalibrating the height sensors on my Land Rover Discovery 3 using the Gap Diagnostic IID tool.
In my opinion the IID tool is one of the best diagnostic tools on the market for the average consumer with a Land Rover vehicle.

After replacing height sensors or any other major suspension component you may find the height calibration is out and it should be reset. The process is quick and easy, all you need is the IID, a tape measure and a flat level surface to work on. I forgot to mention it in the video, but also check the tyre pressures to make sure they are all even before you start.
If you enjoyed this video and would like to see more then please give me a thumbs up, leave a comment and consider subscribing so you don't miss a new upload. You don't have to do all three (or any if you don't want) but it really helps grow the channel.

Great video mate, You take the worry out of playing around with the settings. I'd be interested in seeing more of the gap iid content.

This looks incredibly easy with a iid tool..I bought an icarsoft v3 which apparently has the ability to do a suspension calibration but I have yet to be able to access the suspension module due to a communication error...I had to make a DIY bodge to the front rods to make it look level... Thanks for the video, great down to earth content 👍

Thank you for the comment. The gap tool does make the job fairly straight forward

Good stuff, default "factory" is a good starting point but you can push the height up on each corner by 20mm. Shouldn't do any damage due to angles. Gives you 20mm on "off-Road" height, which is excellent! Only warning on calibration is do it in one hit quickly as playing with the compressor heats it up and also drains the battery very quickly. Once done, take it for a drive then remeasure each corner again to make sure the .mm have remained. There are environment variables like hot/ ground v road temp and also slightly off camber driveway or area you chose to recalibrate on. I did mine on the same surface and had slight variants but pleased with the results confirmed in the second recalibration.

Just remember that the height setting does have a +/- 10mm tolerance in normal mode so you could see some minor variations there

Hi Shan, I got already a iidtool, but can't see in the live values the height sensor voltage. Is your version a pro or a std version? Thank you for these helpful videos

Just the standard version for me. But you need to go to live values - select live values. If you only have the quick list then you may not be able to find that option. You need to have complete list option. You can send Gap an email and they can add it to your account

466mm front and 485mm for rear correct measurements? I'm getting rear upper and lower arms plus hub bushes replaced this week and want to calibrate height before it goes in for wheel alignment. cheers Peter

If you have the gap tool then the measurements to set to will come up on screen, but otherwise yes those are the correct distances. You'll also want to set tight tolerance mode (TTM)before the wheel alignment. Under normal operation the disco runs with +/-10mm tolerance, TTM brings that down to +/-3mm

Prices are around $650 Australian. There are various sources online depending on where you are in the world. I think if I recall correctly I brought mine directly from Gap.

I've been unable to activate my recently purchased gap tool which I bought directly from the Canadian gap website 6 weeks ago. I've been trying everything I can but the website simply will not/cannot recognize my tool. There is no way to talk with any one from Gap about this. I'm seriuosly considering returning it because I'm at my wits end. I've heard there are alternative scanners which can be purchased. But this is ridiculous for what they're charging... $540 plus S&H ? I'm not a digital geek but I'm not an idiot...Been using computers since they've become available in the 90's.If there's a person out there who can help me, I'd be grateful for it....
