Calibrate Air Suspension in 10 Minutes on a Land Rover LR 4 / Discovery 4 using the GAP IID Tool

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hey everyone!
I'm Peter and in this video I will show you how to calibrate the air suspension on your own using the GAP IID tool on a Land Rover Discovery 4 / Land Rover LR4. There can be several reasons why you may need to calibrate the air suspension. An adjusted sensor, a replaced air strut, a replacement air reservoir, a repair to the air suspension system, etc.
This is, in my opinion, one of the easiest ways to calibrate the air suspension without going to the Land Rover dealer and paying €200 for 10 minutes of their time!
The GAP IID tool is one of the best aftermarket diagnostic tools for Land Rover. It's not the cheapest, but if you have a few problems with your Land Rover or Range Rover, you'll have it back quickly because of the garage costs saved.
I am not sponsored by GAP Diagnostic and this is not an advertisement for the tool. I just want to help you save money by doing repairs or maintenance yourself. Therefore, I can only highly recommend this tool and the support of GAP Diagnostic!

    I wouldn't see it as critical, as the TPS would already be triggered if the tyre pressure was really too low. But it is generally advisable to work with the standard pressures and to check the tyres regularly anyway.

  • @powervolt748

    @powervolt748

    Жыл бұрын

    I think it is really important to do it before an alignment. The Discovery needs to be put into tight tolerance mode so that it is at the exact correct height while alignment is done. So if your Discovery isn't even calibrated to the correct ride height before then putting it into tight tolerance mode would just be pointless as the heights are probably out especially after any suspension or steering repairs which usually cause the need for an alignment. I would definitely do an air suspension calibration before an alignment and when you arrive at the alignment garage then put it into tight tolerance mode with IID tool. Don't drive for long in tight tolerance as this causes suspension wear/damage, so make sure it is put back into normal tolerance after the wheel alignment 👍 Also when doing a suspension calibration, only hit the last step on your phone/tablet while sat in the car so that you are ready to press up or down on suspension height control. Otherwise it times out on the iid tool and doesn't save the new adjustments of the heights.

    get an old plastic wheel centre slice a hole across the centre to fit the end of your tape measure in, then you just go around each wheel (no need to push the plastic centre right in) then you will get the tape measure in the same place with out the tape the hub centre is guaranteed.
