Hi, I'm Peter and I've been fascinated by Land Rover vehicles for a very long time. A few years ago, I finally got my hands on my first Land Rover - a Discovery Sport. Unfortunately, it turned out to be too small for my family of four and all of our camping gear, so I knew I needed to upgrade to a Discovery 4 or LR4.
However, as any Land Rover owner knows, maintenance costs can add up quickly. That's why I decided to take matters into my own hands and try to do as much of the work on my vehicle as possible.
Through my KZread channel, I share my experiences with repairing and maintaining my Land Rover, in the hopes of helping others save money and learn more about these incredible vehicles. While I'm not a professional mechanic, I'm passionate about keeping my Discovery 4 in top shape and extending its lifespan for as long as possible.

My 2014 LR4 air suspension is just getting back to normal height after few minutes. For example, if I put it in the lower height, it will go to normal height after 0-10 minutes. The same thing when I put it in the higher height, it will go back to normal height after 0-10 minutes. What you guys think?

Is the filter located in the same place for north American models?
Great content Peter. I am trying to do the retrofit but cannot get the green auto symbol to show on the dash, even after updating the CCF using the GAP tool. Did you have auto or adaptive headlamps before the retrofit? Also, I saw that the CCF shall also be updated to rest of world? What do you think about that? Also if you take requests, fitting the memory function would be great 😀

J’étais à la castrol 5w30 edge j’avais pas de particule dans le filtre a 160000kms ensuite passé castrol magnatec 5w30 quelque particules dans le filtre a 180000kms puis là castrol magnatec dpf 45€ 5 litres le moteur sonne mieux et j’ai toujours quelques particule dans le filtre à huile a chaque vidange actuellement 211000 kms toujours des particules ds filtres est-ce du a l’huile magnatec je sais pas mais je fais vidange tout les 10000kms maintenant ! on verra bien jusqu’où il ira 3l v6 biturbo 245ch 2011

Hi Peter, thanks for great video. I just followed your instruction and installed the module well. I'm using Android Auto and now people telling me my voice is really small everytime I make the phone call which never happened before installing this module. Do you have any idea? and is there a way to stick with my bluetooth instead of my audio set to Aux?

I have to change my bulbs too but I have a bull bar installed. So to remove my grille is really tight.but I will persevere.

I dont understand to sell the better-looking lr4 to get another one, i own 07 lr3 and just bought a 04 D2 , the D2 has soild front and rear axles, which is excellent for lifting, excellent for offroad, i like the black lr4 better it gets very expensive to build a overland when you had everything on the black lr4 , im planning to buy a lr322 in future to build into a overland build you don't see many builds for ranger rovers even the 405 are becoming cheap to buy but the 405 is more rounded i like the square box look knobs & switches, having a computer monitor screen that controls everything not good if monitor goes bad 😊

I mounted the foam gasket on top of (outside of) the metal mounting plate. That puts foam between the snorkel and the body instead of the metal bracket against the body. it protects the wing and has a better seal.
I'm having the same issue + I can't send the ECU Info, it says I can't generate email because I need to have an email account. My account has an email added to it, it's wierd. I wrote to GAP Team, waiting for their reply.

I have a D4 with 129k miles and changed to 5W40 and it transformed my engine - so much soother. i will try the diesel additive next. Great tip.

To avoid air bags blowing, do what you did and then get ready to remove, after 20 minutes of no power from a disconnected battery. Good job, and most needed. Thanks for sharing. Kind regards.
Not sure what is different here than with my 2014 LR4. I've done all these steps, but still cannot successfully make a new key. I'm waiting for an actual OEM fob to come in the mail to see if that makes a difference, but so far I can't get this function to work, and it's the main reason I bought the tool in the first place to keep the dealership out of my pockets. UPDATE: As it turns out it was the aftermarket fobs that were worthless. I bought a used Land Rover fob with the logo on the back, and the IID Tool turned it into a working spare in 5 minutes. The fob makes ALL the difference.
So after having mine apart last night with the exact same noise I found the timing chain tapping the cam cover , new chain and tensioner it's perfect now

Hi there im watching you closely , i have the exact same noise coming from my disco , opened to top up to find 2 failed hydrolic lifters , replaced all and i still have the noise , im now thinking timing chain tensioner even though these were replaced 10k miles ago , have you got to the bottom of yours yet ?

Those Lion engines require 5w40 with zinc additives, they been developed by PSA and short while the pollution restrictions Euro 5,6 showed up, in order to comply with this regulations, the manufacturer (Ford) change the original spec recomended by the french designer and switched to low ash content 5w30. From the original project to the final product, JLR changed about four supplier's and the initial requirements has been lost or forgotten.
