Full coverage of CrossFit Event 8, "Big Cat," from the 2023 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, Texas (Sunday, October 29). This includes the Women's division at 1:30 and the Men's division at 28:30.
Even in ideal conditions, outracing the fittest athletes in the world through a gauntlet of box jumps, handtstand walks, and literal sprints would be a Herculean task. On the slick turf at a rain-soaked Dell Diamond, the Big Cat workout looked even more challenging. On the men's side, in particular, it led to some topsy turvy results, as two athletes in the lower half of the leaderboard (Victor Hoffer and Tudor Magda) found their form and left most of the podium contenders in their dust. It was a similar story for the women, as Danielle Brandon and Paige Powers put up strong showings amidst the ongoing battle between Toomey and Horvath, which is now in a 680-680 tie with one event to go.

It's like every Crossfit event has to go, "we really need to try to keep DB's popularity up. Make sure we get one event where it's basically just a handstand workout together with some other completely undifficult, uninteresting portion that won't trip her up."

I find the handstand walk thing the most non-sensical thing in Crossfit. On what planet can that translate to any sort of functional requirement?

The ladies quads look larger than the men's. But hey this is drug tested apparently and new to be adopted by the UFC. Will be seeing a lot of old fighters come out of retirement.

The men looks normal. But with these women's bodies, I can hardly imagine that this is possible without certain substances. And in general, the regenerative ability of both sexes is pretty suspect. 👎

yeah I kinda suspected the same as a women who does crossfit type of training too. Neither of the super fit and strong ladies in my gym has that kind of physique and bulk.
