Full Live Stream - The Duel III | Individual Event 5 - 2023 Rogue Invitational

Спорт

Full coverage of both the Men's and Women's CrossFit Event 5, "The Duel III," from the 2023 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, Texas (Saturday, October 28).
In this bracket-style elimination event, early mistakes could torpedo your place on the leaderboard, but a strong showing could also turn an athlete's fortunes for the whole weekend. Unsurprisingly, on the men's side, it was some of the steadiest competitors in the game (Jayson Hopper, Pat Vellner, Brent Fikowski) who took care of business. Meanwhile, in the women's division, Laura Horvath looked to grab a rare opportunity to pick up precious points on Tia Toomey.

1:29:41 That's a 3 way and a 2 way tie. I can't see seperation in the time Hopper, Garard & Mayer touch the box... and then Martin & Hoste as well?! *Wild.* (O_O)

Kudos to everyone, but Dani Speegle is unbelievable here. She gets so much faster in just a few rounds and out-competes everyone.

Touching the front of the box gave her the slight edge she needed to win. It made the difference at least twice, including the finals. Might have been a tie if Laura did that in the finals.

How did Tom win this event? The scores say he came 1st, but Mitch clearly finished first. Doesn't the timer start at the same time for all athletes?

the bye seems to have put the athletes at a disadvantage, as it meant they’re competing for elimination against athletes who’ve had a little taste. Given the athletes seemed to get faster each round, I can’t help but wonder how Toomey, Carey and Adler would have fared in round 2 if they’d had a taste in round 1. I have no issue with Khrennikoff and Ohlsen being cut - if you compare everyone’s time on their first run of the event they were the two slowest so wouldn’t have survived a cut down to 15 anyway.

I believe that Laura, in the last round, if she had dived headfirst and reached out her arm to touch the cube, would have won against Dani.

Probably. There was at least twice when Dani won because she had superior box touching technique. We're only talking hundredths of a second her but that made the difference in the end.
