FUEL: Champion Weightlifter Morghan King Lifts Double Her Own Bodyweight
Ойын-сауық
In this episode of FUEL, we follow weightlifting champion Morghan King during her six-day-a-week routine of consuming clean proteins and vegetables to ensure her competitive status at the 2015 World Championships and beyond. At a 105-pound competing weight, she is one of only a handful of women on this planet who can "clean-and-jerk" more than double their body weight. We’d like to see you try that.

In the old system of weightlifting and some systems now, if an athlete doesn't make it to intercontinental competition but is still good enough to be a high ranking continent champion or a champion of their country, since all athletes don't go to all comps, the country directs their studies to being a coach rather a better athlete.

I like her mentality, very positive!
I love that she wants to be the best she can possibly be instead of the best there is. You are your own biggest threat! Great motivation!
Mad respect for this girl. Excellent video too.
I hope y'all continue this FUEL series. It's really dope.
please everyone just fyi, this is olympic weightlifting and not crossfit.
It's really great that the US has such an accomplished coach. I recall seeing Smalcerz competing in the 1970's, when he was the best in the world in his class. Ms. King can go very far. Best of luck to her and to team USA!
lol at all the dudes being creepy in the comments. anyways this was pretty cool and congrats to her for getting to the level she's at so fast.
This is so inspiring! I’ve never thought that someone as short as me would ever be able to do something like that. I guess that the secret is to never limit your mindset like I’ve done. Anyways, she’s amazing.
Love this. I love how a sport can give purpose to our lives
Huge respect for her!! I can do 150 kgs but I 'll now look forward to 200 in a year.. Thanks for the inspiration//

@@shoopshoop7650 Like I said, for anything that demands high accuracy, Metric is king, even in America. English measurements are used by the general population because it's what they are used to, and measuring is not a major part of their life, so why force a change? In anything scientific, or anything which is very reliant on accurate measuring, metric is the standard.

@@shoopshoop7650 you'll only see the metric system even in america on anything engineering related, science related, or like the post above said anything which requires high accuracy. Medical is another example of the metric system in America.

***** Well the idea of crossfit is to be functionally fit I guess and there is nothing wrong with that. In the events they are tested to do movements fast or how much reps they can do etc., but the judging is always off/unprofessional, resulting in people compromising form trying to get a better result. Basically crossfit is hated because crossfitters tend to have very bad form and even the coaches sometimes either teach bad form, or just don't correct it. Also they tend to test max sets and 1 rep maxes in a reckless manner. In the example she said of her first day of crossfit they had everyone do a max set squat, which is dangerous with bad form and definitely not something anyone should do when they just started working out! In my opinion crossfit isn't inherently bad, just make sure you are exercising with correct form.
That was great! More vids like that please!
I like how she eats actual food
I know the series is called fule, but it's really interesting to see how some atheltst enjoy there food while other see it a just a means to an end and something you have to do to complete there goals.

Champion Weightlifter Lifts Double Her Own Bodyweight On A 400 Calorie Deficit.

Fennec Besixdouze she diets to get down to weight for competition. Therefore, she has to weight under 48kg on the day of competition. To get under 48kg she has to be in 400 cal deficit, and will also use water and sauna to further manipulate her weight.

Munchies Yeaahh no she cuts for competition bulking she does not LIFT on a 400 cal deficit, no chance she's strength training on a defecit, let alone 400 cals. She would clearly bulk for the extra strength then she might cut for her own preference after comps.

I had a shoulder injury several months ago. Everytime I see miltary presses, snatches, clean and jerk my shoulders cry. I weigh 180 pounds, 6 ft and am scared to even attempt lifting anything in a shoulder press movement over 100 pounds. I hit 60 pound dumbells for chest press 10-12 reps but am scared to attempt 30 pound dumbell shoulder press.
Cool stuff but I'm pretty sure most athletes in the lighter weight classes do double bodyweight in the C&J? If not more.
