I unironically love the Curse of Fatal Death and have rewatched it more times than a significant chunk of well-regarded stories over the years. Honestly the gag with the Master having to spend all that time going through the sewers after falling in the hole, then doubling down on the gag and doing it again is just fantastic. So funny.

23:40 I love those mini-series, especially "Good Night" where Amy learns what the Doctor does when the companions are asleep and asks the Doctor about her knowing both timelines of her life. I wish we had more episodes like that. Also, since the episode was about sleeping in the TARDIS in a way - we need the return of the TARDIS bedrooms beyond referencing them! Show more rooms of the TARDIS, you have the budget now, RTD!

Great video!! Children in Need would be interesting, but that's partly because I like the Time Crash skit! XD I'd definitely like to know more about other charities Doctor Who has been involved in. I saw a poster on Instagram featuring the Fifth Doctor for the British Heart Foundation and that really intrigued me.

My favorite thing about Curse of Fatal Death is that it accurately predicted that the 13th Doctor would be a woman. How do I know this? It’s stated in the sketch that Atkinson is the Doctor’s 9th body, and he subsequently regenerates four times.

The Sylvester McCoy impression (Wink Taylor I believe, who also performed as 7 in the audio drama, 'Doctors Assemble'!') was so uncannily accurate you could convince people it was an actual recording from the 80s.

While we're on the subject on The Cruse of Fatal Death, It wasn't just the late Roy Skelton who voices the Daleks in this, They were also voiced by Dave Chapman who did tons of work on children's shows in the past including his well known performances as Otis the Aardvark.

Because of the amount of comments asking, heres some clarification. This is a video about Comic Relief sketches. Things like; - The Five Doctors - Dimensions in Time - Born Again - Time Crash - The Naked Truth - Looking for Pudsey - Anna's Surprise Were not done by Comic Relief, but Children in Need. I may do a video on CiN in the future, but the comments saying "You forgot Time Crash!" no I didn't.

The Curse of Fatal Death is such a treat. I can just imagine a Blackadder themed Doctor Who parody where Blackadder is The Doctor and Melchet is The Master. Tell me you wouldn’t want to see that. A review of it is a must for next year. Maybe even try to though it may be impossible, getting to interview Steven Moffat or Rowan Atkinson talking more in depth of the experience and production of the special. Appropriate as next year is its 25th anniversary. Also, you said about Moffat referencing lines and ideas from the special in certain episodes he would write during his time as showrunner which is a nice nod but I remember you being particularly angry when he did it in The Magicians Apprentice/The Witches Familiar with the sewer, chair and I think even Hybrid plot. Has your thought changed over time or was it just the way Moffat’s egotism getting out of hand?

1000th like! My favourite is Space and Time. It's really funny and features some of my favourite characters. I know the jokes are a bit rude, but they're hardly explicit and the children won't mind. I mean, I think the joke is more that the driving instructor was distracted during the test, but anyway my mum let me watch Miranda at about 10 if not younger, and nothing bad came of it... the same can't be said of the two Doctor Who episodes I watched when I was younger, Deep Breath and Smile... how I ended up chancing upon two of the scariest episodes is beyond me!

Great video I love curse of the fatal death but the must watch sketch is the one done in between The Parting of the Ways and the Christmas invasion cause all the doctor companion bits are done in the sketch after we see the regeneration in The Parting of the Ways so it gives more context to the opening of the Christmas invasion and it explains why rose seemingly is so chill about doctor’s new appearance

Fascinating video and I think I still have that Comic Relief comic stored somewhere. going to have to dig it out. The SJA one. I grew up watching the Two Ronnies and as a Doctor Who fan I watched SJA so the jokes landed for me but yeah it was a strange juxtaposition with the two shows. One referencing a comic sketch show that had finished 20+ years ago and a show aimed at children. Will look forward to a video on the Curse of Fatal Death though.

It's funny because my first experience with Doctor Who was by mistake, in mid to late 2011 I was watching KZread videos about Back to the Future toys and was looking up "Docs Time Machine" I cam across one guy reviewing a delorean toy and saw a video called Doctor's TARDIS and assumed it was for Back to the Future by the Doctor part but didn't know what TARDIS meant at all. I watched this poor quality video about the 9/10th doctors TARDIS toy and then saw part one for the 2011 Red Nose Day Doctor Who special! No idea as to what this Doctor Who show was about at the age of 10 or 11 I decided to watch both video parts. This was my first introduction to Doctor Who and Matt in that moment became my Doctor. I fell instantly in love and needed to see more of him so I made my parents find out where I could watch the show. My timing was impeccable on this as BBC America was reshowing the entire series from S1 up to the premier of Season 6. So I started with Eccelston and worked my way all the way back to Matt over a series of Months until the premiere of Season 6. I was hesitant about 9 and 10 at Doctor as the small bit I got of Matt made me fall in love with the show as a whole but ultimately through and through I fell in love with there whole darn thing. Why have I commented this long story one might ask? To show that the smallest and shortest viewing can make someone find happiness and enjoyment so easily.

We had Comic Relief in the USA. It was a sister organization to the UK non-profit. It first aired in 1986, famously hosted by Robin Williams, Whoopi Goldberg & Billy Crystal. It aired as an HBO special, and each year there were subsequent specials, sometimes airing on network TV. Don’t think red noses were ever involved. I don’t know why it stopped but the US non-profit was dissolved in 2011.

26:31 hate to be that guy, but the one in "Logopolis" isn't actually the TARDIS; specifically, it's the _MASTER'S TARDIS_ disguised to look like the Doctors, ie his and the Doctors' ships both look like a police box in that episode. So because it's the _MASTER'S TARDIS_ landed inside the Doctor's, not his own inside of itself, that does technically mean "Space/Time" is the first time the TARDIS has landed inside of itself.

It was Fantastic Beasts themed with Newt calling many tv personalities from the UK among which was the 12th Doctor. Newt asks everyone if they’ve seen Pudsey but 12 replies by describing an alien monster. Newt then hangs up on him. A blink and you miss it moment but about as long as Jodie’s in 2020 the movie « trailer ».

Somebody already pointed out the notion that Amy slept with the driving instructor is a real stretch so I won't go over it again but I feel like the whole "adult jokes" thing is very subjective. Like I think you're allowed to have a couple naughty jokes in there as long as you aren't too explicit with the content, and not like the Moff is the only New Who writer to have more mature jokes like this. I also fail to see how Amy flirting with herself is really that adult or character assassination-y since basically the joke there is more that Amy is little bit vain which isn't really too out of line with what we got in the main show or is something that's really bad for younger viewers.

Kids wouldn't have "learned that Amy Pond might have slept with her driving instructor to get a passing grade". There's no hint of that. She "wore a skirt". It was a short skirt. It distracted the examiner. He didn't see her drive because he was distracted, not because Amy slept with him.

@@tTaseric Yes. That's what you said last time. I just wanted you to think about whether that's what you actually meant. In the sketch kids heard that Amy passed her driving test because her instructor was distacted by the skirt she was wearing. It was a joke, made by her boyfriend, who clearly has teased her about her driving before, as well as about the impact she can make with how she dresses. It's not an actual accusation. And the skirt itself is completely innocuous. She looks good in it, but there's nothing scandalous or provocative about it. It's crazy to suggest that wearing that skirt on your driving test "isn't much better" than sleeping with the examiner.

Yeah, it was a weird interpretation on his part. Like you can maybe argue whether or not Amy wore the skirt on purpose to distract the driver but her sleeping with him isn't really implied.

I was hoping to watch the sketches without the commentary, whilst i appreciate the video you put together. Talking over it and cutting some of the scenes short, spoilt it for me. Ah well i'll just have to go search youtube for the full clips.
