It would have been better sticking to being a creepy horror story, maybe maximising use of the great Sian Phillips. As it was, there was a jarring change of genre and tone. Whatever his past glories, RTD just can't write thoughtfully now.

Supergirl, thanks for reviewing this tripe,l feel your pain!! Can you shed any light on the rumour that Sean Pertwee is in this series? Have just been watching Sean in the first series of Cadfael.

Not yet. 3rd Doctor is my fave. I hope he’s not on this show tho.

RTD is good at building things up and characterisation, but his endings and resolutions universally suck IMO. Sadly his second tenure seems to of learned nothing from his first, and I get the feeling he's surrounded by yes-men that tell him he's a genius whatever he does. I would of much rather had J Michael Stratzynski who wanted to take-over as showrunner. He'd of actually made Dr who good and brought in fresh ideas I think. It's a shame as I think Ncuti deserves better, but then I felt this way about Eccleston back in 2005 and was disapointed by the rubbish he had written for him. At least theres Big Finish.

It's at the point now that these people actually hate us, want to wind us up, upset the fan bases and cause apathy and hate.

BTW. Clicking on the video. And commenting are the best things you can do besides sharing. So you actually helped me on this video. Thanks brother! You rock. You’ve also learned a lot from Dr Who. Blocking people you don’t agree with while not even watching their content is certainly a Dr Who lesson!

@@JMan77 I know that. But you should know why people aren't interested in seeing the pessimistic BS. BTW this episode was AMAZING- easily one of the best in the whole series. Enjoy your trolling.

Supergirl. I really enjoyed the first half and even enjoyed bits of the second half, however I keep asking the same questions which bothered me like where did the doctor go? how can he just get deleted? its the doctor! the most powerful mind and can get out of anything and everything yet he just got deleted by some magic or something? What was the fairy circle thing about? why did it have the power to just delete the doctor? why is the old lady just ruby but older and what made that happen and why did it stop and bring her back? and what the hell is the point of ruby going through all that if she is just gonna go back to the past and erase everything. also kate is not dumb enough to keep her ear piece on in such a situation. Such a strange episode.

Just ask why UNIT intercepted the ghost in the middle of a crowded street when they know it will still be 73 m away from Ruby if they move Ruby into an empty field.

Supergirl, IMHO 73 Yards was by far the best episode this season. I ended up giving it a 6/10 in your metrics and a 8/10 overall (just how I felt after watching). There’s a lot of ‘don’t think about it too much’, because then it really doesn’t make sense, but while I was watching it for the first time it was great. The pacing is probably the best this season, as in every scene something’s happening, be that character building or actual plot points. The prime minister ‘villain’ was fine, but didn’t really get any screen time. The politics behind it wasn’t really that bad, cause it was just an insane prime minister who wanted to blow everything up (it would’ve been better if he was a supernatural villain of some sort and made people like him by shaking his hand - was that the original idea?) This episode finally gave Ruby time to actually do something. I also enjoyed it was more than Boom, because in Boom, the rules aren’t well explained, and there’s a lot of church talk, with an ending that comes down to what - love between an AI father and daughter? At least in this episode the ending just answers questions (mostly, but that was the point) and fixes the timeline.

Easily the worst Dr Who episode I've seen and I've watch Dr Who since the 70's. First, why would a British show title their episode 73 YARDS? They use the metric system over there. Odd. It was also so predictable and then, once again, threw anything Dr Who knows about time out the window! And it only had a small bit of Dr Who, who coincidentally, messes things up by stepping in the fairy ring and not messes things up by not stepping on the ring. I mean which was it? Mentioning the future PM before stepping on the ring also didn't make sense while being against the Who mythology. I mean it is many, many levels of messed up.

Just to touch on the measurement aspect, we tend to use both here in the UK, we're officially metric but use lots of imperial still - pints, miles, stones, pounds, feet, yards and inches etc. Its a quirk of us Brits.
