As you'll see from the end of the video, this project got a little out of hand. So please be sure to "like" it and leave a comment to justify going to these lengths in the name of science!

I'm tempted to think there's some sort of hidden message in this episode... the quicker the Doctor touches grass, the more he/she has something better to do with their time... LOL

do you count the HAND falling as the Metacrisis Doctor? It's a regeneration in the canon ... so : where does that hand land? Then when does it officially becomes the Metacrisis... and when HE touches grass?

Need a sequel for how quickly each doctor drinks water. Hydration is important.
amys choice can't count - if simply thinking/dreaming about grass counts as touching grass then i owe a lot of people a lot of apologies

The Church on Ruby Road (in reality NOT standing in London) - hidden grass under fake snow, spread on a sheet to keep it safe, while the stage lamps suggest that there IS a path under that "snow" - the REAL reality check (like: the women jn in Shakespear's stage plays: a young man playing a woman, who tries to be a boy, that has to dress up as a girl)🤭
Honestly the fact that you went out of your way to drive all the way to St Mary’s Church instead of looking on Google Earth all for this video deserves all my respect

Did I just watch an almost 40 minute long video essay about a fictional character touching grass instead of me just going outside and touching grass? Yes. And I regret nothing

Woah it has only just occurred to me that was nearly 3 quarters of an hour.
If we go by the displayed timeline on this video, Mr. TARDIS ends up touching grass *faster* than the 15th Doctor. Wow.
"and on the other side of this gate, I can confirm: ...GRASS." The Vicar inside: 🧐
Forget "The Fall of Doctor Who" or "Every Dalek Story Reviewed", this is the true best Doctor Who video on all of KZread. This is the Doctor Who video essay of all time.
Another 6th Doctor W, saves the day 3 times without a single natural element.

he proved Ravalox was stolen by the Time Lords... the original STOLEN EARTH!!! And he saved himself as the 2nd in The Two Doctors. Quite an amazing chap the 6th. He is in my top 4.
I was watching this video at 5AM and my dad came in & asked what I was watching. I said ‘A Leaderboard on when each Doctor first touched grass.’ And before going back to bed, he says ‘Pertwee’s winning.’
Technically speaking, the Fifth Doctor first left the grass when he was brought inside the ambulance after the cops turn up, then he touches grass again just before entering the TARDIS.

i dont think it counts due to the lengths he goes to avoid touching grass afterwards, clearly if he was in his right mind he wouldn't have touched the grass
3(smirks): I touched grass in 8 seconds. 5(smiles): I was born in grass and carry it wherever I go. 9(grins widely): GRASS touched ME.

3 is a cheat: the clock was running before you even saw the actor - at 5 sec. there is only one hand and his nose visible: 3 seconds left to hit the ground - but being unconscious, it probably should NOT be counted as touching grass (being "embraced by" heather, more likely). Then his weelchair turns over on a patch of grass - so coming into contact with the greenery was not of his own free will. And touching the leaves of the tree, gets him shot by Unit-soldiers: whatever the Time Lords had intended - it did not go well with that doctor.
This is the sort of in depth Doctor Who analysis we have been yearning for since the dawn of time
So now we know when each doctor first touched grass, The next question naturally being: When was each doctor's first time shown eating something? Obvious thought is 11's Fish Finger Custard late night snack

Actually the Fifth Doctor is his favourite.
Wow, that shock twist for the 15th Doctor was really something and the physical effort you went to to prove it was commendable. Brilliant video :)
This is your magnum opus, it simply does not get better than this! Masterpiece!
The contrast between the second and third doctor is so funny.
That tree wanted to do way more than just touch the Ninth Doctor.
This is amazing 🤣 It has the aura of an April Fool’s video. Lovely job MrTardis!
Not gonna lie, this video's title made me do a double take to see if it was April first.
Pertwee's commitment to the grass is something else!
@MrTARDIS If you gift the public another full-cast audio drama, will you insist on fitting in an aural grass touching scene? You know, for the kids.
Google earth: exists Mr TARDIS: what? ima drive to wales
34:03 I ACTUALLY STARTED CHEERING. You go, Mr. Tardis!!! I can't remember the last time I've enjoyed a Doctor Who video as much as this one. No drama, no angst, just pure enjoyment of the stories for a silly turn of phrase. Five gold stars, my friend. Stellar work. More of this!
This is the Doctor who video we deserve!
"I file taxes for this" 😂😂😂😂 Mr T, you just created a new catchphrase ❤❤❤
In honour of Michael Jayston, I shall confirm that even the Valeyard has touched grass. While I don't know the exact timing (maybe one day I'll get round to it if I'm bored) The Valeyard touches grass in The Trail of a Time Lord: Part Fourteen, when he's teleporting around and lands directly on the one patch of grass on the Matrix beach. If anyone wants to get the exact time themselves, you have to time EVERY courtroom scene (regardless of whether the Valeyard is onscreen or not cos he's still in the room) up until Part Thirteen, when he runs into the Matrix. If you want to count him laughing maniacally and his voice over, then go ahead. Then in Part Fourteen when he's teleporting around until he hits the patch of grass 😅
@LisaBeta-42

Matrix grass counts as much as dream-state grass - but is is only the word of the master, that makes the Valeyard a "direct" incarnation of our Doctor(s) - there is the parallel world option or some more "bi-generation" buisiness to get to all the different versions of the Doctor (or the other titles, this immortal being may have used at any given time)
I'm fairly certain that in the wide shot with 9 and Rose they're still walking on the path. It's because the camera is so far away you can't see the path. But if you look at the area where they were filming that scene, the place is criss-crossed with paths.

That was a fun day filming in Newport. 😂 Glad I could help out with filming Mr Tardis! This video came out fantastically, one of your best yet!
A life most fans can only dream of Going outside and making friends.
this is the most important video you’ve made to date
That travelling a long way to check the grass bit reminds me of when Rose and family go to the coast after hearing The Doctor speaking to Rose.
As soon as I remembered the first scene of Pertwee's era, I couldn't help but burst out laughing. There's a Time Lord going for the speedrun!
I can't believe it... Mr Tardis touched grass!!!
That "even more of me" clip always makes me smile.
I swear Mr Tardis has some of the best humour of any Dr Who creator on the platform, sometimes the jokes he makes just catch me completely off guard like in his cybercember earthshock video and this video in my notifications just made me do a double take
The 12th Doctor touched grass at the 11th minute, 11th hour was his first time introduction, I smell a mystery.
This video will go down in history as the greatest KZread ever had to offer
How are there so many plot twists in this video it's insane. Also do you know about the rejected story where the Daleks turn into grass and claim this is the prefect form of life? It also resolves all conflict in the universe somehow.
I started this thinking I’d just watch a minute or two. But I had to watch the whole thing! Great work! XD
William with the utmost respect to all your previous work, this might just be your magnum opus
Your dedication to science is truly unmatched.
Your dedication to checking if Ncuti's Doctor touched grass at the church has me in awe. 🙌 We're not worthy 🙌 🤘🤘🤘
I think we need a stewards inquiry on 9th Doctor, I think he is still on the footpath. Unfortunately, that would need somebody to find out where it was filmed and then drive all the way out there to figure it out. But only an insane person would do something like that.
This is genuinely the content I expect from the doctor who fandom in the most positive way.
This video is what the internet was made for
I knew 11 would be 2nd because the first scene that popped into my head was the scene in amy's garden
This was such a phenomenally fun watch. The editing in particular was snappy, creative, and flexed an ENCYCLOPEDIC understanding of the show. Great work, can't wait to see more.
Amazing video. Subscribed!
Finally, Doctor Who analysis that actually matters. Thank you Mr. Tardis.
Now thanks to you, when I'm watching the new season I'll be half focusing on whether or not the Doctor is touching grass.
I’ve been watching your videos for over a decade and this is one of the best you’ve ever uploaded. It’s equally hilarious and admirable the great length you went to answer such an interesting question!
Who would have thought I'd get so invested in grass touching lol
Very insightful - always good to lawn something new! I applaud your enthusiasm and dedication. That was a long round trip to Newport. Hope it wasn’t too turf for you

Loved the energy in this video.
Thanks for doing the important work!
A fantastic video and what wonderful research at the end. Fascinating findings and conclusions.
Tremendous video. Bravo.
this was definitely the best use of my time tonight. I love it here. thank you so much for this pertinent info
This was a great and fun video. Please do more
For number ten it get even more complicated if you consider the dismembered hand to have the chance of touching grass
Big thumbs up for the video topic. You have a new sub :)
This is legitimately amazing. Keep doing what you're doing sir. And thank you for consistently great videos.
Luckily this doesn't affect the ranking, but the NTSC to PAL framerate change means the 8th doctor really went 11 minutes and 48 seconds without touching grass
8:25 “ You merely adopted the grass, Tom. I was born in it, moulded by it”
This is a class video love it! ❤❤
Love your channel!
He was so diligent to his research that he himself touched grass. Amazing! Loved the video
Great video.
Before even watching, I know Jon Pertwee is gonna be interesting.
As someone who lives in Newport, it’s kind’ve amazing you traveled all the way from Manchester to go to a filming location just to see if Ncuti Gatwa really touched grass on the church. Nice one. You should go to South Wales more. There’s lots to do, especially in places like Cardiff which is where I study at university. Hilarious vid and glad I saw this in advance on patreon.
Excellent as always!
Thank you for doing this extensive and important research
Great job!!!!
I touched grass last week. Well, I actually tripped over the lawn mower, but it technically counts!
LOL this video cracked me up! Nice work!
Love that the thumbnail picture he doesn't even do it, he just hovers his hand over!
Loved this video, i laughed so much!

This is genuinely the funniest video I’ve ever seen. I like to watch your vids while I work out but I couldn’t this time as I was laughing too damn much
Loved this video. Who knew how much more I could appreciate the show with stats like these.
This was a fun watch. It would be interesting if in the future you revisit this with newer Doctors.
