They often combine disparate elements or items to create something new, shocking, useful or entertaining. Brilliantly explained - thank you! As a branding & design consultant, I think my primary brand archetype is that of the magician - since I do promise transformative experiences for my clients. I think my secondary brand archetype would be the ruler - since I driven by control & prestige - and wanting to make everything look polished and premium. Bluntly put, my clients come to me to look expensive :🤑

Hey man, thanks for the spot on content. I'm a massage therapist and taking a quiz brought up the hero archetype, but that wasn't accurate for then work that I do. The magician is the correct archetype for my brand as I help people step into healthy change, so what I'm really doing is help people connect with their inner hero so they can take better care of themselves. Everything that you shared in this video absolutely verified that I am making the correct move by choosing the magician archetype and building my brand around that. Thank you for creating this video and explaining it so well.

It appeas to me that when this archetype's product or brand is something exciting and new (like a superfood), it can have a short life cycle when or if the novel wears off. I figure that, in such cases, the plan should be to have a second replacement archtype ready in the background.

Archetypes should not be created based around hype, trend or a marketing campaign. They should be based on core branding principles and elements. Your brand archetype can only change when your audience archetype changes fundamentally - not just their interest levels or trends. - Mash

Hello Mash! I have a small store, where I sell vintage Barbies to collectors and I was trying to capture the appropriate Archetype(s) for this brand. What do you think they should be and why?

Hi Carla, not sure about that. You would have to work out the buyer persona and profile to understand the characteristics and then match them with the archetype. - Mash

In that case, Magician may be suitable. But please do go through the process of identifying all characters and then matching them up.
