they are really easy. we talked about the old timers, if they had "heavy whipping cream" on hand like we do...they would probably not have made the rolled out shortening biscuits. these are as good or better

I like using the heavy whipping cream too. I've been on a biscuits roll lol the last couple of weeks. With the chill they are a good go to comfort food that go with everything.

Nice. My question is about the whipping cream. Some recipes say 1, 1½ or 2 cups. Does using more or less make a difference? Also buttermilk vs heavy whipping cream difference 🤔 Thank you 😊 New sub😘

I use this amt of liquid so that it makes the dough "workable". If i add more liquid, I sure I would add more flour as I am working it. As far as the buttermilk vs cream, I would think it would make a difference. Cream contains more fat than buttermilk which is what you need since you are not adding a separate fat (whipping cream contains 37 gm of fat per cup, buttermilk contains only 2 gm of fat.) Hope this helps. Thanks for the new sub...

Do you think you could use full fat buttermilk instead of the whipping cream?

I used to know a girl who used mayonaise in her biscuits for the fat. It has about 10g of fat per tablespoon so I dont know how much you need. Maybe use unsweetened unflavored almond milk for the rest of the liquid? I've heard some use beer. Seriously.
