I love DnD Doge, but it always makes me laugh that he’ll read a story that says something like “That Guy rolled a nat 1 and got so mad he m**dered my dog in cold blood” and Doge will come in like “It seems like That Guy didn’t like rolling a nat 1, based on his overreaction. I can understand being frustrated at rolling poorly, but I think it was a bit much to attack OP’s dog over it.”💀

Yeah, it's kinda killing the videos for me tbh. He's clearly got templates set up that he forces every response to fit into and he's had so many lately where he said "OP should try talking to them" when the story already includes a part where they talked to the person, so it's obvious he isn't even paying attention to what he reads either.

I think I've heard it once before elsewhere a year ago, so I would not be surprised if even those two friends have ditched her due to her obsession.

My pathfinder character is a sorceresses who married another players witch. Together we've adopted a baby dragon. Our GM has literally never made it a major issue, and the only time it's been a big plot point was at the marriage ceremony when many of the party's allies brought us kick ass marriage gifts.

@ArcCaravan I mean, to be fair, a few of the party's allies probably would if they could. I'm fairly certain one of them still considers the time the party sent my sorceress by herself to do negotiations with the ally as a declaration of war, and another one refuses to allow my sorceress anywhere in his castle except the courtyard and dining hall.

I feel bad for the last one. This sounds like something that I would do if I was a bit less socially aware.

Yeah, one MASSIVE Deranged NARC Fanboy/girl does not fully represent an entire group (I'm a big Fan of Drizzt and you don't see me making a OC just to feel like I'm married to him! Hell whenever I do make OC in my favorite stuff I never have them be married or dating ANY of my favorite characters or the mains! I'm more of a SUPPORT type! I'll be that guy on the side who HELPED Aragon become King! And not the "If not for me they wouldn't be THIS" manner more of "I made a Month of Work become a WEEK of Work instead" type of Support! Just never found being a "showstealer" appealing! I like my OC to FEEL like a character the original writer might have made themselves as then I feel like they NATURALLY exist! I can tell the difference between something FAKE or something real! I remember a Manga that did this by showing the "Mary Sue" villain alongside everyone else! And they drew her as very UNREAL AND FAKE as possible compared to the other art to SYMBOLIZE her fakeness everytime they appeared till near the end when funny enough the rare moments she "dropped the act" she was drawn in the SIMILAR art everyone else was to show "this is the REAL her!") Plus I think she reminded me of a comedy where a character was so in love with a certain animal, she kept INSISTING they'd be shoo horned into EVERYTHING like an Obsessive maniac and didn't take it well when they were told NO

@@RuinQueenofOblivion Yep. I lean more to humans! Basic, Yes. But I am what I am. Sometimes I'll play other races. But I'm primarly a Paladin Player. I can never understand PURE obsession over ONE THING! I'd find myself going bored REAL quick if I focused on one thing at a time (I have ADHD) so I tend to "rotate" like a farmer does, between Games, Tabletop, Comics (mostly Manga and Manhua since West Comics have stale for me 13 years ago) and Fanfiction! I might see a Movie! But otherwise I tend not to care too much about those (also suffering STALEMENT) a few I see on a whim simply to spend time with my Sister, BIL/Her Husband, Niece/Their daughter, Brother, other sister and her sons/nephews, or my mother! But the way she sounds feels like an "Entitled BRAT" expected the world to cater to her whims and if not she'll "blow her cheeks out and Hmmph!" like a Karen. No wonder she's losing FRIENDS and burning bridges. Girl needs professional HELP before she nukes her social life and becomes that woman who has Drizzt books and Dark Elf plushes in her Home (Not cats since the little things will tear up her Drizzt dolls LOL)

Last story: Damn, Sarah. I mean, I love Dragons with all my heart and soul (hell, I'm a scaly~) and I would ALWAYS choose the exotic scaly option in games in any RPG Im in. But even I know to take a breather and switch it up to like a Tiefling, or a Tabaxi, or a Shifter. If I could play a Half-Dragon, all my dragon fantasies would come true and be a bardarian, lure a cute NPC into their bed one moment, but not afraid to chuck the whole table across the tavern at the romantic rival looking at the same NPC~ But, yeah, I understand how obsessing over Drow would be hella annoying. The whole point is to be flexible and try different things. Hell, one day I might try being a Dwarf that acts like a comedian that gets a bit pissy with his height, but is truly a master of poisons and stealth. Or maybe a Kobold artificer that makes things that only has three uses and then sets on fire...for no reason and then he/she gets hella pissed and chucks the "useless" thing into the middle of the battle and it explodes. The possibilities are endless!

I find it funny the guy went "it's basic biology" as a excuse to say that two women can't have a kid Like this is a FANTASY world so a child could be made using magic Not to mention that in real life there's a type of female geko that has kids (lesbian gekos) I feel like the players should have told the game shop and other players about what that dm did

1st story. I would left that game real fast. Mind Flayers don't give a F what sexual orientation you are. They gonna turn you into a Mind Flayer or just consume your brain. Also...I hate Mind players >_

Funny thing is, mind flayers are nongendered - they're little tadpoles inhabiting a stolen body, created asexually by the Elder Brain of their colony. Trying to talk to a mind flayer about sexual orientation is like trying to describe the color blue to someone who has been blind since birth - interesting, sure, but ultimately a futile enterprise.

As a Drow fan myself, I have to say I understood the girl in the last story very well, ESPECIALLY for 2nd/3rd edition. I know her mindset very well and what she was going for. But that isn’t to say I agree with her trying to push it forward on everyone like that.

Worse as shown, OP wasn't the FIRST female he did this too! So yeah, her friends exposing him was for the best! A predator like this never stops as long as their victim (s) remain quiet and allow them to continue going around with a "Steller reputation" (as they'll just make MORE victim's) so at least his victim making under the cover of "not being known as a predator" stopped at TWO (really wish it never went PAST that, much less ONE. But well, it is as it is! At least only being a CREEP RP was as far as he went. But you KNOW it eventually would have escalated)

These sorts of horror story DMs are a great example of how some people should never have power over others. These guys become the truly horrible stories of parents, managers, teachers, HOA officials, etc. and in those cases, it isn’t as simple as no D&D is better than bad D&D.

About the last story... I do think one of my favorite characters would have made her spitting mad. Y'see, I needed a cleric NPC due to the team healer for my group (a bard who played like a ranger) bailing at the last second - so when they visited a dwarven outpost the local cleric agreed to go with them. His name? Ultorth Steinfaust, LG cleric of Moradin... and drow. He had been adopted by the Steinfaust clan elder when he was a newborn (apparently, ditching a male infant in the dwarven tunnels is a good idea for a drow priestess who doesn't want to raise him), and now he worshiped the dwarven pantheon, only spoke dwarven rather than elvish or drow, wore a full chainmail and even sported a lovely white beard (a little "please don't kill him, he's a nice guy" sign from Moradin). So, basically Ultorth was a drowish dwarf. As a side note, when the session was over the other player asked me if they could ditch the bard and keep Ultorth, so I think they kinda liked him.

6.31 Oh look, another Schrodinger's Douchebag. When they get called out, suddenly, it's a joke! You can safely bet it would've been completely serious if OP hadn't stood up for his cousin. With the private roleplay story, I think OP actually deserves kudos for staying until the second session because it caused the GM to show his true colours not just with her but in front of all others, it helped the other girl, and she learned that Shawn and Mark would have her back.

I've said this on Two Kobolds in a Trenchcoat's video but oh well. If you can do a ritual to make a newborn into a half-dragon or clone yourself with magic and a really big clay pot, then two gay people can grow a baby in a jar. That's just thaumaturgy~

That second story: o_O; Holy crap! Is it just some kind of overrepresentation bias in these horror stories, or are there more r*pe sex freaks than there were just a few decades ago? Glad the group united to shut down his antics and spare potential future victims.

I could have sworn Doge did the private roleplay before, though it might have been someone else.

Second Story: I honestly hope that DM was blacklisted across the board. Last story: it’s fine if she has her preference for game settings and character creation, but she’s clearly losing more friends than she’s winning with her bs. I have 32 created characters of all different races/subraces and classes, and evenly divided between masculine and feminine body types (which for the most part means half are male and half are female, except for a warforged bard that’s technically an it but has a masculine body type so is identified as male anyway). The only thing that each of them has in common is that they are either of a caster class or will eventually take up a caster subclass. My obsession is with characters that wield magic, and I’m not picky about how they use it mechanically. And I do count the Ki and Psionics systems for Monks and Mystics as a kind of magic

Story #1 - "He was probably in the closet himself." Entirely possible. Kudos to the party for reacting as they did. Story #2 - "... He wouldn't do anything that I didn't like." *Uh, oh.* I really like that this utter creep basically got "outed", not just in that group but in others he was involved with. Best thing that could happen. Story #3 - Not gonna lie, I have specific ..... preferences (and even downright quirks) as regards Characters I like to play. But not to the exclusion of all other possibilities - it all depends on the DM, the system and the setting. I suspect that a lot of other Players are similar in that regard. I feel like this person needs to get out more, perhaps to therapy.

Time for a Lolth Drow centric campaign, everyone!

I had a campaign with a bunch of lgbt friends. Like everyone was some flavor of lgbt (me included) i asked what location they wanted the campaign in. There were 3 choices and they chose the one i expressly said hated lgbt people. Then they all made gay, trans, non-bindary characters. Let me tell you. Being in a group of your best friends all saying homophobic stuff at eachother in character is quite fun.

People who want to role-play THAT should be on a register. It is not OK.

I may be a bit insistent on playing Dragonmarked Subraces options as I find them adds to the race more than they take away, any Dragonmarked human for me over the absolute boring option of variant human that everyone picks and the substandard human nobody picks. But if they are not allowed and I’ll go through several others I want to play, Kalashtar, Eladrin, Warforged, Genasi, Aasimar, Fairy, Shifter, Dhampir, or Reborn, the possibilities are endless and from along my list more than likely something will be allowed.

It's funny how bigots like to spout the "basic biology" thing as if it means anything. Yeah, and "basic math" is 2+1=3, but you might find out that math gets a hell of a lot more complicated than that, and biology is no different. Also, gotta love the Schrodinger's Asshole defense in that first story. "What, it was just a joke! Unless you're cool with it, in which case I'm totally serious."

1st story: pretty self explanatory on why that DM is just awful. Imagine having to get through adolescence with that experience burned into their mind. I feel for OP's cousin. 2nd story: bragging about how much everyone loves their games should have been red flag #1 and is already my queue to look for another table. That said, I can understand OP not wanting everything to fall apart because of them. Anxiety got hands. 3rd story: calling it a horror story is...an exaggeration. At most, it's just obnoxious, but I wouldn't call having a preference a horror story. We've all got a race we obsess over.

Setting aside all the horrible idiocy of that first GM. He's using the literal worst monsters to "care" about sexuality. Ilithids don't have a sex unless they're specifically a successful gnome ilithid, which... is rare for a number of reasons. What little they might care about it is purely to manipulate those around them, so it's just... *gestures frustratedly*

Not revoked, incinerated!!! Story 3: Interesting title. Oh, no! Fangirl to the extreme! Wait, a drow in legend of 5 rings? The Chinese mythology one? Woooooow.

Huh. So we have a case of actual homophobia instead of someone crying it whenever someone asks them to stop making their sexuality their entire personality.

A failure to separate yourself from the character you're playing as is a very common theme on this channel, which goes both ways. Half the people fail to grasp that a character action or attitude doesn't necessarily reflect the player, while the other half doesn't play their character(s), and instead just insert themselves. While it's normal to put some of yourself in the character, it should never be literally you. This means that just because someone plays their character as a dick to other characters, that doesn't mean it happened to you or the other players. You don't get to punch someone or flip a table just because the "edgy" guy stabbed someone. You also shouldn't treat the game as a full on do anything you desire sandbox. Personally I would welcome nasty, explicit, and disturbing content in my sessions, but most people are too sensitive or young to handle dark themes like SA. Writing dark evil characters is good, but it's not for every campaign. Seek likeminded players out beforehand for very adult games. Make "it's what my character would do" legit. Don't have your character do something just because you're aware of something out of character.

What I find iron8c is that they made the bbeg homophobic. Like "Ah yes, this character, who is explicitly designed to be a bad person, this is the character that I will give my morals."

I like your content a lot, your comments are funny and the idea of your youtube channel with the doge is really fun and nice, but if I'm allowed to give a bit of constructive criticism, it would be real nice to hear a bit more emotion in your voice, as you seem to talk a little robotic. I think it'd add a lot more to your channel and make it even more enjoyable than it already is to listen to your videos ^^ Keep up the otherwise good work though!

.... what is there to be scared of?? The hell would he do to you??? Nothing. Stop letting people bluff you. 99.9% of the time people use threats as a way to contol others. When you call their bluff you take all their power over you away. Also maybe learn to fight so incase they try something you can kick their ass.

I personally feel very yicky introducing topics like "Hate toward LGBT / race / religion" in DND game, unless it's really, really rare and measured carefully. Most I would go would be racism / religion hate towards fictional characters, and even that, I would limitate it towards any PC unless they are agreeing to it for story purpose. Either that, or I'd make the NPC full "Cartman" : making the character unbelievebly anti-stuff that he is just a comic relief that everyone can use as a punching bag, but never a real threat in power.

I like fantasy precisely because we can just forget about all of the bad things in life and have some fun with the game. I myself really wouldn't want to bring that stuff into the game and potentially ruin the fun for myself or someone else. I guess it can work if players want something with a sulkier atmosphere and all that, but it's just not my style of game.

Don't get me wrong, I understand wanting to keep playing, and brushing things aside bcs you're adverse to confrontation (I'm a big victim of my on anxiety in this regard); But some of these things are beyond red flags, and aren't worth it just to play a dnd game... idk maybe it's just my unwillingness to stay in deeply uncomfortable situations too long (esp if I can easily remove myself)... I haven't gotten to the 3rd story yet, but a homophobic DM and a DM literally threating you in order to manipulate you into doing literally anything are like messed up from the jump, and shouldn't have gotten to the point of sexual harassment. I mean these aren't allusions to worst behaviors they already THEE bad behaviors already. I do understand that they were young, and when you're in your teens (esp 15), you succumb to peer pressure and don't want to be the center of attention or look like the buzzkill"; But it's literally just a game, just take your character somewhere else
