It's the ex-military/operator mindset, everything that doesn't yell HOORAH is a baddie and needs to be killed ASAP. The pig hunt with Joe and Matt is actually very telling. Matt was just letting the pig die on his own terms after one fatal hit, but Joe had to make sure he could use his own made spear too and stabbed the pig a needless time. Hoorah?

Yeah, but at the end of the day in a hostile environment (behind enemy lines), would you rather be with a tree hugger or rambo? IMO, they both bring something to the table. They just didn't go together. Joe should be a one-man show.

@@tc1uscg65 this is not a combat scenario though, right? Any environment is as threatening as you perceive it yourself, Cody's knowledge and skill makes it so he feels more at home in this non-combat environment and therefore reacts more calmly and rational.

Exactly, he's too busy being Hung-ho GI Joe! Slow down, not everything is a threat or emergency. He really should spend time in the wilds of Africa with tribes men who still live in grass and mud huts and hunt and gather what they need. They don't get all hyped up about it, they're calm, cool and collected about their plans and actions.

@@ogsniper743 no, its not like it was inside a house, rattlesnakes will literal get away from you if you leave them alone, they're not agressive and they don't like people, you would have to step on it or step right next to it for it to strike, and thats only gonna happen in bushes next to rocks,hidden area's etc, if they set up camp there in a open area the rattlesnake isn't gonna come after them, its gonna go hide under a rock or in some bushes, i saw the episode, if it was an agressive type of snake thats different, but even then, its better to just to get away, most people get bit when messing around trying to kill them etc, thats when you get bit, not when you're leaving it alone, they bite when you're trying to fuck around with sticks trying to kill em.

His son has zero experience yet came up with a simple spear-fishing idea that Les thought was bound to fail. It worked and they both ate that night. Leaving ideas unsaid because someone is more experienced is probably not the best idea, especially in a survival situation.

A guy like Joe would try to charge you by the hour to hang out. That's no exaggeration either! His contract states that for a 40 minute public appearance, 5 to 10,000 dollars, plus travel, vehicle rental, hotels, and dining... the sick part is that he actually gets booked for events where he stands up there and lies his ass off. god I miss Dave, even if he did fuck up and lie about his background the dude was always concerned first and foremost with educating people on survival tactics unlike this goofy idiot Joe, Dave still to this day posts survival and bushcraft videos on his Instagram almost daily, I don't really blame Dave for lying he probably really needed the opportunity the show would have given him at the time and he really did have great survival skills, wish they would bring him back for his own show....

Cody always wants to do his way, he wants to show off his knowledge of things instead of being a team player.. this is a surviving show, any chance to collect food and water then jump on it, not theorizing the sequence of events and a constant analyzing risk/reward ...it's annoying to listen to him arguing in every show.. this type of attitude won't attract many audiences, the outcome is predictable.. that's why this show won't exist anymore..

It's also super amusing to see that Cody couldn't start a fire 1 out of 2 times and his replacement did it almost every time instantly. Cody is not a nice guy and his skills are not as good as he makes it appear, but he did make the show a lot more interesting to watch.

@@lal5555f Clearly you’ve never served in the military. Because the government owns your time and anyone who out ranks you tells you exactly what to do, how to do it and when to do it. That’s the nature of the beast and that term is carried into civilian life by many of us. It’s not about who’s time is more important, it’s about getting a job done in a timely manner as opposed to having some lazy fuck meandering through the day and causing more work for others. When I tell one of my employees to move with a purpose it simply means the task is time sensitive and they need to be moving with a sense of urgency to accomplish the task with the allotted time frame. Get out of your parents basement and learn to stop acting like you are so damn important with your sensitive ass feelings.

Btw the way, this is pretty much exactly how most people get biten by a snake. Snake clearly says "Please dude, dont disturb me, i just live here" Human say "Haha i´m Mister Big-Man i will poke u with a stick".

It would be like if Cody had to go through the ERE in SERE. It's related but not exactly his scene. Not that he isn't useful. It would be really cool to see Joe in a show about escape and evasion. Like that poacher situation they got into in Africa.

@@wyldeyouth Nah man. It's been confirmed that he was really in those units, and I'm telling you from experience, you don't get to those units without deploying. I mean... just to get to GRS you have to have several combat deployments for them to even consider giving you an interview.

The producers of this show did a great job pairing these two people. It's like a buddy cop comedy. That guy Cody seems like a real deal survivalist expert. It's like Ray mears accompanying bear grills and just tolerating him the whole time. I have respect for survivalism and the wild. It feels almost sacred for lack of a better word. A massive piece of our heritage.

@@kuno6286 Not sure if you are joking or not but Joe Teti is not a marine, army, air force, or green beret, those were all lies, he took one diving course at a marine diving school which anyone could join you didnt have to be a marine to get diving lessons there, that is the only training he had officialy from the army everything else he says is a lie, and it wasn't even combat diving lessons, just regular free diving lessons. He is a fraud that has been called out by multiple high ranking officials in the marines, and I hope you realize that now.

@@Northanteus I live in Arizona - We have more species of rattlesnake than anywhere else in the country. In addition to keeping rattlesnakes in captivity I also live at the edge of the desert. Much like the same land they’re “camping” on for entertainment. You’re wrong. In every aspect. They were in no more danger than they were after they killed the snake. There literally could have been a den of the snakes near by. They were taking “refuge” near the sole source of water so there were almost certainly more rattlesnakes in the area. So again - killing the snake didn’t change their safety level AT ALL.

They had to cross a large area dangerously exposed to the sun at the cost of their hydration. So they had to cross quick. But he couldn't keep up at a productive rate before they hit the area. Constantly taking out the pricks, and walking gingerly after cuz of the irritation. So he had to make sandals.

With the possible exception of Les Stroud (who did his own filming), odds are none of them were ever actually in true "survival situations" during the filming of their shows. They probably have at least some of the skills, but I doubt the networks ever let them fully do it for real if for no other reason than to avoid insurance issues or lawsuits from family if anyone ever got hurt/killed.

@@Vales55 Yah they are all survival experts in there own rights, but even in this clip body said just because you know how to does not mean you will survive. These shows do give survival tips but they are never actually in any danger. I do find it funny that people think that they are tho.

There’s a whole film crew that go including a medical expert with supplies tents food 4wd etc its just a show bear grills did it used to stay in accommodation and the next morning film himself getting out off his homemade bush shelter

At one point it sounded like he was laughing so hard he was about to start coughing. Him laughing like that made me laugh.

That stone or concrete box was a watering trough, I believe. Cows & horses drink lots of water. So there had to be a well or other water source close by. No one carried that much water for miles. So Cody looked for and found a water source. Maybe he gave commentary about this and it was edited out? So I thought I would mention it here. If you are out in wilderness somewhere, but come to the ruins of a farm- the animals needed lots of water. Where did the farmer get it? Water courses (above ground and under) can change over time. But still, you should be able to find water nearby. I am from New England / Quebec, not the desert though.

Yea tragically in these types of environments farms literally dry up and die with their water source but its still smart to scour the joint for resources.
