Clearing the Air: Fat Loss Myths Exposed

#podcast #fatloss #health
In this episode, Cody debunks several fat loss myths that are commonly believed. He emphasizes that overall calorie intake is what matters most for weight gain or loss, not the timing of meals. He also dispels the myth that carbohydrates make you fat, explaining that overeating any macronutrient can lead to weight gain. Cody cautions against extreme calorie restriction, as it can cause metabolic adaptation and hinder long-term weight loss. He also discusses the misconception that supplements can effortlessly help with fat loss, highlighting the importance of lifestyle changes. Cody explains that spot reduction is a myth and that fat loss is determined by genetics and overall calorie deficit. He concludes by debunking the idea that detox teas and skipping meals aid in weight loss, and emphasizes the importance of eating nutrient-dense foods and maintaining a balanced diet.

Love these videos so much - extremely helpful! I'm still fairly early in my fitness journey (only really started in the middle of January, but have been consistent since then.) After starting from ground 0 in regards to stamina with anything by focusing on cardio (now on the elliptical for 30 minutes + ~10k steps) I've been looking to transition into weight training. I've noticed that there is a LOT of emphasis on hitting those daily protein goals, and I've been navigating my diet towards trying to get in as much as I can while still trying to watch my calories ... but it has been challenging to hit the protein without those protein "snacks". I'm just wondering if snack foods are really THAT bad if they're focused on being "healthier"? At least while I still try to find meals that can help me hit them without snacking as much. Thank you again for your advice, Cody - you're a huge inspiration!

Thank you for watching! Im glad you are finding these helpful! As far as the protein snacks: It is a step up from just not hitting your protein goal for sure and generally they can be a transition food that you can work towards transitioning to more whole food sources after you get the hang of hitting your protein goal. :)

What do you think about fasting?. Iv Hurd fasting can help with muscle growth by having your brain release a hormone?

This would be a great topic to dive deeper into but essentially fasting is a tool to restrict calories but it isn’t anymore beneficial than just being in a calorie deficit.
