Thanks Leandra. I hope you are keeping well. Another subscriber has commented that Frankenweenie is not a light watch 🤔 so I don't think it will be the light-hearted film I was thinking it would be. At least I will be aware of this going in.

Aww, so good to see you back - hopefully the health issues that have kept you away are starting to move in a positive direction for you. 'Frankenstein' is one of those books I've been meaning to read for ever. Almost the only thing I know about it (other than the basic story) is that the book is quite different from most of the film adaptations that most of us have seen over the years and treats the monster far more sympathetically than in the films. My 2023 'dance card' for books is full at the moment but 'Frankenstein' is in with a chance of making my 2024 TBR - particularly as it is such a short read. I'll be interested to hear your reaction to the book, as well as to all the other items on your bingo card. Thanks for the video and, once again welcome back. Take care - kind regards, Brian.

Hey Brian 🤗 - it's really good to be back and chatting with bookish friends again. Fingers crossed re my health 🤞 Yes the screen adaptions don't seem to have been faithful to the book. Look at you - filling your dance up when we're only half way through the year 😂😂 Thanks for staying subscribed while I was away - much appreciated. All the best

Hello Debra, So wonderful to see you here again! I read Frankenstein last year as a buddy read and it was wonderful! I never thought that book would be for me but it was. I'm being kind to myself as well because of a sluggish few months and health issues. Wishing you a wonderful experience with Jack. She's lovely! Aloha.

That looks like a great bunch of books. I hope the readalong goes well. Although they aren't very faithful to the books I like the Boris Karloff movies, particularly the first two, for the pathos of the depiction of the Creature. Plus in the second one Bride of Frankenstein, there is an amazing prologue scene featuring Mary Shelley!

Hi Roy - thanks for the info re the Karloff films. I'm going to see if I can find them somewhere and add them to my list. Definitely interested in the prologue with Mary Shelley.

Yay you're back! I'm coming back from a short break as well. I have the same edition of Frankenstein and I also used the audiobook. Love all the Frankenstein-related books on your tbr! I've never seen a single movie/tv adaptation of Frankenstein-- very curious to hear which one your favorite is! I've seen in my ads that they're selling a map of all the Frankenstein locations--so tempted but also where would I put it?? I hope you're feeling better and that you'll be up for making more videos xx

Your Frankenstein bingo sounds fun! What a neat idea...I am imagining how I could do something similar for other books. I have only read the book Frankenstein, and that was when I was 18 (and we're probably close to the same age; I really should re-read it). I'm interested in hearing what your thoughts are on all of these books and films!

Hello Elizabeth 🙂 I am so pleased you like this idea and feel inspired. It's got me thinking too and I am already planning other bookish inspired bingo boards. I enjoy making little projects for myself - they are a good distraction from life 😂 But then I have to be careful that I don't overwhelm myself with all the things I want to do. I am really interested to read Frankenstein and it explore some of the other things the book and Mary Shelley has inspired. If you do re-read it, I would love to hear what you think of it now. Thanks for staying subscribed to my channel while I was away. It's much appreciated. Take Care

I'm glad to see you back! Frankenstein is such an interesting book. I think listening to an audio book while reading along in the book is such a great way to tackle classics, especially those you might have a hard time reading. I do that quite a bit. I haven't read or seen any of these books you mentioned except the original book of course. I did come across a Frankenstein book series written by Dean Koontz - The monster is in modern times, and he helps the police solve crimes, or something like that. I read the first one ages ago, and I remember enjoying it, but not enough to keep on in the series.

Hi Art - I really enjoyed pairing the book with the audio version when we read Great Expectations and Cranford. It really enhances my experience and can bring the writing to life. Frankenstein helping the police to solve crimes is a interesting concept. Frankenstein was a really interesting read. Lots to reflect on. I hope you are keeping well.
