Can't thank you enough for posting this. I have a K1 Dominus that has been trouble free but I sent this to a fellow Dominus owner who has been through 2 boards and neither has been able to get past Q-code 00.

As much as I use ASUS boards this one has beaten me up, this is actually my second review. I'm posting this message to hopefully get the attention of someone at ASUS that will address the problem with these boards. I am fortunate enough to have purchased more than one for system builds. I purchased the first board over a month ago and I could never get the board to post, Q-code 00 is as far as I got. I turned off and on numerous times before it finally started, then I let the board sit overnight and then tried to start it, same problem. Newegg did RMA for new board, same problem. I figured I would contact ASUS, after trouble shooting with tech I did RMA with ASUS, however, while I was waiting for the board to be repaired I decided to purchase one from another store thinking that Newegg may have gotten a bad batch, the board worked!, that was odd to say the least. I looked at the serial numbers and the board from another store that was actually an earlier model, serial starting with K3, the board I sent in for repairs starts with K4. Finally ASUS let me know they would be sending a new board, when I received the replacement I looked at the serial number I figured it was the newest release, serial started with K5. I immediately set the board up and had the same problem as my K4 board. I am presently trying to get a video to ASUS so that I could show them what I did to make the board POST but they say they cannot open the file. Months ago I saw a video of a guy having the same problem booting the board after it sits for 2 hours or more, I searched "cold boot problems" and saw a video of a guy with an ASUS board that would not boot after it sat for a period of time. So I turned on my board Q-code stayed at 00, I turned on the blow dryer, blew heat over Q-code area and the board started right away. It seems that something is wrong at ASUS manufacture and tech support cannot really help they ask you to repeat all the steps that you have already done, I would just ask how long have you been building PCs to establish credibility. I usually don't post reviews but this has really been a disappointment and I am still trying to figure it out with a new board from ASUS, how can you honor a warranty if you cannot replace a bad product with a good one. So if any of you want to see your board start just blow a little heat on it for about 10 seconds you will be suprised

@@StudioSasha I am as frustrated as you. I have now waited nearly 4 weeks for RMA to ASUS. 3 weeks since the retalier sent it to them. This situation is unacceptable. I am dreading just getting a replacment with the same problem!! I have tried 3 motherboards in total!! ASUS is apparently aware of the problem according to an american ASUS tech supporter. But he can´t helt as I live in Europe.

@@malthekristiansen5058 They are aware? Bullshit. I just received my motherboard today after my third RMA. I love the big white sticker showing *PASS* on the outside as if to give u hope it works. I just got error code 00 again. Turned on hair dryer and immediately I get a post and can get into BIOS. What a joke...

Unfortunately I work for ASUS Computer International, which is the United States branch of ASUS and is a separate entity from ASUS Nordic. All the RMA and related services for your motherboard will be carried out by their team. With that being said, ACI is aware of the Q-code 00 error with the Dominus Extreme boards and is actively investigating it. What I can do is get your RMA number and serial number of the motherboard, and attempt to reach out to ASUS Nordic and make sure they are aware of the Q-code 00 issue. Once I give them that heads up, that is about all I can do from my end. I hope everything goes well, we want to get this issue figured out as much as you do! Best Regards, Lane P. My vendor has just accepted that the motherboard is faulty. They will give me credit! Not a refund. I will go for the Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme instead. If they can not deliver that. I will see if I can get my money via paypal. And get the Gigabyte via Amazon. This is an ongoing farce.... Damn, I regret buying this system.....

This is an awesome video... I've sent tech support at asus this link as I've on my 4th MB with the exact same issue. Each board I send back they say is DOA and their main technical support chat don't know they have a bad batch of these dominus extreme boards. Each new board I get is "passed" testing but each one is dead. I'm going to go find my heat gun.

Hello, I have been suffering with the same problem for 1 day, today I tried another microprocessor and the problem was solved, now I am trying it to see if it doesn't hit more.

in my case it was an X570 Aorus Master build - after trying everything else I finally removed the CPU cooler and CPU - I examined the CPU under lighted magnification and discovered the 1st pin in the arrow corner was mangled

Got the same problem with an Asus Prime X299 Deluxe II mobo after startup without boot brand new board. Asus seems to have major issues with their mobos nowadays with Q code 00...

I have a code fb it indicates Reserved for future AMI error codes. I need help just built this brand new system 5 days ago sometimes it boots sometimes it gets stuck on republic of gamers.

There is a problem with the smd parts around the q code display, Roman or Der8er as he is known fixed his board along with Wendell of Level1Techs fixed these boards......

Hi I bought the dominus 3 months ago. And have had Q-code 00 since the beginning. As I didn´t know what the problem was I have tried RMA the CPU twice. I have had in total 3 dominus boards, alle Q-code 00. Changed memory. 4 different power supplies. I have been in contact with ASUS they never mentioned the board had problems, so I have been left in the dark, as to what the issue was. Never imagined that 3 boards could be faulty!! Misterously I have managed to boot for 2 days but only after I had left the boards on for a while showing q-code 00. But that particular board died thereafter. It probably heated up and managed to boot. In the process my 2 titan x pascals died. I have now RMAed the first dominus I bought. The 2 others I just send back for a refund. I think ASUS should come with som explanation. I wouldn´t purchase this board at the moment. Go for the gigabyte one.

One of the most cases this error occurs is that the contact pressure of the CPU cooler mounted on the CPU is too high. Release the pressure a bit by unscrew the cooler a bit. I recently had this problem. This error occured after 2 years of gaming without issues. It came out of the blue. Never changed anything. And yesterday after i booted the system again in the evening i received this error. My monitor screen was black but the lights of the board and ram went on. But instantly after booting the little screen on the ASUS XI extreme board showed error code 00 and the CPU symbol beneath it. Then i read an article to try to release the pressure. With all doubts i losened the screws a bit, booted the system again and the error code disappeared. It all worked fine again.

i just had this error ( 00 ) after i cleaned my fans and i removed my gpu(video card ) and cleand it too . when a installed my gpu my computer gave an error 19 (memory) and removed and reseated the memory then i got the error 00 and a rempved and reseated the gpu in the system and it started normaly.

this just happened to me with MSI X99A Gaming 7 with i7 6850K, after enabling EUP2013 in BIOS settings. I changed M.2 PCH to PCIE mode aswell but it's not power related AFAIK.. Solution: toggle PSU off (button) press and hold power on button for pc several seconds, power on PSU and power on PC, enjoy...

Oh you have to do to fix it it’s just mounted hair dryer inside your computer. All good 😌

After hair dryer 4 second back cover of CPU place system start up no problem. after off put AC for 10 min sytem never start up Q code 00

Let's be real, you're going to kill that cpu with that cooler.

naja ich kenne elektro geräte. fehlcode 00 wegen bios chip crash, klein chip EPU, klein chip digi, VRM, ic sot chip oder kaltlöten problem.

Yea I tried multiple things. Went through support with swapping PSU's, BIOS update, etc... Nothing worked. The board still had some type of thermal sensor problem. I got a new replacement board today. Using the exact same equipment the new board booted up first time no problem. The original board was definitely bad. Good luck to you. Test it right when you get it so if it's bad you can return for replacement.
