Thanks for this! Solved my issue on my MSI MEG Ace x570 board. I downloaded MSI Center from the app store and clicked: Support > Advanced and it scanned my computer. Clicked the LED update and everything is working normally again.

Wow man, thank you so much! I have the x570 Godlike and had the same issue whenever my PC would remain idle for too long or was put to sleep. I have been dealing with this issue for almost a year now. After talking with MSI’s pointless “tech support,” I had just accepted that I could never put my PC to sleep. You are the only person I have seen so far recommend this specific fix, and right when I did the scan it recommended I update the FW. I have done the scan before and updated most things, so I guess MSI finally figured this out themselves. Pretty bad on MSI’s side to take multiple years to find and figure out one of the most common issues plaguing their boards, including the $700 Godlike. Again, thank you man! Also btw, the chipset fan and fans running a curve tied to CPU temp think the temps of the chipset and CPU are actually at 00 when the LED gets bugged. If your board somehow isn’t fixed by the update, or in the mean time, set your fan curves to account for the board thinking your temps are at 00. This is what I’ve done for over a year. Kind of ironic the debug LED was bugged lol

I am super glad the issue has been fixed 😊 their tech support is quite clueless and they wanted me to RMA the board 🤦‍♂️ that would have taken a few days and the downtime would have been unacceptable since this is my main PC. They should make an announcement on the motherboard page asking people to update the LED FW.

@@TechGuyCharlie Yes, all the fans are actually adjusting to the curve now. I wonder why this firmware is buried in this software and isn't even available from the support page on the MSI site!

I have the msi meg and recently got the 00 temp bug. I updated the bios and tried updating/reinstalling dragon center and apps.. no dice. I uninstalled dragon center and sdk completely and shutdown and unplugged the computer for about a minute. On boot, the correct temperature was in the debug window and the fans were working. I installed dragon center and setup fan curves again and haven’t seen the issue since. Ymmv, but I believe disconnecting the power is what actually fixed the issue.

I watched your video a few weeks back. Yesterday I noticed the “00” code on my x570 unify. After a reboot my temperature reading was back. But this issue guided me to this video. After following your instructions, I too had updated the led firmware. Thank you for this. Fingers crossed it fixed the issue. What is your experience since you updated this firmware?

Seems like this is a common bug with MSI boards with the 7 segment LED display. Glad your problem is fixed, hopefully it wont pop-up again. I personally haven't faced any issues since the firmware update which is great because getting an RMA is next to impossible these days due to semiconductor shortage.

Doesn't show that LED update, only a bios update. 570 Unify here

my dc is not saying there is a fw update. can not find out how to download update.

Hello, unfortunately I have a very similiar issue on different motherboard, MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK. CPU LED ON, fan curves not working, no voltage reading in HW monitor. With playing with turning power supply on and off, I managed few times to get rid of it for few days, but it occurs again. Unfortunately in MSI Dragon when I go to advanced it says no updates available, you have latest bios.

On my machine this was introduced after doing a bios update. I managed to fix it by unplugging the PC and plugging it back in. I guess it just needed a power cycle.

Every time I got the 00 debug LED on my MSI X570 Creation motherboard it would always randomly shutdown. I just updated the firmware on my debug LED, and I hope this solved my on going problem with my motherboard randomly shutting off when I have the 00 debug LED. Thanks for sharing this. I would have never known MSI hid something like this.

I’m surprised MSI is not pushing this hidden firmware update to others that have this same problem, and there are a lot of people with this mysterious random shutdown issue with their MSI mobos. If you’re having this issue on the X570 Godlike, just unplug the system completely from the wall and hold the power button down for 30 seconds. Plug it back in and boot it up and it should fix your issue. I’ve been trying to figure this out for 2 days and it really was that simple.

This is usually only a temporary fix. I have the x570 Godlike and this only resets the issue, it still popped back up after being put to sleep. The LED FW update actually solved it. Finally!

Not really, all I did was plug in the Corsair LED strip and installed Dragon Center that is when this problem started, were you able to fix it?

Why my monitor is off and yours is not

I kept getting C1 and A2 error codes on my msi Z590 ace gold edition. The problem with those codes is my monitor wont even turn on. I just ordered another motherboard and hopefully that will fix the problem.

Back in January I got C1 error along with no display and a red LED which had CPU written on the side was lit up, turns out it was a faulty CPU. Not sure about Z590 Ace but you might want to check the status LEDs they will help diagnose the issue.

this didn't solve it for me, but my problem isn't exactly like yours. I've gotten the 00 issue but when that happens I also lose my display signal and I can't shutdown my PC, the power and reset buttons on both my case and motherboard don't work so i have to actually flip the power switch on my PSU then flip it back on then hit the power button on my case and my pc boots up fine. I checked event viewer right after I had this issue and it didn't show any errors or events. Also I don't have Dragon Center installed and it does show my CPU temp on the debug display. I'm on a MEG B550 Unify-X. If anyone else has had this problem and fixed it please let me know, this has happened twice since I got the mobo last week.

I guess you might have already tried updating the BIOS? Weird, maybe Dragon Center is interfering? which it should not.

So I'm also having a problem that might possibly be the motherboard. I have this same exact motherboard and the LED display is also at 00, but the biggest problem is that my monitor is not finding a connection source to my PC. This is my first actual build, I can turn on the PC, all the fans work, the LEDs on the motherboard, GPU, and memory sticks all come on, but my monitor won't connect. It'll say "Connection Source Not Found" and then "Going into Power Saver Mode". I've tried switching to different inputs on my monitor, and I even tried using an HDMI cable, but nothing worked. I'm stuck and really worried that I might have a defective motherboard, or worse, a defective GPU, as GPUs are extremely hard to get currently...

Could you try the graphics card in another PC? maybe in your friends PC? If the GPU works then its confirmed that the motherboard is DOA.

this is a love hate motherboard :( the msi download is trash i feel like that broke everything

Absolutely! Dragon center is meh! but its the same with other vendors as well, Recently I built a PC for a friend and he picked out Aorus Master B550, Gigabytes software is far worse than MSI.

Worst motherboard in history, I just bought it and it's not worth buying any MSI.
