holy cow, i was on my last hope with my i7 6700k on my Asus Maximus VIII Extreme, i've tried literally everything (swapping graphics card, trying onboard, swapping ram and alternating slots, booting from a bootable pendrive, updating BIOS, etc) and nothing seemed to work. I've searched on google a last time "Asus QCode 02" and i found your video... now my pc is up and running (welp... more slowly because of the cores, but still...) really thank you!

No Problem! I got lucky because my I7-6700K was still under warranty! Sent it in and got a new one back! Warranty is 3 years from date of purchase! If your out of warranty the I7-7700K will work on your Z170 mobo with a bios update. Check prices on ebay and make sure they guarantee it to work if you go used. Good Luck and thanks for Sub!

Lol yea it took me about 5 days before I figured it out on my own.

just had the same problem... Rig froze during gaming... then short after reboot.. then didnt boot at all.. same as you.... your workaround helpeld to get back into my system... only with one core :(.... good find m8

I have the Asus Maximus VIII Hero, and was able to get into the bios, so I updated it to the latest, and once it restarted, I had black screen. I musta rebooted 20 times doing different things each time and EACH time it would get stuck on A2 even though I had nothing else connected. My screen would usually flicker - making me think it was getting a signal. Your vid made me think to connect it to my tv via hdmi, and voila! I had a picture!! Was able to get into bios and do what I needed. TRY ANOTHER MONITOR or TV people.

Did you try unplugging/replugging the first monitor cable from the GPU? That's another issue I have encountered and usually fixes the black screen in that scenario Asus Q-Code A0.

What's going on with your rig?

My PC used to get onto the bios fine, but when i put a microsoft 10 usb in and booted it up, no video input and 02 q-code. Tried replugging power supply to video card, replugging monitor hdmi cable. Trying a new monitor and DP cable instead, if it doesn't work I'm not sure what to do next.

what cpu, mobo and gpu do you have? Is this a new build or were your just reinstalling windows 10?

I have a 5900x, 32gb ram (4000mhz), rtx 3080, x2 nvme m.2 1 tb, and a 850 platinum power supply, all this with a x570 formula viii motherboard, I power the pc and she doesn’t go to the bios, all is new, it get stuck at the motherboard screen, like, the mouse and keyboard got power, but the pc don’t recognize them, there are not those perifericals, (srry my english, im spanish)

Yea my CPU is bad so I sent it back to Intel for warranty. Intel retail cpus come with a 3 year warranty with proof of purchase. Waiting for them to send me back a new one at the moment.

Update on my warranty! Good News is Intel sent me back a new in the retail box CPU! Bad News is I did not get a new 3 year warranty for new CPU. It continues from original CPU which means my warranty will end March 2019. Total bullshit!

So my b550 e gaming is showing the same code. It was working fine yesterday. Today it won't even boot. The vga light is on along with the green boot light on top of it. It long beeps once then 2 quick beeps. Screen is just black. I have cleared c mo's. Reseated the ram. Swapped gpu's. I guess I need to send it to Asus

When you say black screen do you mean you can't even get into the BIOS? What are the specs of your build? Have you tried to clear the CMOS?

at first yeah it wouldnt show anything. what i ended up doing is swapping the pci cable from my gpu to my PSU. and i only had 2 of the 3 on my video card hooked up. so i changed the wire and hooked up the 3rd and the motherboard menu came up next boot. i got windows loaded and my games installing.

@@GPStuntMan yeah I did that, ended up having to reflash the bios, then I had to only use dimm slot b1(to post to bios after I got a good boot I put my other stick in all was good). Also had to switch to SATA ports from 3,4,5 to 5,6,7.

i have a ryzen 7 3800x with the amd cpu cooler asus rog strix rx580 oc version asus rog strix x570 e gaming trident z neo 2x16 gb and q code says 02 constantly i tried remmoving the gpu and didnt work i reattached all cables didnt work so i figured it was the used ssd( it was a internal ssd firecuda) the ssd was last used by my brother then he gave it to me tell if if you have the solution thanks, Edit: also i cant even start up the pc for example the monitor stays blank nothin showin up

Have you tried to clear the cmos? Just checked you will need to remove/ reinstall battery to clear cmos.

So what do you have black screen? What error code does Q-code LCD give you? What light is lite on the Q-dimm? Have you checked all cables to make sure they are fully seated? Make sure video cable from monitor is plugged into GPU and not MOBO. Lmk?

If you have a high refresh monitor? A display port cable gives better performance than hdmi. Maybe you had to enable the display port setting on monitor if it doesnt auto switch inputs. Also I have experienced black screen with display port in the past. To fix. You have to unplug cable from GPU and reinstall. Or maybe your display cable is defective. Congrats on finding the fix.

Most likely because ryzen CPUs dont have on board graphics.

I use my brother's computer because mine is gone, and today it shows Q-code 11 and it says a new CPU has been installed, along with some bad screen glitches. I need help. :( TL;DR: Computer won't boot and shows Q-code 11

@@GPStuntMan I have no information other than the computer being powered by EVGA and Republic of gamers, processor/CPU is an i7-(----) Intel chip. Graphics card is GTX 7(-)0, I'm so sorry I have very meager information, I wasn't paying attention because I did not anticipate a day like this would come... But my best guess is a CPU problem, as I also got 00 and 0d, so we had to unplug the computer. Again, I am very sorry about the very vague explanation.

Mine won't boot and it says code 8 I just don't even know what to do

@@GPStuntMan I figured it out no it's the threadripper 399X 12-core CPU I took my AIO cooler off and did my custom loop I had to flash the bios and then everything came back

I just built a 3800X build with C8H and I get this 02. I can’t even get into bios. After the green light I get 02 and that’s it. Any ideas?

First thing I would check is all the PSU cables and make sure they are fully seated. If you have PSU cable extensions try to boot without them. A pin might be bad. Also try to clear CMOS. Let me know if any of this works? Good luck!

GayPornStuntMan I do have one question. I have 3x120 intake and 3x120 on 360 Rad exhaust, and a 140 exhaust. All 120’s are the same. So this way I have negative pressure therefore tons of dust in the future. I set the fan curves as follow: intake turbo, Rad exhaust standard, 140 exhaust silent. You get the idea. But in the end when I hit 70C all goes to 100% and it’s negatives again. Any ideas how to optimize this?

@@jiajianhou426 Sorry for the delay. They only way to guarantee Positive Pressure is to have more Intake than Exhaust fans. So here are some ideas: 1-Flip rad fans to Intake fans. (This will push rad heat over other components) 2-Flip 140 rear exhaust fan to intake and put a 140x140 dust filter between case and fan. They sell them on amazon: www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Magnetic-Filter-Cooling-AC-003-ON1NAN-A1/dp/B00KHO0CZW/ref=sr_1_15?crid=36EGVXCDZEC3P&keywords=140mm+fan+filter&qid=1567455427&s=gateway&sprefix=140%2Caps%2C184&sr=8-15 3-Remove the 140 rear exhaust fan. (Even Pressure is better than negative pressure) IMO I would do option #2 Software wont work due to the fact once fans go 100% you generate negative pressure. Let me know what you think and which option you choose? Hope this helps.
