Antique & Vintage Extravaganza! | Selling Success in Florida
I'm coming back to Renninger's Antique Extravaganza this weekend! Part of my prep is to remember what happened the last time we sold there, so It's discount Sunday, and we're out scouting for the unusual items left in a huge antique market after two frantic days of selling.
This place is full of surprises and real scarcities, from a booth full of early musical disk players and machines to an 1870s ball bearing cash drawer that brings up no comps and looks headed to a good auction! Flying saucers and Jayne Mansfield offer fun for toy, movie star and modernist kitsch collectors, whose passions are well represented in this show.
A knowledgable dealer with interesting merchandise talks about real Black Americana portraits, Alexander Calder's life as a painter and why it's best to leave artist's jewelry unadulterated. Even the term 'Blood Heat' isn't as sinister as it sounds!
Our ship crosses the tides, and our journey back makes us look so forward to the antique show coming back to Mount Dora, Florida this weekend! Come visit me in Booth #4079/#4090...and join our next video premiere Wednesday 8 pm eastern to see some of what I have to bring!

I keep looking for the most unusual things I can find so you folks can enjoy them with me!
Shoulda tried on the hats like you do! That feathered one would have looked amazing on!
Can on back to watch again. Always learning more from you, George 📚
What a good time and some great history lessons. One good reason to love antiques the history.
It is so neat to be able to see these very unusual things. There’s probably no way that would have happened for me without you, George. Very much appreciated! 💚💚💚🙏🙏🙏
Thank you George for these videos! I can't get around anymore to the shows but because of your videos it's like being there shopping & selling! Have a terrific show and happy hunting!!
Back in the day, my mother picked up the plates and other pieces with the anchor on the rim at thrift stores in Bremerton any time she saw them. We ended up with a lot of them. I’ve never seen them anywhere else - let alone so many!
Thank you so much for fun and info. Love your personality 😊
Loven the unusual finds you show us !! Thanks 😊
Absolutely love learning every time I watch your channel. Thank you!
My goodness, wild George, that was super. There were so many things I've never seen before. You always find good sales like that. I had fun watching it.😊❤😊❤😊
I'm so excited for this weekend's extravaganza! I finally get to check out your booth. Thanks for sharing your booth number and am looking forward to the preview!
Aww, my sister still has her bright pink elephant, bank from childhood .
Great video George. We always see unusual finds with you. It’s a great learning experience.
Wow..a wonderful museum one to the max....thank you!!
Good evening, George! Loved that rolling music machine/music box. That fish cocktail set would fit right in with my interest in beverage sets collection. I really liked that set. Those sterling miniatures were fantastic! Was that statue with the candelabra a newel lamp? I really liked that. That Brastoff cat figure really interested me. It had a Bastet look to it. I really liked that alligator skin doctor's bag. That's not usually something that would catch my attention, but I really did like that one. That till machine was super interesting! Wow! That ship model was fantastic! There were a lot of "first time seeing" items there. That place would've kept me fascinated! Thanks for the take-along!

Hello my friend! I was quite fond of that, I've not had one to sell in a few years but they are quite remarkable. The fish set is absolutely right for my collection as well! I kept the pink elephant set instead though. Brastoff is really quite amazing, he can be very freeform and extravagant or very studied and sculptural. That particular bag had good contrast between panels, and the shape was pleasant and looked its age. I was really impressed my friends found something so unusual as that till! I will have to inquire as to what happened to it.

So many one of finds in this video! There is a neat Penobscot Maritime Museum in Searsport, ME and I think that's where I saw a ship model with the waves on the base like that. Of course there are several Maritime Museums in Maine and New England of course. 😊

Very well thought out. I imagine that they must have cost a lot back in the day, but it was worth it. It was very simple to add up your till and keep your records in your ledger. My only question is what you would do if a supplier came in with a delivery and you had to pay him out of the drawer. I guess you would leave a note inside so you could deduct the amount. I love using things like that in my decorating projects. Something people have never seen that they can play with in your living room is a great ice breaker. I used to have many things on my coffee table when i was married - including a complete dentist's false teeth kit. It was funny watching people compare the color and shape of their teeth. Especially when they were ... how shall we say it ... doing recreational stuff? BTW = Pantone announced their color of the year. A very bright magenta. I bet cranberry glass is going to be even more popular. You have been saying pink was due for a resurgence. @@TheAntiqueNomad
I wonder if Jeffery, who speaks very highly of you , will be at this event. Real Nifty Vintage is fun to follow too.
Hey, it would great if you released more videos ❤ we would all like that, I think ❤
That was fantastic! Such unusual finds. My favorite was the miniature silver tea set. ❤
See you this weekend George!! Hope you do fabulous
That set of hanging glasses was cool with the feet on them. Never seen them before. That cash register was seriously cool, with the ball bearings and the way it kept a tally of the sales. The size of that ruby Fenton basket amazing. Thanks for sharing and you have a great day with safe travels
Wow George that was great, always an education! Thanks!
Your videos are so interesting to watch. I learn a lot!
I loved that blue candle holder
That screen divider was divine! I love the double panther light and the drs alligator bag, so cool to see! The ball bearing till was genious! Michael slaying the devil is definitely my favorite piece of the whole video!
Good Evening Everyone.
Hey George 🤗 this was fun. A real conglomeration of stuff. I get a kick out of seeing things that I would like. The aqua and white frig set. The silver miniatures. The Florentine screen and desk. The Franciscan Coronado set. I've not seen that before. Lovely. Happy sales!
I loved the first aide tin!
14:22 that would make a stunning vanity!!!

Good idea!
Mamie Eisenhower was First Lady in early sixties and she always wore hats similar to the feather hat. She did not want a hat that hid her bangs
20:08 that floral sgrafitto lamp looks like Bitossi too!! The elephant is darling! Good pick, George!!

Thanks for a great video.
11:17 It is the crafter and designer in me, ut as you were panning the glassware, I couldn’t help but think that some old crochet under them would make them stand out. Just an outside observation. I think I have been watching too many doll show videos. Lol
Lots of beautiful and unusual items. Thank you for showing. I love the white cat head statue. 17:28 The silver miniatures are very nice, too. ❣️
Another great video. Sometimes it's hard to live in Alaska. I have a late 1800's German Symphonian, that I can't even sell for 1/4th of what they're asking😢
Hi George, wow, what a lot of interesting items. What was the price on the cash register till? That was an extraordinary item. It should be in a museum. Thanks for the great video.

Hi George, I did find a Simplex cash register that used marbles instead of ball bearings that sold for 4,000 euros at auction back in 2019. The one you showed is older.
❤❤❤
Thank you George amazing finds
I saw what looked like a ruby Blenko vase on the same table as the big ruby Fenton basket. I wish I knew where to get so.e of the old catalogues to study.

🤗🇨🇦👍
21:07 He has no evidence it was used on the battle field, whatever "battlefield" even means. Very cool though.
Time stamp 14:26, the stand with the painted lady, I see these in old movies but I have no idea what it is. Can someone tell me?

I think it’s a fire screen to put in front of people sitting near the fire because it would block the blaze from overheating them, which could cause ladies to faint, and to keep their makeup from melting right off.
