The Antique Nomad

The Antique Nomad

I wander across the United States-buying, selling, appraising and collecting antiques and vintage items. My journeys take me to antique malls, shows, estate sales & auctions.

I enjoy sharing my passion for the objects and recollections of yesteryear. Join me as I travel coast-to-coast, scouring the countryside for interesting places to buy and sell cool old stuff. I might be at an antique show one week, digging through an estate the next, setting up a retail display or showing off the latest finds...it's a fun life, and I hope you'll subscribe and come along!

I've found an amazing, warm, fun group of people among the community of collectors, resellers and decorators who make up this crazy antique and vintage collecting world. My desire is to extend those great experiences and fun to all of you who subscribe!

Petosky has a great art gallery in an old church, downtown. As a Michigander my family always to the UP every summer and always demanded that we stop in Petoskey beach and look for stones, on our way to the north and camping on the shores of Lake Michigan and Superior. Great times.

I’m curious if the Fenton Vaseline glass had the tiny notch on the stopper to prevent a vacuum if filled with liquid 🤷‍♀️ Love your shows❣️

The Von Nessen is important, here, for two reasons. First, it exemplifies one of the pitfalls of ebay... precision is a must or cataclysm may follow. The smallest error can blow up into negative feedback (or worse... I was once threatened with legal action over the misidentification of cowhide instead of goatskin on a $75 vintage bomber jacket, even though I readily accepted /refunded the return). Second, and more importantly, it underscores your honesty, George. There is no more valuable asset one can possess. Especially when many customers/clients, if not most, depend upon your expertise. They don't necessarily know the back story of the objects and must trust you for this info. There are far too many dealers out there who are, for the most part, faking it. It does my heart good to find such as you... well rounded, well informed, honest as the day is long. The real deal. Thank you, George, for being you :)

The B&O book fits right into my childhood. We ate Thanksgiving dinner on railroad china when we were home, and some of it was B&O blue and white china or repros of same.

I started a collection of Pacific Pottery in this Apache Red color some time ago. I have this piece. Love it. I have found it in California, though, not here on Colorado.
