Bargain Vintage & Antiques at 1920s Manor Estate Sale!
This large Old Spanish Trail is filled with antique and vintage delights, and cousin Carl and I are here to find what we think our collectors will love to see! Allandale is a special old neighborhood in St. Petersburg, Florida, and these fine old homes and their collections rarely find their way onto the marketplace. What will we find?
The home is as wonderful as its contents, from the step-down living room to the tiled sunporch and the wooden staircases to many rooms full of everything from handsome American antique furniture to Parrish prints, Satsuma ware and Bohemian glass beauties! We first get caught up with a case full of silhouettes, picking the best just before another dealer grabs all the rest. We'd better move fast!
1930s Worlds Fair memorabilia, framed carved cork scenes, mottos and linens, while Carl finds a few books too obscure to be listed online and some late period Asian sake or sauce bowls, and our friendly neighbor gets the Fire-King and Fiesta mugs she came to see. Our mutual hold pile grows larger...Carl and I both like a 1920s lamp, I find everything from mud men to ties...we'll show you my spend at the end!
Even the things we leave are tempting...a raging deal on a pair of marble-top Victorian pedestals, a cool 1970s lucite and glass cocktail table, a lot of stylish and interesting art and Orientalia...but we hold off instead for a good deal on a fashion statement and a surprisingly overlooked piece that sells well elsewhere at an unheard of low price! Estate sales are such a fun window into the past of a family, a city and all our shared heritage.

Hey Folks, let's take a moment and SHARE George's video with a friend or two! Good way to thank him, I think 😊
You’re a handsome model. I think you need a hat with that jacket. Thanks George. This house was really lived in!

I definitely consider his videos as lessons taught by a favorite professor 🏆
That house is stunning! While they had many items that had chips and cracks, all I could think is how wonderful that they USED their China and pottery pieces and loved them! It was a home, not a museum. Good for them!
I think the owners didn't mind misfit (lightly damaged) pieces. That is exactly how I collect. Nothing on earth is perfect, and some dings just means it was used and enjoyed. That's the way life is supposed to be. Enjoyed
What caught my eye is the various wall textures!
My grandpa ate grape nuts all the time. A nice memory of him. Love the house its beautiful.
George, The Antique Nomad, I can easily transport myself from rural north central Texas, south of Fort Worth, to this grand old Florida house perusing every nook and cranny! The owners seem to be collectors of the exact type that I am! I understand their wants and desires when they sourced their collections. This will be what estate sale shoppers will discover when they, the scavengers/buzzards, scour my collected possessions at the final display of my “goodies.” They will find one or more of everything on the planet if it’s something that has caught my eye over my lifetime. My FAVORITES WILL BE FOUND IN THE DOZENS! George, you are a fantastical tour guide of estate sales, I would be honored to accompany you on a walk-through of an estate sale if it could hever be possible. Until then, I will be happily satisfied with going side by side with you in your videos. Watching you at every opportunity. . . your follower, fan, friend and Third Level Member of Patreon, Judy in Texas. ❤🎉❤🎉❤

Well, Judith, I'm so glad you recognized yourself and your collections in this place, it was such a wonderful home! I'm so glad you can come with me vicariously, and perhaps I'll get to your part of Texas, I know there's good sales there too
Carl is my favorite co shopper besides Xeno!!!
The house itself was so cool!! Being a "looky-loo" is one of the side benefits of estate sales. Wonderful items. Thanks for the tour!
It’s so hard to find Riviera without chips so I’m not sure $250 was a good buy for the set-For sure a wise pass. Fun sale with so much eye candy. Thanks for bringing us along, George!

Amazing home!!! Extremely unique!!! Thank u for taking us along!!! 💞💞🙃💞💞
Great video George! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful house!!! I really enjoy how you explain everything as you're looking around. Thank you.
I never knew where the secretary that my dad and I purchased at a antique store for $100 in 1968 came from. Larkin soap! I learn so much from you. I'm glad I still have the secretary -- it's in pristine condition! While its a little "more" than the one you showed here -- the decoration and finish is the same!!
Great shopping with you George! You were missing a hat to go with your coat but other than that, you looked amazing Dahling!
Hi George 🤗 What a great house. So much stuff! My favorite thing is the kitchen sink. Fabulous! Makes me think of my beautiful grandmother.
Good evening, George. Arrrggg! I would love to have that antique chess table! Loved that piece! I have a complete water set of the Westmoreland _Shell and Jewel_ like that pitcher. The reverse painting, on the glass, was pretty. George, if I had that hanging display, and you wanted to paint it white, you'd get swatted 😂 I liked the English tall case clock. You can try using hairspray, on the ink stain on the quilt. Hair spray will take ink out of fabric a lot of the time. They had some really nice furniture there. I really liked the Victorian furniture. There were some really good items there. I would've been tempted on a lot of it. Thanks for taking us along!

Shoot! I really liked that table, and a lot more, but had no room to acquire. The Shell and Jewel, a name I should've remembered and a favorite design of mine. I wouldn't be the one to paint, but I also can't fix veneer damage well, so it had to stay. I liked the clock too, they're so underrated and there's a lone clock dealer in the area, they should just have sold it cheap to him so he can hang on to the nice ones for the future. I will try hair spray, it can work really well but I'm not sure if it's an old old stain that's set, we'll try. I liked SO much of the furniture, so underappreciated in Florida and so needing to be taken to your area to sell. I had fun and I'm glad you did too!

@@TheAntiqueNomad Do you remember how much they were asking for the chess table? I used to have one, but I got rid of it when I moved here. It was more like a kit that you had to put together...likely a Bombay Co. piece. I got it at a flea market really cheap. Veneer damage can be aggravating, but as long as you have a piece that will match the existing veneer, it isn't too bad to do. Maybe soaking the ink spot with hair spray will remove it...or, at least, most of it. It's amasing at how different styles of furniture have regional appeal. There's some mid-century glassware I like, but not so much the furniture. I remember mom telling me she detested the blonde furniture of the 1950s, even when it was new. It would be interesting to discover just what determines what appeals to different regions/locations, from furniture, to glassware, to lighting and even lawn decor and jewelry.
Thanks George! I have to watch it again! If I have this on while I'm doing housework I have to keep stopping and going back! Everything is too interesting that I have to see what you're describing! You are a wealth of info! But I'm not getting any work done! Also, like that you've been showing more jewelry! Enjoy your videos like crazy!

You're right on all counts, I'm sure! A friend of mine is restoring one three houses down very similar to this, and it will take tens of thousands.
Asian pieces are great for tying various designs into a cohesive eclectic room. The Asian lines work great with so many different styles.

Love the green hand mixer❤

I love asian arts and it's wild to me that their appeal is not more universal. The family had an amazing home and great taste.
@TheAntiqueNomad

I agree! The appeal is definitely there for a lot of people, but it's very ornate in a way that maybe seems foreign or ostentatious to some North American tastes
Very interesting sale in FL. Would not think to see such wonderful finds in that location. Keep up the unusual sales please. Great educational sale! Thank you, That coat is just YOU man!!!

I think so too!
I love the rug in that upstairs room.
I've used a Tide Pen to clean a pillow I made 40 years ago which had an old water stain and it came out great, no more stain. I also used it on the face of an old Yo-Yo doll in which a child, one presumes, had drawn a design in pen. At first the Tide Pen made the old red embroidery thread bleed but I went back a few days later and it cleaned most of the pen and bleeding. I thought it may help with your new quilt.
Look at that beautiful old house. This could be very interesting. Hopefully I will catch the live and if not, then in replay.

Very interesting sale: the owner seems to have collected a lot of damaged items, probably getting them cheaply. Great to see you looking at and talking about Asian pieces. I would have spent a lot of time examining the Chinese porcelain, looking for the undamaged ones!
Wonderful seller insights as usual. Furniture was to die for! Im "up north" and would have snapped up so many of those rock bottom price pieces!
Too funny, you mention finding a replacement for the Libby keaf glassws set and I just bought two yesterday!
That's an interesting house with some beautiful furniture and items. I love that green Majolica jourdinaire. 1:35 ( not sure spelling) I like the prints in the small frames you got, too.❣️
I am finally getting caught up on your videos. Thank you, as always, for sharing! 😊 Edit- I really like the Asian cork pieces. They are so intricate & beautiful to me.
