You are one of few beautiful men out there who is not afraid to fight for freedom and against social inequality. Keep going and growing and do not listen to hateful comments, but I'm sure you're already wise enough to ignore the ignorant. I cry every time I hear prejudices against ethnic minorities and understand that those who judge need someone else to blame for their misfortunes. I'm fighting day to day with my Polish family abroad who are filled with racial hate. I am no saint and I have had prejudice in the past but to quote you 'knowledge is power, I hope one day everyone will realise we are one human race.

I love this. I live in Britain, there are problems here but all through out this interview I has thinking of my country, Albania, and what he says, for me, are things that are clearly noticed in albania, where few people have everything and so they do not feel obligated to speak against the system for the sake of others. And the poor aren't given the opportunity to speak. every country should have young people with akalas desire. as Im sure many people are knowledgeable but not want to act

Many of the things he says are at arms length for us, as African people to go and read up for ourselves, although the very deep information is hard to find. If our brothers and sisters thought more about their position within society and thought about themselves as spiritual people maybe then we would be a different nation as a whole. We have to educate ourselves and our people ignorance isn't always bliss. Love to our brother Akala, hopefully he will wake many more up.

when i was 14 in school i had a discussion about how i think the world should be equal and how everybody should share resources food, water, materials for shelter, and clothing, my teacher interrupted that conversation and told me to stop speaking nonsence .The phrase she used and i quote was " on a bus, there always has the be a bus driver you cannot have passengers without a driver ". i disagreed , i was then punished for 5 days in "isolation". these people are now educated our children.

i am a black guy and i've come across institutional racism at school. I came from Kenya my country and the teachers assumed i couldn't speak English and put me in second set which was filled with kids who weren't " smart". My English was fine infact good and it still is, then from there i went to secondary school and there i faced even bigger racism. In my year 9 sats i got a level 6 same as this other white girl, however i had more raw marks than her and guess what...

Hey mate, hope you're well ... I agree with some of what you're saying ... Although I think it's worth mentioning that there is a pro-men's movement, that is not about gaining power, but about gaining rights, which of course is power but the power to live a full happy life. Do a search on "men's rights" and see what you find. The deeper down that rabbit hole you go, the more you'll be surprised ... :-)

Political books and philosophy will help. Try reading philosophy books on the meaning of life, human behaviour, etc. Research different political ideals such as Marxism, Capitalism, Socialism, Communism, etc. Books that make you question not only yourself but society. Read news articles (from reliable sources!) and look into where people are the happiest and why that may be - for example, Cuba has a lot of poverty, but many are simply happy that they can get healthcare due to Castro's influence.

Thanks for the link, I remember I had read this article about a year ago but there isn't any mention of this 68,000 in the report. There is however a report by Hofmeyr which is claiming that the number is 70,000 but this has actually been discredited by most Statisticians who have stated that you are far more likely to be killed in SA if you are non white. I think the term is being confused here as to what a supremacist is, one group killing another group doesn't make them supremacist......

There is far more variation within races than between them, so can everyone please stop generalising someone's colour to their beliefs and actions?! As Akala states, to be against oppression is to be against ALL oppression, so these arguments over who is to blame is irrelevant, as there is at least one person of ALL colours and creeds responsible, it only makes sense to unite against ALL manifestations of injustice and to work together to spread freedom and equality One Love

i do understand you to an extent however reality is actually we need mixed raced or black role models to speak out so that other working class kids can listen to and hopefully see the world in a different view. Honestly majority of the people wouldn't brand a white person as racist for speaking about racist. it's just unless you've been a pair of shoes you can never really know how it feels to wear it( yes that's a metaphor).

she was promoted to a higher maths set than me while in all dismay i was demoted to a lower set so she was on set 3 and i was at 5, ?? i mean it's clear this is racism, the teachers came up with some weak excuses that she was more hard working during the year etc, but still how does that work ?. Good thing my mother is a master level graduate and she went to school and argued out my case. Other working class mothers wouldn't have time or knowledge to do this or how my schooling was going.

It's a good article, but you can't assume that because they don't accept an opinion article on politics they won't accept one on humanitarian issues. The Al-Jazeera article is a matter of your own personal perspective, you could be mistaken. It has observations to back up your ideas, but regardless it is still your own perspective, and is not a cast-iron truth. Not publishing that article doesn't draw the same conclusions as them rejecting an article about a humanitarian crisis.

Also, people should ask them why they are uncritically promoting an openly known CIA asset - Wadak Kanfar - in the Ceasefire mag?" If Ceasefire censored this comment that's not right. Ceasefire does strike me as being centred around politics rather than humanitarian concerns. Too much opinion, not enough fact for my liking, but to be fair it's a magazine and not a newspaper.
