    It is time for the three tenets of UBUNTU CAPITALISM to take hold... 1. Do no harm to the planet 2. Do no harm to the global citizenry (animals included, thou shalt not kill) 3. Do no harm to yourself. The order of importance is implied in the order given.

    He definitely does need to learn about economics. His claim that greed is to blame for poor people around the world is just not true. The fact that he thinks resources could find their way to every citizen if the big bad evil capitalists just stopped being greedy and wanting so many mansions, is so economically ignorant i don't even know where to begin! For starters, when someone becomes rich in a free-market system it does not mean someone else is loosing out somewhere else in the economy. On the contrary, that billionaire (assuming his enterprise was run legally) had to find out what people wanted in the first place which means he used scarce resources which have alternative uses to produce those things, and the consumers bought it from him. If the consumer didn't want those things the billionaire would not have become a billionaire in the first place, and those resources would have been used to produce something in demand. This free-market system, in either a mostly "pure" or mixed economy, has been the reasons why people have risen out of poverty! India and China both had millions of their citizens rise out of poverty when the government allowed for free-market activity, allowing the average Joe the space to accumulate wealth! The amount of people living out of poverty before and after in both countries is staggering to say the least. There is no evidence that the world has poor people because of greed, at all! In fact, there is an overabundant amount of evidence disproving that claim, the biggest one being: NO "UTOPIAN" SOCIALIST COUNTRY HAS EVER PROVIDED THE STANDARD OF LIVING FOR AVERAGE CITIZENS THAT CAPITALIST NATIONS HAVE! I love how he speaks about allocating resources like it wasn't already tried by government officials and bureaucrats in socialist countries like the Soviet Union, and everybody how many mass-hunger coverups were carried out during the 20th century by socialist Russia.

    What do you mean very dangerous? Is that because he can talk, or is it because what he says sounds like truth and makes you feel free and uplifted. Well there's nothing bad about feeling free. Is there? And the truth shall set us free, not from chains as in our mind. Even Plato said that. One of the founding fathers if the Western intellectual culture 🤔🤔😊

    To keep the elite, they have to have people below them. They don't need to worry bout people in the middle so much. But the people at the bottom take the most work. They are literally hungry. The wisest people I've met come from ghettos, because they need to be smart, just to stay alive. Many of them study harder than anyone, to get a better life. So much craziness and lies are made up to keep people at the bottom. It must be frustrating for the elite, because some of the 1% were born poor! It's a constant struggle for them to keep the poor that way.

    if your life goals revolve around what car some rapper has, are you really wired up to succeed? you think there's no inner city white kids with the same shallow dreams of aquiring the trappings of someone with 30 years hard work under their belt...minus any of the work? we're all greedy, some just have evidence to prove it, because time...and effort.

    PraxeoLiberty what makes you think he hasn't got any knowledge of economics. When you say economics, which school of thought are you referring to? Akala is against conspicuous consumption. Please don't tell me you believe that the concept of free-market exist.

  • @patbateman2088

    @patbateman2088

    Mountain Man. first of all, the concept of a free market does exist because it's a concept. Secondly there are schools of thought that favour socialism, mixed economy and pure free market. If you favour full socialism, you're an idiot who doesn't know the unbelievably awful history of socialism. So any sane person in either case would accept that a considerable element of capitalism is desirable. But those who genuinely know why that part is needed (e.g. They know the economics) would not be coming out with the stuff that akala is saying

    PraxeoLiberty PraxeoLiberty I think you missed the point. He said GREED i.e. In Excess and I see nothing wrong with the point he made with regards to that. So how does he need to learn economics your point is??

  • @patbateman2088

    @patbateman2088

    dominantg I get that greed can be bad, but that's why the free market is the best system to capture this inherent part of human nature, because you can only get rich by benefiting the majority (the consumer). If you bring in socialism instead, all the greedy nasty people will end up in positions of authority, except with full control over the economy. So I'd rather greedy bastards on the board of Amazon trying to get me a low price than a socialist dictator governing every aspect of my life and ruining the very fabric of society as seen in places like Venezuela, which were previously championed by people like Corbyn

  • @dominantg

    PraxeoLiberty So it's the lesser of two evils then aye? Hmmmm I think your looking at things a bit too extreme. Ideally what I think he's alluding to is balance, as the greedy fat cats at most corporations like the one you mentioned have no interest in neutrality. It's more of a locust, parasitical ethos. Along with this free market you keep making reference to, doesn't exist nor is it free it's a controlled market a club if you may which is in no sense of the word free. I mean I get that you disagree with him, but my good fellow Akala needs no lessons in economics not by a long shot.
