@@googamp32 Honestly, very little mattered about the use of Dual Screens in both games. The gimmick of two maps was only usable in Single Player, and only usable on a handful of campaign sections. Unusable anywhere else, couldn't even run on VS mode or even make custom dual maps. Top screen was mainly the stats and tactical info screen for everything else, basically. Something that would just be the same as these first two games on a single screen. If anything, they can just have a button to toggle between both map views for the single screen version, and it wouldn't be so different.

I'm sure they will, just imagine those games with revamped graphics and Days of Ruin having an uncompressed soundtrack. Brenner's theme was just incredible, crunchy, badass goodness!

Advance Wars is one of the best series Nintendo has ever put out! Really pumped to finally get this on the Switch.

@@Jonpoo1 I know it's Nintendo heresy, but I've honestly never really cared for F-Zero. My brother got it for me on our SNES when I was a kid and I was excited for a new game, but ended up hating it. I believe there was a GBA one I tried as well and didn't really care for either. Mind you, I was a youngin, so I might feel differently playing a modern one today if they ever make another. Like with the new Metroid Prime Remaster, I would probably be willing to give a GameCube F-Zero remaster a chance.

With all my heart i pray the rumored FE4 Remake is real and that it perfectly captures the heart, difficulty, excellence in narrative and sheer massive scale of the the Jugdral titles, the SNES era of FE. For the next mainline titles, I can only hope IntSys starts to realise the current era of FE titles (while massively skyrocketed the franchise's popularity) have lost what made the classics such a revered and respected franchise. Just make an incredible SRPG without any of this social stuff and lord please hire better writers and go back to the beautiful art direction of the classics, where artistically the series had it's identity instead of chasing current trends to appeal to those markets.

Still jamming out to Nell's theme 20 years later.

They actually think this game will do well enough they're putting advertising out for it and I LOVE it! Can't wait to actually play this, and if this breathes new life into the series and gives the potential for more games, it'll be AMAZING!

Hopefully someone other than Intelligent Systems takes over development of the series, as the way they're taking Fire Emblem and the priorities they're placing on politics, is not what I want out of Nintendo IPs. I'd go play the useless crap on Sony and Microsoft's systems if that were the case.

@@gamermanzeake I feel like they might if they can find the right studio. They may be testing the waters with this to see if there's enough interest for the series to still be profitable, and if it is they could revive it with another game. Another brand new game under a new studio would be an interesting move as with Intelligent Systems and Fire Emblem, I doubt they would have interest in keeping AW going for long. They may use two studios to manage the two IPs separately. Maybe a western studio since I believe AW is more popular overseas than Japan. (I had read it was in the past, not sure about today.)

@@chrisx5127 Technically both yes and no. A large part of it is updated graphics but they also added some QoL and new things such as CO voices and improved multiplayer. Something the series never had before was easy MP.

@@Unknown_User174 Etrian Odyssey found a way to be ported to the Switch. There are more buttons on the switch controller that could simply be used to switch between the two screens. I'm hoping it's DLC. Or if the game sells well enough, be launched as another double pack with Days or Ruin... which would be interesting to try and combine together.

@@DesertRainReads I doubt it tbh, considering the big shift in tone, gameplay and story from one to the other. I think it's a lot more likely for AW:DS to either be its own standalone title or to be added to the Reboot Camp as a DLC further down the line and DoR being it's own seperate thing. DoR has pretty much nothing in common with the first three games (which all are continuations of the previous title), having a completely seperate story, much darker tone, widely different mechanics, characters and units.

I really hope they are making a new advance wars! one of my favorite Nintendo series. dual strike was the best. still playing it nowadays. getting the game just to support the devs to make a new one

This reminds me of GreatBigWarGame and GLWG a lot, which were probably heavily inspired by the old advanced war games. I have great memories of them though. They were super fun games, so much so it makes me interested in this even if it's more expensive. GBWG had a big campaign, co-op versus, more interesting map elevation, walls, destroyable stuff, traps, reinforcements, online with chat, custom game mode/options for pvp or pve instant action, and tons of fun units

This is a great video for getting people into Advance Wars! Now everyone will get to see why this series rocks.

Really looking forward to this!

As a huge fan of Enter the Breach, I am also a huge fan of this! I LOVE STRATEGIC TURN-BASED GAMES!

Absolutely cannot wait. I am so hyped these delays have been pain.

Super Happy 1 and 2 are getting remade. I really loved them a lot on GBA Glad other people can experiance these great games.

Never got to finish them...? Everyone and their mom has been playing the games on GBA emulators while waiting for the damn thing to get re-re-announced. You definitely had the time to finish them on emulator in the last 15 years, assuming your actual Gameboy was not an option somehow. Mine still works just fine.

@@Tetragramix I actually only played them on emulator, but lost my old saves when I got a new PC so I didn't bother restarting from zero since I also had other games to play. While I've never finished them myself I've watched a full playthrough of both games since then so I'm looking forward to replaying and finally finishing them thanks to this remake, simple as that!

This is awesome! I love modern touches and classic games that don’t get enough love! Next, I hope next Intelligent Systems can remake Paper Mario the Thousand-Year Door!

this will be a great game, refined compared to many other turn based strategies and the nostalgia helps; loved playing these on my SP back in the day.

I like the Super CO Power theme most of all, but the music is overall good.

Thank you for releasing this, Nintendo. It was my most requested game for years, then I was crushed when the game got delayed. So many memories with my brother playing this and I cannot wait for new memories!

One of the things Im definately going to be doing is a indef guide of the changes in designs. Along with Gold Comet(I have to correct myself often lol) infantry sporting a helmet and a smg style weapon over a cap and rifle, the BLack Hole infantry seem to have traded out their arm gun for a actual rifle, with their eyes more visible behind the glass.

Ultimately I don't know if they would work on a brand new Advance Wars game. The director of the originals Toru Narihiro has been having too much success with Fire Emblem to divide his attention on the Wars games, and he is rapidly approaching retirement age @ 59/60 years old. But I would certainly welcome a new game.

Buying digital day one! One of my most anticipated games on the Switch. Still play roms of the old ones and I had the original on the Gameboy Advance. Contrary to popular opinion I really like the fresh graphics and I just hope we get some future DLC to add some new content. Fingers crossed they give us a couple new units at least. Maybe even a new CO or two in the future.

It's a small thing, but I like the changes to the map editor. In the original, you only had full-size maps. I liked smaller maps most of the time and could only make them by surrounding everything in water. It felt off with the game already having smaller maps.

So many good memories of Advance Wars. My favourite being beating someone in a Dual Strike match by comboing Sami and Eagles Ultimates. Captured their HQ in a single turn with a double move helicopter + infantry unit :D

@The ender Kirby Yeah I’m definitely and totally 98% percentage that it was first appearance with *Famicom-style* after the existence to Fire Emblem 💙🔥❤️ and marketing for Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot remaster game ported for the Nintendo Switch releasing In April 21st, 2023.

So worried about the online mode. I hope its not pre-deployed maps only. They really need a league and rating system like Advance Wars by Web. Something to keep people playing.

This game was my first introduction into turn based games like this, my favorite being final fantasy tactics

I wonder if the delay gave them alot more time to polish this game? If so then that would be cool. Less bugs to worry about,

Can’t wait to play this again

My sister and I found her husband’s GBA with Advance Wars. No backlight, but the screen still looked pretty good.

One of my all time favourite franchises, played them all , Great to see this on the switch but I wish it was new maps etc..

@@gamermanzeake Honestly, they did a bad job at keeping the art style. It´s not cartoony, it just feels like a cheap mobile game you see every day. Which is really disappointing as a fan since the beginning. It feels quite soulless. They did an amazing job with the 2d artworks, but the main core gameplay looks replaceable. I did preorder this game back in 2021 (which I usually don´t do), but just for pure nostalgia and love for the game (and also in the hope for maybe a new Advance Wars one day...). I mean, it´s still Advance Wars 1 and 2. They are great strategy games, but I feel like they had so much potential and managed so poorly. The biggest fans are usually also the biggest critics, but not ingrating, just disappointed of missed opportunities for their loved games.

It's not really the same style, though, it's actually 3 different styles: Bland 3D models for the battle animations, little diorama models for the map, and cartoon-style CO characters that animate oddly. It's recognizeble, but it comes across as a bit cheap and definitely isn't as nice as either quality pixel art or the treatment that Fire Emblem has gotten.

excuse me? retaining its style? this reboot camp looks nothing like the old games. you can say many things about the new looks, but not that it retains the old style

Just beat 1+2 again this month on GBA. Fantastic music and pixel art. Highly recommended. Now im on to dual strike and batillion wars 😁
